This was wild!! Read this book in a day, couldn't put it down. The characters were all so unlikeable but in the way Only a great author can write. Highly recommend.

This was really good! I’d read on a Facebook reading group that this wasn’t one of Freida’s best books, however, I thought it was great. Lots of drama, cliff hangers, tension. I thought I’d got it figured out and I’m true Frieda fashion, I was wrong. Great read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Woof! Frieda McFaddeb lived up to the hype. You won’t be disappointed!

I feel the twist of this book was a bit weaker than the other one. But still it was great one!!

It was okay read. I wish it would have went into more detail on everyone’s histories. The ending was obvious to me and felt underwhelming. Very predictable. I like that what happened to a certain character made them realize what they had was worth fighting for.

3,5 stars. I really enjoyed this book, it was extremly fastpase, fun to read and lots of theorycrafting.

I did kind of guess two of the plot twists, and It didnt have a gasping kind of ending, not for me atleast. I would still recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers, or maybe someone who wants to get into reading. Freida Mcfadden is the best at making books that you can fly throught.

Cant wait to read more of her books!

Decent plot, I'll probably try another book by this author. I've heard the housemaid is a favorite of most people I've spoken to about this author.

Freida has done it again! She has quickly become my favorite author. Each book is continuously thinking you’ve got it figured out and then another twist proves you wrong, and this book is no different! Such a quick and fun read that keeps you wanting to turn the page.

4 stars!

I will always pick up anything Freida McFadden! This wasn't my favourite book of hers but it was still fun and engaging.

I am a sucker for a cabin in the woods setting. Freida is great at keeping you guessing throughout the book which I love.

I'll keep recommending her books to fellow thriller lovers.

Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

Well, Freida McFadden did it again! Another book you just can’t put down.

It has a stunning setting — friends got stuck in the woods on the way to a vacation. There are six of them, it makes three couples.

MC’s car broke after entering the wild area (no phone signal, for sure), so they decided to walk to their inn. But something goes wrong, they get lost and people start to die.

And you start doubting every single person. Or maybe it’s a wild animal? Don’t try to guess, the main twist is unexpected as usual, and other twists are crazy as well.

Another reason I want to praise this book is the very realistic relationship between MC and her husband. They are a pre-divorcing couple after years of marriage with two children, and they act like one— when they fight, they fight. Poking each other, being furious, making sarcastic comments, etc.

So their behavior during this “vacation”, MC’s secret, and the ending — all seem logical to me.

The story was good and I enjoyed every single page of it.

Thank you, NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read multiple different books be Freida and I am always thrown off at who it could be. I enjoy reading her books and you are instantly sucked into them and need to figure out the mystery.

I did not see that plot twist coming at all. I suspected the one character Warner as it just made sense but I wasn’t sure about everything else. I am always wrong about who it could be and why. She gets me everytime!

This book was a super quick read and easy to make sense of. I enjoyed it! Everything flowed nicely and the plot was good.

My opinions are my own.

Finished one of my CRs! ❤️📚

Wow on this one! This was my first Freida McFadden and I understand why her books are so popular in the thriller community. This was a strong 4, almost 5 for me as I read a lot of thrillers and enjoyed this one.

When a group of 6 with complicated relationships get lost in the woods and start dying #onebyone you are left with a true whodunit and constantly asking who is “anonymous” that we keep flashing back to?!?! The tone and style of McFadden’s writing is easy to read, almost conversational, with enough descriptive elements to pull you into the story and set the stage. This allows the story to be relatively fast paced. She drops enough hints and appropriately times perspective changes to really build suspense. The #plot twist was just the right amount of surprise and “darn it - I should’ve been able to figure it out” and for me that’s the perfect balance of what I like (not overly predictable but doesn’t feel like it came entirely out of left field. )

I will definitely be exploring more of McFadden’s titles and it’s feeling like a good go to for a quick suspenseful summer read. Fans of suspenseful authors and true whodunits from authors like Agatha Christie and Mary Higgins Clark will love this!

Big thank you to NetGalley poisoned pen press and Freida McFadden for this ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed it! #suspensethriller #plottwist #creepy #whototrust #mysterylover #adventuresintbrland

I flew through this book! I never knew where the plot was going. I thought I was going to be right about who did it throughout the entire book and then the reveal came and I was far from it! I enjoyed the story.

I am a huge fan of Freida McFadden, but this was not my favorite of her thrillers. Many of her books leave me up all night in a desperate attempt to get answers, but this one was just a bit slow. I wanted more action and excitement, as I've come to expect in her writing. The characters were generally unlikeable and I had a hard time connecting with the story. I wanted to be more shocked at the twists but was left wanting more. I highly recommend reading her other thrillers!

4.5 stars for this one! I always love Frieda’s books and this one REALLY got me with the twist! Midway through the book, I was kind of disappointed because I thought I had it figured out. I was nowhere close to knowing what was happening 😂

Claire Marchett is hopeful that a vacation with her husband Noah and two of their couple friends, will give her a chance to either fix her broken marriage or make the decision to finally call it quits. She could have never guessed what was in store for not only her, but the five others on the trip with her. She and her best friend Lindsay are supposed to be spending time in a hot tub and sleeping in comfy, fancy beds…..not sleeping in the woods and fighting for their lives. Noah and his best friend Jack are supposed to be enjoying hikes in the woods, not trying to find clean water they can drink so they don’t die of dehydration. One by one: Claire, Noah. Jack , Michelle, Lindsay and Warner, will each get what’s coming to them!

Great read! Thank you for the opportunity to read this digital advanced reader copy in return for my honest opinion!

There’s quite a lot of build up and context for my liking but overall an ok read. I wish there was more action/drama in the first chapters but this build up doesn’t happen until 20+ chapters. I did overall enjoy this read and enjoyed the slower pace for a change.

Freida does it again. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t want to put it down. It kept me guessing the whole way through and I didn’t guess the twist at the end. I didn’t love the characters and found it hard to believe they wouldn’t have ANY survival skills. Otherwise, it was a solid thriller.

As usual, Frieda hits with another binge worthy ready as I couldn’t put this down… AND was at my best friends bach party in paradise! I was able to guess just a small part of one of the many twists, however it did not disappoint with the shock factor!
Frieda is my auto buy author and I am thankful to have received this ARC in return for a review .

Reading Freida McFadden is like having fast food - you want it, but then feel guilty about it because you know it's not good for you.

Like with a lot of her other books, this not only borrows a title from another thriller, but also some of the plot. You have seen this all before. there is nothing unique about this story, and yet, you read it fast and somehow enjoy it.

Story of a group of six friends that are going away for a week to a relaxing inn. They all pack into one car, and drive through the woods. The car breaks down and they are lost for days(?) ... yeah, if you think this sounds silly, it is. Told from a POV of Claire and another, in flashback mostly, that we call here "anonymous." The pacing of the book is fast, chapters short, so you can read though this really fast.

Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for lending me this book for an honest review.
