The Good Shepherd is a 40-day devotional book for those who are in leadership in ministry. Each devotional has beautiful photography that depicts life in the Middle East, specifically as a shepherd. The devotions begin with true to life information about shepherding, then an illustration from Scripture that involves that aspect of shepherding. The devotional closes with thoughts for reflection about how this impacts our everyday lives as leaders.

This devotional is well researched and very beautiful. The author himself has spent many years in ministry so his application points are extremely relevant. As a Sunday school teacher this book has been an encouragement to me even though I feel like the application is geared more toward pastors and elders.

I would highly recommend this book! Add it to your library or buy it to gift the church leader in your life.

This was a delightful short book of 40 short reflections on leading and being led. It wasn't quite what I expected. If you are looking for a morning devotional, I think that this is a great option.

This book had nice insights into shepherding. However, I was a bit put off by the “authors translation” version of Bible passages throughout. I was hopeful that this would be a great Lent devotional, but I struggled to truly sense that it met the mark.

This would be the perfect book to read along side with your Bible study for Lent. With 40 reading you can read one each day for lent. I enjoyed reading about his travels and would definitely recommend this book to my Bible study friends to read!

I appreciate the level of research and time that went into this book. I thought they would read more like devotionals and less like journal entries with field experience and interviews, but it was still an interesting read. I liked how many perspectives were reflected.
