I like the sequential order this book follows, instead of just having a little box that explains terms at the end of each chapter, the author introduces things the reading may not know, such as the history of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), in an organic way that I found to be more helpful for understanding the material. I also quite enjoyed that each section within a chapter was relatively short because books on finance and understanding the stock market tend to be wordy with no respite in sight. As someone in prefers information in small bites, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for those who, like me, need to understand topics as complex as finance in small, digestible bits. Also, finance in general just depresses me because the gender pay gap and capitalism, so not forcing myself to make it to the end of the chapter before quitting made this a worthwhile read.

I expected this to be more of a beginners guide to investing in the stock market. It was more of a comprehensive guide to the stock market as a whole, its components, and its history.
