I signed up for this ARC, not realizing that this was part of a duet. Fortunately, it doesn’t really end up in a cliffhanger, but there are a lot of questions to be answered. This was just a quick steamy read if that’s what you’re after, it was fast-paced, so there’s not enough build up for me to buy Samson and Liz’s relationship. The misunderstanding trope is just driving me crazy, and the story is just too depressing. I don’t think I will be checking out the next book.

Samson has had a terrible life. His mother is a drug addict, his girlfriend is crazy and a drug addict, and he was in and out of foster homes. He steals the wrong man’s car but gets offered a job, from a mob boss. The boss puts him and another guy in charge of a strip club.
Lisbeth walks into the club wanting the bartender job. But Samson gets her to strip instead. They are attracted to each but Samson has Yvette, the crazy girlfriend. There is something about Lisbeth that he can’t seem to stay away from.
Samson’s life takes a turn for the worst and instead of dragging Lisbeth down, he lets her go.
Lots of explicit sex. Drugs. Pretty good story. No HEA. Slight cliffhanger. Angst. My first time reading this author. Will have to read the next one to see what happens between Samson and Lisbeth.

This story is one crazy ride. I don’t think I have ever read a story like this before which is a huge plus in my book. The tension, tension, tension was off the charts. What would happen next…that what makes me love a storyline. I did not wan to put the book down so much was going on and so much pain and then happiness and then pain. Definitely pulled the emotions from me.

This does end in a sort of cliffhanger in that you have to read the second book to see if Samson and Lisbeth get their HEA/HFN. I need to now read the second book because I want to know how they get their HEA/HFN (no surprise, an HEA/HFN is guaranteed in a romance book).

Wicked Addiction is Book 1 in the Club Wicked Duet and is a fast paced mafia romance. I did enjoy Sampson and Lisbeth together but would have like some more build up for their relationship. But for a quick book to read in one sitting with a little spice, this hits the spot. I am curious to see what happens between these two in the next book.
