Oof, this was such a great book. From the very first page, I knew I was going to love this one. I flew through it in a matter of hours and just couldn't get enough. And I have instantly added this authors other book to my tbr. I can not recommend this one enough.

I thought this was going to be like every other nanny story. We've all seen The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, ok? But I read it anyway, because popcorn thrillers are my kryptonite.

This is not like any nanny story you've ever read. I promise you. It's twisty, and it's so GOOD. The end definitely shocked me. Add this to your TBR lists

Nelle Had Me Hooked!

I had the pleasure of reading the ARC. I'm so happy I got to read it. Highly recommend reading this. I flew through this book so fast.

I honestly went through so many emotions read this. Anger, hatred, frustration, and intrigued. The characters definitely need therapy.

There are very dark themes in this story, so be sure to check triggers

I couldn’t put this one down, gripping from the very first sentence! I thought I had the plot figured out - NOPE I WAS SO WRONG. Definitely one of the better thrillers I’ve read this year!
This was my first book by Nelle Lamarr so I will definitely be checking out their other book!

First, I want to thank Nelle Lamarr, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

OH WOW!!! This was the first time ever reading anything from Nelle Lamarr but now I am a huge fan of hers!! I had a feeling The Night Nanny was going to be good but WOW….she exceeded my expectations! I must read more of her psychological thrillers if they are as good as this one! YES…you are going to need to run out and buy this one and put it on the top of the list.

The Night Nanny read like a binge worthy series you would see on Netflix! You know the one you start at 8pm and get sucked in until the series is over in the wee hours of the morning. YES…the book is this good!! Infact, it was so addicting and fast paced I finished it in one sitting.

Instantly the intensity of the prologue grabbed my attention and would not let it go until the last page! I was mesmerized by how unique and out of the box this storyline was! The book had everything from multiple deep dark juicy secrets, earth shattering revelations I never in a million years saw coming, a very unique set of characters and moments where I was yelling at my kindle!

I have seen the reborn dolls before and they are adorable. However, in this book it was way too creepy for me!

Ned from the beginning I didn't care for but I could not put my finger as to why. As I got deeper into the story it wasn’t just him I didn’t care for.

The Night Nanny will have everyone talking! If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would! It was that good!

I loved this book! Some of the characters did annoy me. I was like screaming at them as I was reading haha. I figured out the twists literally just a few sentences before they were explained. Nonetheless, I was still shocked with those. This book has the power to suck you in and you won’t want to put it down until you are completely finished. Very well written and definitely recommend anyone to read it!

“Please don’t worry, Ava. Your baby is safe with me. I’m going to take care of her like she’s my own…”

Nothing says "you better worry" more than that when you're reading a thriller!

Poor Ava had a rough pregnancy with complications, so when she is unable to even get out of bed to lift up her own baby, her husband suggests hiring a night nanny. He figured it would be great for Ava and for little Isa, and would allow him to get some sleep as well.

Cue the dun...dun...dunnnn.... Enter Marley, the night nurse. You know this is going to go south. Ava continues to be a dishrag, letting Marley take over the day, as well as night feedings, while her depression and lack of self concept continue to dip. But after a few weeks, Ava starts to connect with her baby (finally). And that's when the action takes off. Did this book require a huge suspension of disbelief? Yes. But was it worth it for the twists and turns? Absolutely!

Thank you so much to Bookouture for taking me along on this book tour!

Name of Book: The Night Nanny

Ned and Ava Sinclair are excited about starting a family. Only Ava doesn’t have that beautiful ‘glow’ that pregnant women are supposed to have instead she is in a lot of pain. While waiting in line at Starbucks to order a decaf iced mocha Frappuccino she is in major pain when a good Samaritan comes to her rescue and not only helps her but offers a place at her table. Turns out she is an NCS – a trained newborn care specialist- aka a night nanny.

Three month later after Baby Isa is born neither Ned nor Ava are getting any sleep. Additionally Ava is having physical and mental difficulties. Ned suggest a nanny – someone who can help with Isa at night as Ava needs to heal and can only do that with rest.
Ava remembers the nurse who was so helpful at the coffee shop and calls her.
Nurse Marley Manners is hired and immediately takes over.
Ava soon starts to suspect that Nurse Marley just may have other plans for her family.

There is so much more to this story – Nelle Larmarr packs so much in the later part of this story my head was spinning. In fact I experience the over used comment – I then let go of a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding.

As always I love reading the Author’s Note and Acknowledgement – both well worth the read. She tells reader that she had an idea for
this story and sent an ‘elevator pitch’ (which I had to look up - An elevator pitch is a brief introduction of getting across a key point – got
its name as it is approximately the amount of time you would spend riding and elevator)
Anyway her pitch to her editor at Bookouture was an evil nanny story.
– When she got the greenlight she was super excited; after figuring out the characters, she said it became fun to write. The characters took over and even she didn’t see the twists coming.

This is my second story by Ms. Lamarr and her second. I believe we are both ready for her next one!

About the Author: Nelle Lamarr is the psychological suspense pen name for contemporary romance author Nelle L'Amour. Be it a thriller or romance; she loves to write jaw-dropping, character-driven stories that will have you turning the pages and will stay in you. (Story certainly stayed with me all night as well as the next day!)

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture this great thriller!!.

“The Night Nanny” is Nelle Lamarr's latest thriller.
This was my first of Nelle’s books but definitely won’t be my last! I am officially a fan.

The story follows Ava, a new mother who is having difficulty caring for the baby after a pregnancy pelvic condition and C-section. I appreciated the little details of postpartum and pregnancy struggles and how raw and real some of it felt.

Ava meets a highly experienced night nurse over coffee and a perfect solution to her problems seemingly fell into her lap. Between her postpartum struggles and not so helpful husband, Ava decides to hire this night nanny that seemed to magically appear at just the right time.

I immediately got a strange feeling from the night nurse. It was infuriating at how many red flags there were that Ava kept overlooking. The husband was also a very aggravating character that had me wanting to shake him multiple times throughout the book.

There are lots of twists and crazy scenes that will make you want to throw your book at the wall out of frustration. I did end up predicting part of the twists but there were so many shocking pieces that I was still left wowed!

Absolutely fantastic book - I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an easy to read, fast paced plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page! Speaking of, make sure to read everything - even the PostScript!

Huge thank you to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for the EARC in exchange for my honest review. Due to be published May 13, 2024 - this one is worth the read!

Nelle Lamar knocks it out of the park again! I devoured this book in less than two days and it grasped my attention from page 1! The twists and turns are amazing and the ending, wow! Honestly, this is Nelle Lamar’s second thriller and I highly recommend both! I enjoyed the multiple POV which included Ava (wife), Ned (husband) and Marley (nanny). I honestly thought I had this book figured out halfway through but I was so wrong!

Thank you NetGalley & publisher for the chance at an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you love Freida, you need to add this one to your TBR!

The Night Nanny
by Nelle Lamarr
Pub Date: May 13 2024

The Night Nanny is a totally engaging psychological thriller. I was engrossed in the story from the first chapter until the last page. It had so many twists and turns. I cannot recommend this book highly enough! This is my first book by author Nelle Lamarr, I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Synopsis: “Please don’t worry, Ava, your baby is safe with me. I’m going to take care of her like she’s my own…”
Ever since my daughter Isa was born, I’ve been struggling. I can’t remember anything, and my brain is in a fog. So when my husband Ned suggests we hire a night nanny, I leap at the chance. When she walks into our home, I smile at her, relieved she’s finally arrived. But then I notice her eyes: the color of amethysts. A memory flashes across my brain, but before I can grasp it, it’s gone…

Many thanks to #TheNightNanny #NetGalley #Bookouture for providing me with an E-ARC of this book.

summary:
This book is about Ava, a mother of a newborn, and her husband Ned, a founder of a leading agency in LA backed by his wealthy and powerful family. Ava struggles after childbirth, and through a seemingly chance encounter in a coffee shop, meets a night nanny that could be the answer to her prayers. She immediately hires her, but quickly asks herself — who did she let move into their house, and what is her end goal?

Ava is a well developed character, and any mother can easily emphasize with her struggles as a first time parent, recovering from a challenging pregnancy, and faced with all of the challenges that a newborn brings. Her husband, Ned, is also intriguing - we get a sense of his power and control, but less of a sense of how he and Ava fell in love in the first place. However, his attraction to their night nurse feels a little shallow and predictable, and most readers will think they can see what’s coming next. BUT, the last half of the book goes in a direction you won’t expect, and builds a much more complex plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It also adds a level of depth to characters that builds out the story in a really complete way.

I went back and forth throughout this book — thinking it was too predictable, but the second half was NOTHING like I expected, and nothing like other books I’ve read! Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a new and different twist on a thriller, that will keep you stunned until the very end.

I loved this book! This is my first book from Nelle Lamar but it definitely will not be my last. The Night Nanny does not lack a bit of action. It's packed from the very beginning and doesn't let up. The characters have you hooked instantly, they even made me think I was crazy as I was reading along. If you're looking for a good thriller that has a great ending and doesn't fall short, grab this!

I would like to thank NetGalley for an e-ARC of Nelle Lamarr’s book The Night Nanny.

In The Night Nanny we meet Ava in her last trimester of a very hard and physically taxing pregnancy, when she seemingly runs into a kind woman Marley who happens to be a night nurse. Over a cup of coffee the two women exchange pleasantries and numbers. Three months later and Ava has given birth to a little girl, Isa. As most newborn do, Isa keeps her parents on their toes with loss of sleep and long excruciating nights, made harder because of Ava’s lasting physical issues from her pregnancy and emergency c-section. Remembering the kind woman she met in a coffee shop, Ava finds Marleys number and hires her to become their night Nanny.
Ned, Ava’s a-hole of a husband seems a little too interested in the new nanny who is young and more than competent in her care for both Ava and Isa. The longer Marley cares for Isa the more it seems like Ava’s peace of mind with hiring her seems to crumble and it doesn’t help that Ava herself has a deep secret that she needs to keep hidden away.

This was an ok thriller. I enjoyed my time reading it and was definitely on the verge of intense anxiety because of the subject matter. Having four kids myself, anything involving the health and safety of a child pulls at my mother bear instincts. The plot was slow building which lended to a lot of tension and that is always a plus in my book when it comes to thrillers. I liked that we got to see Neds POV as well as Ava’s and then Marleys towards the end. It gave a good look into the characters and their motivations which made for a more robust story.

Was I wowed? Not exactly. For one, the dialogue felt really stilted and not natural at all. This isn’t a huge deal for a lot of people and in a thriller I could kind of let it go but I do believe that creating a more natural dialogue would lend to the readers feeling more immersed in the story and for the characters interactions to be more believable. The twists were not very twisty for me. Everything felt a little too neatly solved and interwoven in the end and it was a very convenient solution. I will recommend this to other people and I did enjoy my time reading it but I cant be sure that I will remember this one for a long time.

👩🏻‍🍼ARC review of the night nanny by Nelle Lamarr 👩🏻‍🍼

The night nanny follows Ava and her husband Ned as they become new parents. They decide to hire a nanny to help out with the night feeds and such and enters Marley but not all is as it seems!

This book gripped me from the start and i found myself finishing it in one sitting. There was so many twists and turns and once you thought you had it figured out something else would throw you off. It was a nail biting thriller that shocked me right to the end.

easy 4⭐️

New mother Ava is not recovering well from the birth of baby Isa. Medically fragile, disheveled and unsure of herself.

A chance meeting with gorgeous, fit, confident Marley reveals she is a night nanny for struggling new parents, which seems like a godsend, but is it?

I didn’t really like any of the characters and the twists were a touch unrealistic.

The pacing was good, the multiple POV’s were easy to read and follow. This one hooks you right away and I’d recommend this to domestic thriller fans.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy-opinions expressed are my own.
