I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl (Volume 1) by Kashikaze is a manga style graphic novel. Quintessential good girl Sakurai finds herself trapped in the middle of a bribery scheme. Her teacher offers to write a recommendation letter in exchange for luring a truant student into attendance. Sakurai pins down the reclusive transfer student Honda, but there are strings attached. Honda demands that Sakurai grant one wish every day. The first wish is a kiss—and Sakurai finds herself feeling very eager to please.

I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl is a graphic novel about a budding friendship that did not have the most natural beginning- blackmail. It is nice to see the two girls get to know each other, with the possibility of more than friendship clearly an option. It is well drawn and engaging. My only issue was that I think I might have read this before as a webcomic or something since it all seemed very familiar- and not just because it leans heavily on the tropes of the subgenre. It was cute, fun, and is a great start to a series about figuring out who you are and how you feel about those around you.

The description given "In this juicy yuri manga, the goody-goody high school girl Sakurai meets a lonely girl --and ends up entangled in a web of blackmail that might just lead to romance" had left me with expectations that this was going to be a more messy manipulative relationship but it was a fluff fest instead. It was not what I would call 'juicy' but if you are looking for a sweet high school yuri romance then you are in the right place. I wish there was a little more conflict but there was some cute moments which I enjoyed.

In my opinion, the pace of the story seems a bit swift, especially in regards to the character's quick attraction to Sora Honda after her first request. It would be beneficial to see more development and introspection regarding Sakuri and the attraction to Sora Honda early on verses later on. Additionally, there is a lack of background information on the Sakuri's sexual orientation, which could add depth to the narrative. It appears that the storyline is rushed in this aspect.

Nevertheless, the story overall is heartwarming and a fast read. The artwork is well-executed and easy to follow, without excessively detailed panels. This would be a suitable read for a younger audience, such as middle or high school students.

This was a cute concept but it has a pacing issue. parts move either move to fast or to slow. The art is very well done and I give 4/5 stars

This was a cute sapphic manga that takes place in a high school. I hope to continue on with the series. I had such a fun time reading this, the art was great, the book flowed well and was translated well. I will definitely be following in hopes to try to catch and ARC copy of volume 2 and can't wait for it to come out.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read and review this manga. This reminds me of a combination of Whisper Me a Love Song and Those Not So Sweet Boys due to the premise and the character development/dynamics. I am curious to see what happens next, but I am not in a hurry to. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3 out of 5 stars

I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl has a cute cover that left me expecting it to be cute throughout. At first, I was unsure about it, but it quickly turned a leaf that left me reading with so much fondness.

Ayaka is really finding herself. Throughout this volume, we get to see that well. It encompasses so many emotions of what she is going through and discovering about herself. Between the expressions and thoughts, it was easy to feel her confusing as she's trying to figure out her feelings.

Honda is still a bit of a mystery by the end of this. We get to see a little bit about her that starts to make some of her actions make sense, but it gave her depth and made me eager to see more about her.

While starting off in a way that left me unsure, this quickly turned into a cute manga that I found myself invested in. I'm interested in what is going to happen as the story moves forward.

Received as a review copy via NetGalley. I am always a big fan of awkward LGBTQIA+ romance stories, specifically those like How Do We Relationship, and this is exactly what you get from I Can’t Say No To The Lonely Girl. A story of two awkward girls finding a symbiotic relationship turning into something altogether more romantic and confusing, it is a must read coming of age manga about communication and budding romance.

SA is not cute or funny or the way to start a FF relationship. The MC is manipulated by the high school teacher in order to get accepted into college, and then forcefully kissed by another student and blackmailed every day. Nope, nope, nope. The plot is very weak and relies on artificially scary situations to get the two main characters to bond together. It was very shallow, problematic, and not interesting. I wouldn't recommend it.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advance copy of this manga in exchange for an honest review.

This manga is really cute and simple; which happens to be my favorite kinds to read. I hope the author will stick with the lighthearted atmosphere with this because sometimes girl love manga can get really dark and it just does not appeal to me. The art style is really cute!

A glimpse at a complicated sapphic relationship in a slice of life shojo manga.
I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl has a fairly basic premise. Sakurai is struggling to get into her first choice school. A whimsical teacher obsessed with FPS games offers her a deal. If Sakurai can get Honda to come to school and pass, the teacher will write Sakurai a recommendation letter to get her into any school of her choosing. The deal takes a turn when Honda finds out and wants to make a deal of her own. She will go along, go to school, and study so long as Sakurai fulfills a request for her every day - the first of which is a kiss.
Of course, as with any romance story, things get emotionally complicated. Sakurai finds herself drawn to Honda more and more and starts to question what their relationship is and does she actually enjoy fulfilling these requests?
Content Warnings for I Can't Say no to the Lonely Girl 1 include coercion and a cliffhanger ending.

I don’t tend to read a lot of GL but i’m trying to change that and when I saw this on NG I figured it was worth a shot.

It’s definitely not my favourite manga but the art is pretty and the characters are cute and I can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses in volume 2!

Ayaka couldn't get into the school she aspired to, so the teacher offers to help her by giving her a letter of recommendation in exchange for her talking to Honda about attending the school. Honda finds out about their deal, so Honda asks Ayaka for favors in exchange for her silence.

I liked it more than I thought. What I didn't like was the teacher. The plot has interesting elements of intrigue and character development. The twist in which Ayaka discovers new feelings for Honda adds emotional depth to the story. The dynamics between the characters, especially the tension created by the deal between Ayaka and Honda, add an element of suspense and complexity to the plot.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this manga in exchange for an honest review.

Full 5 Stars!!

Friends to Lovers is such a precious pipeline and adored the soft, gradual pining the characters seem to be growing towards. I cannot wait for more volumes to drop- I will be reading every single one now!!!!

3.25 stars.
Honestly, I was pretty taken aback by the first chapter and I really needed a moment to convince myself to read the rest. It felt wrong and I was kinda uncomfortable, but I'm glad I continued because it got better after that. I'll probably continue the story as well because I wanna see how it unfolds.
It's actually a pretty sweet story (or I think it will become one) and the characters are unique and fun to watch interacting with each other. Side characters are interesting as well and I really liked how they add quite some energy and space for the main characters to evolve their relationship.
The professor was kinda weird, though?
Anyway, I do hope the next volumes will have a bit more structure and will develop relationships of both main characters and their friend group.

A fast-paced, sweet little yuri. The title made it sound more menacing than it really is. Very fluffy (a compliment). Excited to read the next one!
