This is #3 in the Cornwall Murder Mystery series, but I read it as a standalone with no problems. However, I enjoyed it so much that I’ve now downloaded the previous two books.

DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price start investigating the death of local girl, Sophie. Everything points to the perpetrator being her boyfriend, Samuel, especially as he doesn’t have an alibi for the time of Sophie’s murder. A piece of paper with a line of a poem on it is found in Sophie’s mouth. Then another body is discovered and it’s a local girl called Courtney. Lauren and Matt discover that Sophie’s boyfriend, Samuel, was seeing Courtney behind her back, so this puts him firmly in the frame. A piece of paper is found in Courtney’s mouth, with the exact same line of a poem written on it. The team has to find the killer before they strike again.

A brilliant and gripping read, which I read in record time.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

I probably would have enjoyed this more if I had read the first two books in the series. After reading this one, I'm not sure if I would have made it to this one in the series. I really couldn't get into it. The circumstances around the murder seemed like a lot. I just don't think this book or series is for me.

Wow this book was amazing. It's the 3rd in this series. So many twists which was excellent. I hope others read this and enjoy it as much as I did.

This is a hard book to review because jumping in partway through a series is always tough - I liked the characters and the relationship, and enjoyed the team dynamic and the setting.

But I found some of the background exposition to be a little much (it referenced things that felt irrelevant to my ability to understand the characters - so it simply distracted from the plot, and if I had read these books, I would not have needed it)

I also felt like the murder felt a little too complicated and didn't make a lot of sense.

Fantastic read - absolutely spot on by Sally Rigby. 3rd book in this series and I loved it. DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price’s team are just bonding really well and getting stronger as the series goes on. Lauren is trying to be human with her team and there’s good changes and differences in her personality too, from 1st book to this one.

A woman is found on the shore with a cryptic note stuffed in her mouth and the whole team gelled together to solve the murder. Brilliant !

This book had a solid premise and a great bunch of characters. I haven't read the first two books which I will definitely get to later.

Coming to Murder at Land's End, I must say that it has a solid beginning which creates intrigue for the readers. The author did a great job of writing the investigation process and it was fun seeing them the characters unravelling new clues as the pages turn. The similar death of another character definitely brought the book to a fabulous climax as the stakes were higher.

However it was after that bit, that sort of pulled the magnetic energy of the story. The conclusion felt very anti-climactic and not very invested. I was hoping that there would be a much more convoluted end. Anyway, this is my view and there will be others who will love the book.

A compliment of note to the author is the way the setting of each scene is described. It makes one really want to visit the area.

For the ending, I give this book 3 stars.

I thank NetGalley and Storm Publishing for giving me this E-Arc and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The superstitious and very traditional fishing industry is at the centre of Sally Rigby's third Cornish crime mystery. Two women are found dead on the rocks at Land's End, in separate incidents, both carefully placed and with words from a seafaring poem in their mouths.
Penzance CID relies on good old fashioned police work to solve the mystery. No endless jargon, drones or AI here. DS Matt Price is skilful at reading the body language of those being questioned. And since his arrival, the "ice queen " DI Lauren Pengelly, has thawed out sufficiently to go to the pub occasionally and sometimes partake in the banter, I love the team dynamics.
Full of intrigue and twists, this is another Rigby to savour.

FBI Profiler, Leigh Brody has returned to her hometown because a killer is copying the murder from twenty years ago of two boys. One of those boys was Troy, Leigh’s brother.
Leigh knew twenty years ago who killed her brother but nobody believed her and instead arrested her father for the killings.
This time is no different and even if she has to go it alone, Leigh is going to prove who the killer really is. Drama fills this book with different characters all having their own agenda against Leigh and she must constantly be on guard. A good psychological thriller with tense writing throughout the book and several twists at the end that really surprised me. I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy. This review is my personal opinion.

Detective Lauren Pengelly and her deputy Matt Price are back in this third book in the series.
Its starting to get like catching up with old friends, I love this series.

When a teenager is found murdered the whole team is on the case to find out who did it, when another young girl turns up dead are they dealing with a serial killer.

The race is on to find the murderer, can Lauren and Matt crack the case.

A fast paced read which kept me gripped

Set in the beautiful countryside of Cornwall, the unique specifics of the murders in this novel are intriguing, giving the detectives a real puzzle to solve. The bodies of lovely young women were found oddly posed on rocks at the water’s edge with cryptic messages in their mouths. DI Lauren and her sergeant Matt lead a team charged with unraveling the mystery and bringing the guilty to justice.
The characters are well written with clearly defined personalities, making them come alive to the reader. DI Lauren is strong and decisive, making her character easy to like while showing a woman as an excellent leader. It was a pleasurable read with one small caveat. I feel that the subplot involving Lauren’s family could have benefited from a more satisfying ending. This may, however, be intended for resolution in the next novel in the series. I enjoyed the story.

Lauren Pengelly is back and with the help of Matt is now running a more successful team who are gelling together more fluidly.
They are called to a young women’s body found on the rocks at first glance it looks like a suicide but on closer examination it’s definitely murder. They begin their investigation and rumours are that her boyfriend has a temper and isn’t as innocent as he claims. But then another body turns up and Lauren feels time is running out in this beautiful scenic town there is more going on than she knows.
Well written and love the twists and turns of the investigation and the relationship developing between Lauren and her team especially Matt and his daughter. Can’t wait for the next one.

Fun, cozy mystery in the beautiful setting of Cornwall. A couple of bodies, each with mysterious sayings documented on paper in their mouths. Lots of nice twists. A little more focus on the personal lives of the detectives than I like, but definitely fun.

As a. newcomer to this series, it took a bit of time for me to feel a part of the community.
The Author did a great job with character backstory and I began to enjoy the group almost
right away. I enjoy British set novels, and the details that run through the book. I began
trying to see ahead to where things might go, but I was not successful. This is a good
thing when I must wait to learn where a story is going to land.
I was literally glued to the story and read it in two sittings.
My thanks to Storm Publishing via NetGalley for the download copy
of this book for review purposes.
There is a nice surprise upon finishing the book! .

While I love the dynamics of Lauren Pengelly and her team, this one fell a little short for me. It felt like the team was bumbling and fumbling and grasping at straws. It seemed they ended up getting lucky just figuring out the murders. And maybe that’s reality, maybe not every case has solid leads and logical conclusions.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a copy of "Murder at Land's End" in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third book in the Cornwall Murder Mystery series, set in Penzance with the Devon and Cornwall Police. The story takes place between Monday, June 10th and Sunday, June 16th.

DI Lauren Pengelly calls her DS Matt Price, asking him to cancel plans because a body has been found and it looks suspicious - a drowning at Land's End. The victim Sophie Bethany Yates was training to be a female fisherman on The Siren's Call but her parents were unaware as they did not approve of her choices.

There is a small group of suspects who all have motives including Sophie's boyfriend Stephen Finch. When another body is found in similar circumstances and it turns out to be a friend of Sophie's there are many threads that the team follows - and they start to wonder if they truly have one case or two that they are investigating. Once the reason for the murders becomes apparent, all the pieces fall into place.

The team in this story is becoming more of an actual team, not the way they were in the first book. Lauren is becoming easier to get along with (probably the influence of Matt on the team) and she's doing a lot less micromanaging and trust her team more. We learn that she has an incredible soft spot for Matt's daughter Dani and enjoys letting her play with her two dogs.

The team claims that the incidents in Penzance have grown since Matt arrived, so hopefully that means the reader can look forward to more stories from Ms. Rigby!!!

I have read some of Sally Rigbys previous books and really enjoyed them like the Cavendish and Walker series so was excited about reading this Cornwall series. This is book 3 in this series and all have been really good and this was no exception. A great police procedural with a fast paced storyline and some twists and turns to keep me interested. A few red herrings thrown in to put the reader off makes for a great book. Keep them coming Ms Rigby!

What a magnificent series! Lauren, Matt and the team are trying to solve two murder cases which have several connections between them. Through pure, solid detective work, they slowly start putting all the pieces together. I love British police procedurals and this series is proving to be one of the best I've read in a long time. Good detective work, a great team dynamic that's getting better with each book, and a developing friendship between Lauren and Matt. I look forward to many more books in this series.

DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price are called to a murder scene. A woman's body has been found on the beach with a cryptic message in her mouth, lines from a poem.
The team uncover secrets kept from the woman's family, and then another body is found.

I enjoyed this, the second that I have read in this series. Lauren has made a lot of headway in slotting in with her team, and becoming popular.
She is growing closer to Matt, and I wonder if there is a budding romance in the offing? Will have to wait and see!!

With lots of twists and wrong turns, the team uncover a lot more than murders.

Thanks to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.

I enjoyed the plot very much! I also found it good that the police team got on well with each other. However, I found the narrator rather irritating in the overall dull and flat comments about the investigation and people 's feelings. That was a shame.
I received a digital copy of this novel from NetGalley and I am leaving voluntarily an honest review.
