The pacing, plot as it develops, and the magical threads are beautifully written and blossom with each page. Seeing the individual and combined journeys along with the magic, mystery, and obstacles found in this realm and in the next make for a great experience.

A classic, cute, cozy fantasy. It was short and sweet, and it's certain to pull on the heartstrings of anyone who grew up close to their sisters. (And sometimes misses their relationship in childhood as an adult.)

Love the cover as well - thanks to Netgalley, Stacy Sivinski, and Atria Books for this eARC!

The Crescent Moon Tearoom was a fun read about three sister witches who are being forced on different paths. As someone who isn’t keen on miscommunication tropes, I found myself wanting to shake each of the sisters to just talk with one another! But there were a couple of twists I wasn’t quite expecting and I thought the story was well written. I really loved the use of magic throughout the story and the concept of the tasks. I found myself emotional at the end and rooting for these sisters to find a way to follow their paths while fixing their relationship.

The Crescent Moon Tearoom is a cozy historical fantasy set in Chicago, about the Quigley triplets, sisters who have inherited a magical house and witchy powers from their mother’s side of the family. Anne, Violet, and Beatrix operate a tearoom near the shopping district that caters in sweets and fortunes for their customers. Their specialties are reading tea leaves to tell the future and magical pastries that lead their patrons to keep returning for more. The Crescent Moon is a successful business, but fate has something else in store for the sisters and it looks like they will have to pull out all the stops to hold on to the shop and each other.

This was an easy and light read, best served with Earl Grey and raspberry scones. Each sister has her own distinct talent and personality, and I couldn’t possibly pick my favorite. Out of all the characters, though, the best is actually the sentient house! I want to pack my bags and move right in! My only real concern is that it seemed like each of the obstacles were too easily solved, with very little complexity. This is perfect for the overall cozy mood, but leaves the plotting a little flat, with very little detail to the twists. Still, I very much enjoyed the story and would recommend it for fans of the feel good fantasies such as A Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches or Legends and Lattes. If that’s your vibe, this book is for you!

Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for the ARC copy of this debut novel by Stacy Sivinski. The Crescent Moon Tearoom publishes on October 1, 2024.

This was a wonderfully done debut novel from Stacy Sivinski, it had everything that I was looking for from the description and from this genre. The characters were everything that I wanted and thought the overall feel of the fantasy element. It worked with the use of clairvoyant elements and enjoyed the sisters bond. I look forward to read more from Stacy Sivinski.

First off, the cover is absolutely delightful. This book was so sweet and cozy and fun and charming and I loved every minute of it. I was laughing and crying and rooting for these 3 sisters and their shop the whole book. I loved everything about this book and can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy as it will be a new comfort read for me that I turn to time and time again.

A sweet, cozy fantasy perfect to curl up with on a rainy weekend! I loved the family dynamics and the love from the house most of all- it might have been my favorite character. I think this would be a great read to ease into Halloween since it's more sweet than spooky, but brings you into that change-of-season, Practical Magic vibe. I found the prose a bit trite at times, but I think that's a hallmark of the genre. The pacing also suffered in the middle as the sisters each dealt with their secrets- it felt a bit repetitive switching between each of their perspectives because the plot wasn't really moving forward as time passed. I cringed a little bit at the Earhart reference but it was so brief that it was mostly on me for focusing on it. I think the amount of tea references was perfect- I feel like any book set in/around food can too easily fall into including it on every page, and was well-balanced here. Overall, it left me daydreaming about a slightly magical Chicago that I'd love to visit!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Witchy vibes are super hit or miss for me. Sometimes they feel campy, and sometimes they're just too boring with not enough lift. The Crescent Moon Tearoom was such a pleasant and cozy little read that I find myself hopeful to pick up another witchy book sooner rather than later! These three sisters running their quaint tea shop (and maybe reading some tea leaves) are living a quiet life until one small hiccup changes everything, throwing their magic out of whack and unfurling a family curse that could break them all apart.

I loved the hi-jinks feel of this book, while still remaining cute and cozy. It felt very Gilmore Girls to me with a magical element, which I think will be right up the alley of those fans. It did feel a little campy at times, but I didn't mind that element! It was fun, a touch zany, and still relatable for anyone who's ever had a quarrel with a sibling. No spoilers, but this would be a cute book club read come fall.

4.5. This gripped me from the start. This is full of delightfully whimsical anecdotes like a time traveling cat and a sentient house that play tricks on one another, triplets who don’t know the exact date of their birth but celebrate on the first snowfall, etc. The narration style was so interesting to me as well. I did find in the beginning that I was having trouble keeping track of whose pov I was in, but I quickly adjusted and loved it! It was such a cozy read that would be perfect by a fire with a warm drink and a sweet treat. Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for this eARC in exchange for an honest review

I received this book for honest feedback.

I absolutely fell head over heels for this novel. Witches, tea, turn of the century. What more could I ask for?!

Anne, Beatrix, and Violet are triplets and witches. They own a tearoom in Chicago at the turn of the century, and read the future for their clients. The council that is over their coven has given them a tough job. They must help three witches find their tasks before they pass on.

During this tale, we watch all three sisters live out their own stories, and become more than just the Quigley sisters. They learn to do the things that make them happy as individuals, while keeping their sisterly bond in tact. This is definitely a must read!

I found out that the author is a professor at a college local to me! That was such a cool tidbit knowing I was reading something from someone I could pass on the street.

I think there are folks that will be big fans of this but ultimately the writing wasn’t engaging enough for me to be drawn in. By the end of this i was simply skimming to the end out of sheer determination to finish it, but i didn’t feel particularly enamored of the writing or any of the characters. It is however, absolutely itching to be a movie and i could see it excelling in an adaptation for the screen.

If you liked reading Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries, The Night Circus, or the Caraval series, you're sure to love this enchanting and whimsical tale of three sister witches, Violet, Anne, and Beatrix, as they run the Crescent Moon Tearoom in Chicago. Serving up magical blends of teas to give you comfort and sweets to entice, the sisters use divination to read the futures of those that visit their tearoom. A few years after the death of their mother, Clara, who could have been the high Diviner of their coven, the sisters are visited by the Council to assist three witches in completing their magical tasks. If not completed, the Crescent Moon Tearoom is threatened to be closed. In the midst this challenge the sisters face adversity themselves as each sister develops a sense of their own life's purpose and wishes. Will they be able maintain their strong sister bonds or will following their own dreams signal an end to the dream of running the Crescent Moon Tearoom together?

I loved this book so much as it's equal parts cozy, delightfully poignant, and the imagery so vivid. Although the sisters are triplets, they are each so different from each other and I adored their relationship with each other, and the tension described between them. I am also such a fan as of an enchanted house that has its own unique personality as it interacts with those that dwell there. Asides from the house, we also have a delightful cat, Tabitha, who is able to travel through time. This is another bonus for me as I am a fan of magical creatures with substance. This is an easy entry point read for a first foray into fantasy reading. This is also low on spice content which may appeal to certain readers. This is perfect reading with a cup of tea, a treat, and snuggling into your favourite blanket. It's pure magic!

I will definitely be recommending this read to all of my reader friends!

This book was a total delight—watching three grown sisters figure out who they are and what they want from life was heartwarming. It's all about sisterhood, with a touch of magic that makes everything feel warm and cozy. Each sister has her own dreams and talents, but they're all tied together by family and fate. The story unfolds beautifully, with a bit of magic and mystery that kept me turning the pages. It's like a cozy version of 'Charmed' with a thrilling edge, and I got so wrapped up in the characters and the plot that I just couldn't put it down.

this was such a cute book, it was so heartwarming and amazing to watch as three full grown women struggled to decide who they are, and what they want out of life. Follow the triplet sisters as they face a midlife crises that no one else has ever seen. not only to they have to deal with a magical crises, as the witch council breathes down their neck to solve three major problems which could result in a fate worse than death for three other witches, but they also have to deal with a curse that threatens to tear them apart and cost them the shop they fought tooth and nail for. not only that, but each is learning truths about themselves that they have struggled against for a long time. they must be careful, because what if their newfound passions are what ends up tearing them apart? but surely, writing a book couldn't cause any problems? going to the circus to learn to fly on the trapeze couldn't hurt anyone... surely the growing magic couldn't be a threat...

could it?

this was a brilliantly written book. you get frustrated with the characters in the best way, because they're being selfish and you know it. you know what they need but they're too stubborn and proud to admit it. they must fight tooth and nail to keep their place in their magical world but every distraction feels like a threat... and a promise. i could barely put the book down i was so invested in the characters and the mystery that permeates the entire plot. if you like magic, sprinkled in with a bit of secrete keeping, a lot of mystery, and just a dash of romance, you'll love this book!

plus there's tea! and a lot of it!

Fans of Charmed won't want to miss this cozy thriller. Three sisters are running a tearoom when the Council of Witches comes calling. As events unfold, they develop powers to help take over for the local Deviner who's lost her powers. Will these new powers bring them closer together or drive them apart?

In her debut novel, The Crescent Moon Tearoom, Stacy Sivinski weaves a tale of sisterhood imbued with magic, warmth and coziness. Beatrix, Violet, and Anne Quigley, are witchy sisters grappling with a curse and encounter many obstacles on their journey to embracing their individual destinies. The story had underlying messages of honesty, communication and choosing happiness and how those things can impact familial relationships. Sivinski claims she's not a word witch, but I beg to differ; the story unfolded at just the right pace to keep me up well past my bedtime to finish the book!

The Crescent Moon Tearoom by Stacy Sivinski is a great, warming, and heartfelt fiction that is both a contemporary fiction and a magical experience all in one.

I really liked being introduced to sisters: Anne, Beatrix, and Violet Quigley. Their fates weave them together just as much as the familial and blood ties and yet they each have their own passions, talents, and hopes.

The pacing, plot as it develops, and the magical threads are beautifully written and blossom with each page. Seeing the individual and combined journeys along with the magic, mystery, and obstacles found in this realm and in the next make for a great experience.
