Summer won't last forever.

Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington) her entire life. She's learned to love her small world, with the misfit animals on her hobby farm, and her friendships with the town’s inhabitants. But when her 5-year relationship ends and her ex, town-golden-boy Ian, suddenly gets engaged, Sage needs a win—something that will convince everyone to stop pitying her all the time, and to put Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the town’s annual summer competition, would be the perfect opportunity. She just needs a partner.

Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York City until the loss of his sister left him numb, grieving, and responsible for his teenage niece Indy. When Fisher loses his Michelin star along with his love of cooking, his boss sends him and Indy to Spunes on a much-needed summer sabbatical to consult on a restaurant opening. But when clashes with the townspeople threaten his last chance to redeem himself and a kiss with his new neighbor Sage leads to dating rumors, a strategic alliance might just be the best way to turn things around.

A deal is struck. Sage will improve Fisher’s image in the eyes of the town and remove the roadblocks he is facing with the restaurant, and Fisher will be Sage’s partner for the competition. But as their pact quickly turns into steamy rendezvous, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the pair tries to savor every moment, they start to realize that summer is racing by much faster than they would like...

Filled with spicy summer fun, small-town charm, and Big Feelings, this highly anticipated romcom is Tarah DeWitt’s best yet.

I am going to talk about this book to anyone who will listen! Tarah DeWitt hasn't let me down with a swoon-worthy small-town romance yet.
First of all, I'm going to need more; more trips to Spune, and more of the Byrd family starting with Wren and Ellis.
But back to the stars of this book, Fisher and Sage. These two were just so stinking cute. I loved Fisher's grumpy pirate vibe and Sage's absolute joy for the little things in life. I felt like I personally took some sage advice from this book about living in the moment. Their love story is definitely a slow burn, but the way these two communicated with one another was just *chef's kiss* Give me a good healthy relationship any day!

I'd also be remiss not to mention Fisher's relationship with his niece and their character growth in the story. I loved watching them heal and come out stronger together. Beyond the story, there were a lot of life lessons to take away from this book and our characters put in the work to show it.

This book has it all: A+ side characters, swoony romance, and tiny goats!

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book! Catch this one when it comes out on May 21st and read if you love:

Favorite Romance novel of the year! This is stars hollow in a book format. I have been really disappointed with romance novels recently and this one felt refreshingly different and hopeful! The main characters were easy to fall in love with and I loved the small town in Oregon!! So many good quotes in this book! Loved the theme of enjoying the present and standing true in yourself .Comes out 2024!

5 ⭐️!!! Tarah Dewitt has recently become a must read author for me. I read Funny Feelings and absolutely loved it so when I saw this available I jumped at the opportunity to read it early! It did not disappoint! Tarah Dewitt writes the most relatable, flawed, real characters. Sage and Fisher were completely lovable and when you throw in a duck love story with a teen???!!! Are you kidding me??!! I cried, I laughed, I ate it up. I highly recommend this to any readers who love small town romances, character development, and/or steamy slow burns!

I was beyond excited to receive an eARC of Savor It by Tarah Dewitt and I subsequently devoured it. Savor It is a small-town romance set in Spunes, Oregon and focuses on Sage a local high school teacher and Fisher who has come to Spunes for the summer and is staying in the house next door to Sage with his niece, Indy. This book had banter, puns and some imperfect (but very loveable) characters who worked through their struggles and vulnerabilities in such a mature way making me root for them throughout the book.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, NetGalley, and the author for an eARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review. Will definitely be rereading when this book is released on May 21, 2024.

It was such a wonderful journey and I saw myself in both of them! I loved watching them grow together and learn to communicate and open up to each other!

This was my first Tarah DeWitt novel and I loved it. The writing was engaging and sucked me in immediately. I finished it in one sitting. The town was charming, the people were vibrant and had depth, and the love story was beautiful. I will definitely be reading all of Tarah’s backlist now.

This book was so good that it changed something in me. The central theme was finding joy in the present moment, conveyed through the love story of two extraordinary main characters. I both laughed out loud and cried during their journey. As says the title, I finished the book with the biggest smile on my face and wanting to savor life a little more. I cannot recommend this book enough and will definitely reread in the future. The writing transports you and will definitely make you feel all the feels, as Tarah does in all her books.

Beautiful. That’s the word that comes to mind for this book. Beauty from ashes- both Fisher and Sage carry grief, and the way they connect to one another is like watching the sunrise warm the world. It was lovely to watch Fisher grow into his role as Indy’s (his niece) guardian. How he accepted help and advice from Sage. How he and Indy came to love the small town of Spunes.

Sage experienced so much grief in her young life. I love that she loves her hometown, that she doesn’t feel the need to leave to be bigger or better somehow. That she chooses to spread love and beauty where her roots are.

I am not a crier. I flat out bawled so many times during this book because of the stunning writing.

I will gladly purchase all versions of this book when it releases in 2024.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This was such a cute story! I will not lie, the name of the city (Spunes, Oregon) is what really drew me in, but the story and characters are what kept me hooked!

Savor It is a cute, small-town romance that follows Sage, a high school teacher whose ex-boyfriend is now engaged, and Fisher, an award-winning, New York City chef whose life has turned upside down. When Fisher (and his niece Indy) rents the place next door from Sage for the summer, the two are quickly thrust into each other’s orbit. As the summer progresses, the two form an unlikely friendship that may or may not lead to something more.

I really enjoyed this book! The community of Spunes was truly one of a kind, with the best side characters (and animals) and even better banter. I loved the slow progression of Sage and Fisher’s relationship as well as the evolution and growth of Fisher’s relationship with Indy.

This was my first book by Tarah DeWitt, but it most certainly won’t be my last. Make sure to preorder or request from your library!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC!

This was my first novel by this author and I’m impressed. I love a small town romance and this one was perfect. Sage was quirky and charming in her own way. Her little farm of animals was such a cute detail. I also fell in love with Fisher. He was kind and gentle with Sage, and I enjoyed seeing him adapt to the small town life. They both came out of their shell and were able to work out their problems as a team which made them the perfect pair.

Savor It

5/5 stars

No notes. This is a perfect small town romance.

None of my complaints about small town romance hold up here. In Spunes, Oregon, the residents are bright and charming, if eccentric. Spunes has small town charm, but it doesn’t feel like just another iteration of a stereotype of a small town.

I’m glad I live in a time when I can see complex, fully-realized male main characters (MMC) in romance novels. (A la Fisher)

I laughed out loud a few times. I cried a little towards the end. It wasn’t high angst but is not a light rom com either.

I was delighted by this book. It will appeal to a wide audience.

Everything Tarah writes is so lovely, and this was no exception. It’s so tender and sweet and they had my whole heart from the beginning. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
