The book is about stitching simple repeating designs to cover small or large areas. The designs are very pretty and elegant. Each design was stitched twice, on different color fabric. One shows the large repeating pattern, and the other sample is sued for a small project, like a bag, or collar, or fabric box, or a wrap, and lots of other projects. I loved seeing how different the same design with the same colors looks on different backgrounds. Everything is stitched so nice and neat. Then they provide instructions not only how to make embroidery stitches, but also how to make sure the stitching is nice and neat - so there are instructions on how to make curves and angles, and how to fill out differently shaped areas and other things showing great attention for details. Then there are instructions and charts for the embroideries - dark colored outlines and light colored instructions with color numbers and stitches used. The patterns use DMC threads and Clover supplies. Then at last there are instructions on how to make up the projects that use the embroidery.
The whole book is so beautiful.

I received a copy of the book from NetGalley

Another gorgeous embroidery book from Yumiko Higuchi that makes me want to break out my embroidery needles and thread. Yumiko’s stitching is unbelievably perfect, but they make you believe you can embroider that way too, The projects are presented in the front of the book and then the stitch directions and project instructions are in the back, All in all a lovely book with plenty of different repeat patterns to satisfy every crafter.
Thank you to Net Galley, Shambhala Publications, Inc., and Roost Books for the eARC.

This is a small but beautiful book of repeating embroidery patterns. I love how there are colour pictures of the patterns, and then an example of how to use the design. I only wish that the actual pattern for the design and then project immediately followed the photo of the example, instead of being shown further in the book.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

I was excited to get this one! I love the author's embroidery style, and I have some of her other books. Per usual, the patterns were cute and the photos were inspiring. I'm not sure I would actually make the projects included, but I would stitch these just for fun.

I just reviewed Seamless Embroidery by Yumiko Higuchi. Thank you to Netgalley for an ebook copy.
This is a beautiful book which I will be looking for a hardcopy of. The designs are delicate and original with multiple opportunities for use, decorative designs for clothing, whimsical and colorful combinations. I am an embroidery novice but do not find the patterns overwhelming. A beautiful book!!

An absolutely beautiful book by Yumiko Higuchi. Not set out in the traditional way of a craft/sewing book which works well for this style of craft.

All of the very beautiful, interesting and well photographed projects are all displayed in the beginning of the book. Stitching instructions (with great diagrams) follow, the stitching patterns are next finishing up with directions on how to make all of the projects, after the stitcheries are completed.

Very enjoyable and a worthy addition to any craft book library. I look forward to having a go at some of these projects myself.

Thanks to Net Galley and Shambhala Publications, Inc. for a digital copy of Seamless Embroidery by Yumiko Higuchi. This book not only provides beautiful embroidery designs, but each embroidery design is paired with a different object you can make with the embroidery pattern on it. The front of the book is filled with beautiful pictures of the finished projects and the rest of the book is filled with clear and precise, photo-illustrated instructions. I think the basic stitches might not be clear enough for someone new to embroidery. If I didn't know the stitches already, I think I would have found the numbers on the photographs unclear. But other than that, the instructions are very clear. The sewing crafts in this book will be fun even when not doing the embroidery. It's a beautiful book for embroiderers of all ages.

Higuchi is by far the most talented embroidery artist out there. Her beautiful, clean lines and stitches are what all stitchers aspire to be like. I loved all the patterns in the book but especially The Trees! What is unique about these projects ( and is true in all her books) is that she not only explains the stitches, and gives a template, but she explains and gives directions to the finished objects as well.
As always 5 stunning stars!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is a really pretty book of hand embroidery patterns and projects with a delightful twist.
All of the patterns are repeatable, and sometimes interlocking, units; I can imagine all sorts of projects where you could use a single motif, and then the repeating motifs in tandem.
The author's use of colour is lovely, and even though the stitches you need to use to complete the projects are quite basic, the effect is always very artistic. The projects are simple enough for beginners, but appealing to more advanced crafters as well. The way the designs are use is sure to inspire readers to create their own projects too.
The repeating motifs are reminiscent of a lot of ethnic embroidery, but the designs are modern and varied (I really loved the chicken and egg!). The photos are clear and the instructions are well written too.
Would recommend for anyone who loves pretty sewing.
