I turned positively giddy when I received my approval email from Netgalley and could NOT wait to dive in! As one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2024, falling in love with Luke & Ellie was the best way to start off my reading for the year! I read it in a day and could NOT put it down!

Starting out, I’ve said this ever since Authentically Izzy (book 1)—Luke Edgewood is a gem. A prince among men. The embodiment of a good, godly man. He’s a quiet & steady hero, my favourite kind. And the way he handles the kids—mentoring the boys & listening to emotionally overwrought little girls? So precious. ☺️ And I’ll never get over the way he interacts with his sisters. Sure he teases their lives out, but his genuine care & thoughtfulness, the way they’re able to share the hard stuff with him and how he’s a listening ear is admirable. Perfect he is not, but he’s one of the good ones. Oh yeah, and he’s practically allergic to the word “romance” and the other h-word (Hallmark, haha). 😂 So of course, he can do nothing less than fall in love with a princess.

Ellie was a dear. She’s the prodigal princess trying to repair her tattered reputation. And along the way, she rediscovers who she really is, thanks to Luke’s encouragement, as she embraces her God-given identities & leaning into His truth, instead of listening to the tabloids narrative. She’s a quiet sort of strong, and I love her for it. Her journey & development are beautiful to behold.

As a couple, Luke & Ellie are hilarious. Their meet cute? I was dying. Absolutely dying & wheezing with laughter. Their “trope list” made things all the more humorous without feeling cliché. But despite their two different worlds, their getting off on the wrong foot, the forced proximity, and Ellie’s hidden identity, they balance each so well. I swooned, which almost never happens, and was reduced to a puddle of emotions over their dynamics. 😭🤭

A few highlights worth mentioning (… basically the whole book, haha!):

✨ “‘I’m just a girl. Standing in front of a boy. Asking him to—‘“ “Don’t you dare say it.” 😂

Compared to Izzy & Penelope’s stories, most of the book is told narrative-style and interspersed with text threads & emails. While I miss the epistolary style, let’s face it, Luke writes two sentences tops. So this was much more his style. 😂

With this being the last book of the series, the bittersweetness hit me in spades as I read the final “The End” and the curtain fell on the Edgewood Trio for the last time. But it was so much to see these darling characters get their happily ever afters—the cameo appearances of Penelope & Izzy & their fellows were so perfectly lovely!

This truly is one of my favourite contemporary series & one I both highly recommend and look forward to returning to again and again!! 💛

I just finished reading Luke's story and I'm very, very sad.

Why am I sad?

Because the epicness of Skymar romance is over! Because now I've finished the book and I wasn't done yet! Because this is by far one of my all-time favorite series' and now it's done!

But, oh, what a finish! I soaked up every single drop of this literary beauty and I'm full to bursting with joy. Pepper Basham just has a way with contemporary romance that both curls your toes and warms your heart, all while encouraging your soul and enriching your faith.

I don't quite know how she does swoony so well while keeping the romance sweet. That's most definitely a gift, and I still say she needs to teach seminars on how to do this!

A good satisfying read, a heart that's full and a teary eyed grin that makes my face hurt? Bring it! And if I waxed poetic, gushed over imaginary characters, or seriously fangirled at all... just blame it on a Basham book!

Loyally Luke is THE perfect ending to an absolutely charming series! It had me in tears one moment and laughing out loud the next. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this story, one of my most anticipated in 2024! I am basking in the joy that this book brought me, and I just want their stories to continue, is that too much to ask? This series, Authentically Izzy, Positively Penelope, and Loyally Luke is at the top of my most cherished contemporary reads.

*The sweet, funny, and supportive texts between siblings/cousins has engaged and delighted me.
*The humorous banter is just SO fun.
*The integrity of Luke, and how he quietly supports and encourages others to shine.
*How he knows and responds to his family members is a hoot.
*His love of children, especially at the orphanage is endearing
*His gruff exterior and soft heart make him irresistible. Who can resist flannel or a tux?
*Enemies to lovers, Friends to lovers, opposites attract all work in this delightful story.
*Ellie and her best friend Maeve: love the texts between them too.

Penelope and her romance tropes and Hallmark movies directed at Luke, and his responses are a riot. "Meet-cute? He growled down at his phone. Just the two words paired with the definition turned his stomach. Ridiculous. Penelope and her little powder-puff, sparkly shoes, glitter world. What did she know?"

"His welcome smile dies a slow death on his face. Before him, in a gray suit with golden hair pulled back in a familiar bun, stood Grace Kelly." "He wanted to prove Penelope wrong. He was not in some rom-com. Or worse, a Hallmark movie."

For all the fun, there is a wonderful depth to the story as well. "El, you're going to have to keep choosing to do the right thing over and over again. It's much harder to climb out of a bad reputation than to sully a good one. So just keep choosing right and let all those right choices speak for themselves."

I highly recommend Loyally Luke by Pepper Basham (and the rest of the series)!

What a way to start 2024! This fairytale rom-com would make SUCH a fantastic movie. Who can I call to make this happen? Lol

I was beyond excited to return to the small European country of Skymar. Especially when the star of this book is the absolutely endearing, slightly grumpy, flannel wearing, yet completely soft-hearted LUKE! Think Luke Danes from Gilmore Girls, but even better! His sister calls it “faux grumpiness”, which I think defines it well. Luke is a lot of testosterone surrounded by a family full of females. His “grumpy” is more an amazing combo of sarcasm and quick wit. Understandably needed to keep from drowning in his surrounding sea of estrogen.

In this story we find Luke Edgewood in the village of Crieff where he’s been hired to renovate a castle to be used as an orphanage. The most adorable meet cute happens as he’s grabbing a coffee one day and literally bumps into the woman of his dreams. A “Grace Kelly” type as he describes her. Unbeknownst to him, “Grace Kelly” (Ellie) is a LITERAL princess who has been out of the royal spotlight for quite some time after several complicated and troubling years.

There’s love, there are kisses, there’s a cozy cabin and an actual royal ball! There are beautiful moments of faith, hope, forgiveness and acceptance. And of course, more of the amazingly well written back and forth texting banter between Luke and his sisters.

I love how the author simultaneously has Luke mock Hallmark movies as he is 100% living out one of his very own. It’s hilariously well done. *chimes* You’re going to adore this book and I highly recommend adding it to your May TBR.

This is a delightful, charming story of Luke, a carpenter who is known to wear flannel shirts. He is also the brother of three sisters, Josephine, Penelope, and Izzy. Izzy is really his cousin; however, his family adopted her. He is close to them all, exchanging frequent text messages. Penelope is determined to turn Luke’s life into a Hallmark movie and does her best to make that happen.
Luke accepts a job in the country of Skymar to restore and modernize an orphanage for children. Upon landing, after a long flight from the United States, his first stop is at an airport coffee shop, where his order gets mixed up with a most annoying woman who smells like oranges and to him looks like Grace Kelly, the actress.
Princess Elliana St. Clare has turned her life around after a few years of a less than desirable lifestyle. She has taken on responsibilities she shirked during the three years of denouncing her position and living a wild life in the spotlight for all to see. One of her new responsibilities is being involved in the renovation of the orphanage.
Luke’s first day on the job is a surprise when he finds “Grace Kelly” is involved in the project. She introduces herself as Ellie, who has a degree in interior design. Ellie proves to be knowledgeable and helpful in the efforts to restore and modernize the orphanage. They develop an easy friendship and there is even a bit of a spark between him. Luke has no idea Ellie is Princess Elliana and she has not found the exact right time to tell him.
As the story progresses, there are delightful, witty, fun text messages exchanged between Luke, Penelope, and Izzy. The often-funny text exchanges add humor and often I had to stop reading because of laughing out loud.
This is a sweet, fun romantic story that I highly recommend.

An amazing book about princesses and regular guys . Luke has been asked to manage a short-term construction job in the small European country of Skymar . It is one of the two biggest orphanage and is very important to restore so that the kids which live there are happy and secured . Princess Ellie is the Patron of the orphanage
and she has to work with Luke . They met before at the airport and she wasn't very nice with him . Luke thinks she is working for the royal family and she is like Grace Kelly . Together they work and they develope feelings . When she revels to him about her past and who she really is Luke is shocked . They deside to remain friends so they can spent time together until he goes back to USA . Ellie is trying to change her image from three years ago and believes that her parents won't accept Luke as the man suitable for a princess , and Luke can't abandone his parents and job and live all his life as royal . What will they choose ? Will their love for each other win ?
I hope we will see Ellie siblings have their own book .

When practical meets whimsical. Okay, maybe not whimsical, but definitely royal. All the floofy things that Luke is NOT. And I could not have loved it more!!! Luke travels to Skymar to assist with some construction projects. Manly. Sensible. Then he experiences what Penelope would call a “meet-cute” and his whole world turns upside down. All of a sudden, things that NEVER made sense to him before start to resemble sentiments he can relate to. I adored seeing Luke experience the magic of Hallmark and chimes. Of course, Luke has to do it his way to keep some semblance of his manhood intact, but he manages to meet the perfect girl who gives him the best of both worlds. She likes action movies, she works with her hands, she happens to be a champion for kids as well, and oh yeah, she’s royal. Like tiara wearing, the king is her dad, kind of royal. And she’s perfect for Luke. Watching flannel wearing Luke lose his good sense to kisses and romance was just icing on the cake for this delightful series. The emails and texts continue between the siblings in this third installment of Basham’s Skymar setting and left me laughing out loud. While you can enjoy this is a standalone, there is so much enjoyment to be had by following all the stories that lead up to this one. I am already missing all of the characters and feel like a fourth book is necessary just for an update on where everyone settled and how they figured things out.

Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham is a wonderful contemporary romance that is the third book in the delightful Skymar series.

While I have not read the previous two books in this series and was easily able to follow, I enjoyed this so much that I now will catch up. I think readers would enjoy this one even more of they have read all three…

I couldn't wait to read Loyally Luke. I was excited when I was able to do so and loved everything about this story which not only is told through texts and emails as well as in second person but also had laughable moments.
Along with the cute meet-cute of the two main characters, banter, rom-com, and renovations of an orphanage in a castle, Loyally Luke is a hilarious read with romance and great characters. I loved the progression of Princess Elliana St Clare and Luke's relationship.

Y'all, I have loved Pepper's series set on Skymar and I've been begging for Luke's book. Harassing. Needling. Begging shamelessly since August. I got my hands on a copy and inhaled it. I laughed outloud. Multiple times. I may have cried. Seriously! I grinned like a fool. I loved it. Go preorder it now. I enjoyed the prior two books in the series... a lot. But I adored this one. Luke is the perfect hero. Perfect. He may be my first book crush since Gilbert Blythe.

LOYALLY LUKE by PEPPER BASHAM is an easy and amusing read with some depth, as we follow the growing relationship between Elliana, rhe prodigal princess of Skymar, and the “knight-in-fuzzy-flannel”, American carpenter Luke Edgewood, who has come to the village of Grieff in order to renovate the orphanage housed in an ancient castle, Cambric Hall. Ellie, as Ellie StClare, is also working there, hoping to make up for her rebellious past, which was caused mainly by unscrupulous men taking advantage of her in order to become famous. She wanrs to be reinstated as a working royal. It is “A little experiment to feel normal”, something she would love to be…..
I like the messages between Luke and his sisters, seeing their love and support for their kind and helpful brother, with their matchmaking and references to Hallmark movies! I also like the texts between Ellie and her best friend Maeve. There is a an amusing cast of characters, including the Frasiers, with Nessa Frasier being a matchmaker of note! I like to see Luke’s love for children, his great sense of humour, his faith in God and his selfless love for Ellie and understanding of her brokenness. As he says, “Fixing a broken past, well, that wasn’t his job as much as God’s and hers.”……
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I highly recommend the novel as an entertaining and inspirational read.

This book comes after Authentically Izzy and Positively Penelope. It helps to read those two first, since Basham doesn’t waste any time introducing the country of Skymar or the relationships between Izzy, Luke, Penelope, Josephine and their significant others. Once again, I had a horrible time putting the book down, laughed hysterically, and ignored everything else on my to do list to finish it. I hate to say goodbye to these special characters, so Basham needs to figure out how to write more books about Skymar!

Pepper Basham has done it again! What a wonderful romance! I loved every minute of it. There were texts as in previous books, but that was only a minor ( but important) part! There were swoony kisses too in Luke’s story. Izzy and Penelope played parts, especially in texts. I really enjoyed reading this book! I received a free copy from NetGalley, but my review is my own opinion.

If you fell in love with authentically Izzy, then you will definitely fall in love with loyal Luke. humor, I couldn’t put down authentically Izzy, and I definitely cannot put down this amazing book.

Luke's story is everything I hoped for and more. I was smiling the entire book either from humorous banter & situations or heart melting interactions. Luke and Ellie are genuine, humble, loving, loyal, strong, and realistically flawed leads supported by friends and family who make the character depth so much richer. Ellie is the perfect match for Luke. I love them as a pair. The way their faith was shared throughout the pages knit with my soul.

This story invites you to become part of the Edgewood family as they explore new lands, adventures, relationships and friendships so true-to-life readers are fully immersed in the world and lives of the characters. I wanted to jump into the group texts with my own interjections.

So many scenes became instant favorites: the meet-cute (*chime*, sorry Luke), the closet, conversations with the children, the reveals, the first kiss, twitterpated Luke, the cabin, and so many others. My heart is full to bursting. How are any other books supposed to follow this one? I'm in a full book hangover.

The entire Skymar series is a forever favorite. There is not one book I like better than another. I cannot find the words to fully express how much I love this author or how her stories touch my heart and life. I will treasure the Skymar series and revisit them time and again.

I would give Loyally, Luke 10 stars if I could!! Words cannot express how much I loved this book and the rest of the series! I’m a bit sad it has come to an end.
It was all so perfect from the movie quotes, the Hallmark references to Luke and Ellie’s budding relationship.

This book is so much fun to read. I love the texts between Luke, Izzie, and Penelope. I also like the one’s between Ellie and Maeve. The dialogue between Ellie and Luke is clever too. I had to laugh at Luke’s reaction to Hallmark movies and the chimes. This is a very uplifting book and when it ended I felt better for reading it.

I’ve said this about both Authentically Izzy and Positively Penelope but I’m gonna say it again because it’s completely true for Luke’s book too— this book made me really, really happy.❤️ I’ve loved Luke’s character since I read Authentically Izzy so I’ve been looking forward to his story for a while now. Well, it was wonderful and I absolutely loved it! I’m pretty sure I didn’t stop smiling the entire time I was reading it.🥰

This book was all Luke and his personality and I was here for it! He’s the type of guy who hides how much he cares behind humor and sarcasm. He’s really sarcastic and funny but he’s also really thoughtful and kind. As an introvert and more laid-back person myself, I also find him really relatable. Oh, and he loves kids so that just makes me like him even more. Basically I just love his character so much!
Watching him fall in love with Ellie was both really entertaining and really sweet. I loved it.❤️
As for Ellie, I really liked her! She was definitely a princess worth rooting for and a wonderful match for Luke. I loved how she was striving to be a better person and move on from her past.
Their romance was both funny and sweet! Luke and Ellie’s banter was everything. From the meet-cute to the many tropes in their relationship, it was a fun ride.☺️

One of my favorite things about this series is the sibling dynamics. I just love the Edgewood siblings! As a southern girl myself, I just get them so well.🥰

I laughed out loud numerous times which doesn’t happen very often with books. I LOVED the humor! I needed a good laugh and this book gave me that. The Edgewood siblings’ group chat is one of the most entertaining and hilarious things ever, especially Luke’s sarcastic replies.😂

I love that this book not only has lighthearted and funny moments but also has deep and meaningful moments too. I love the faith content in this book, especially the parts where Luke talks about his faith. It also had a really good message about finding your identity in God which I loved.❤️

In conclusion, I loved this book! It was such a fun read with a good message. I love these characters soo much so saying goodbye is bittersweet but I know I’ll want to revisit these books in the future.🥰

Pepper Basham, need I say more? Loyally, Luke is a book for everyone, and by everyone I mean everyone. My older teens will be reading this along with all my friends. The relationship between Luke and his "sisters", is so lovely, and his interactions with other characters in the story. He melts your heart.

*Spoiler alert*. Don't you just love a great happily-ever-after?! This one does not disappoint. Swoon-worthy flannel-wearing heroes and true princesses just can't be beat. If you're looking for a feel-good read, you've found it in Loyally, Luke. Recommended.

Luke Edgewood is headed to Skymar to help out with some construction projects and his sister Penelope and cousin Izzy (who is more like a sister than a cousin since she was raised with the Edgewood family) both hope he’ll find love in Skymar – after all, they both recently found their happily-ever-after's there. Luke has been hurt in the past, and isn’t sure that love is in the cards for him, and when he (literally) runs into Ellie St. Clare at the airport and things get off to a rough start, he’s sure he’s right. Little does he know that Ellie is also overseeing one of the construction projects he’s been hired to work on and he’s going to be spending a lot of time with her … he also doesn’t know she’s a Princess.

Luke Edgewood is a swoon-worthy character if there ever was one! I’ve greatly enjoyed his character through this entire series and was so excited when I found out he was going to get his own book, and his story did not disappoint! Luke is a builder who loves to wear flannel and is very down-to-Earth. He’s also very committed to those he loves. I think what makes Luke such a loveable character is the fact that he has a softer side that he is most definitely not afraid to show, but having grown up with 3 “sisters” he also doesn’t like to talk about all the frou-frou and his replies during the sibling’s text message chains can be downright hilarious!
This novel could be read as a stand-alone, but I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series -- “Authentically, Izzy”, and “Positively, Penelope”, I think having read those first made reading “Loyally, Luke” an even more enjoyable experience. My only complaint with this story was that it had to end!

Am I allowed to love the third book in a series the most?!

I loved everything bookish and epistolary about "Authentically, Izzy." I positively adore the pure delight that is "Positively, Penelope."

But "Loyally, Luke"? His wry sense of humor, his careful craftsmanship, and his endless patience with his sisters make him a humble hero in every sense of the word. He aims for that delicate balance between fixer and friend. And he's loyal to home and family.

Pepper Basham writes books with characters who feel like friends—and in this case, they feel like family, because Luke reminds me of the best men in my life (my husband, daddy, brothers, and guy cousins).

I shrieked throughout the whole book, it was that cute. I love a grumpy and sunshine character duo and this book brought it all. As someone who adores European countries and want to escape through the characters, this one was perfect. 10/10, all the stars. Get ready to fall right off a cliff in love with these characters.

Luke's humorous and hard working personality shine here, but his encouragement to a discouraged princess brings out the best of him. A bit of a pride and prejudice beginning quickly turns into a mutual respect friendship and more. For sure a romance, with some sighworthy kissing moments, but it is squeaky clean otherwise.
I enjoyed the banter with his sisters in texts and emails--still laugh out loud funny to read--yet this time they were more about encouraging Luke. The heart-to-heart talks with the little girl, Faye were heart melting. Who can resist a guy who cares enough to take the time to stop and listen to a little girl?
The author adds a welcome message of hope and inspiration interjected briefly into conversations without weighing down the plot. Knowing that we aren't lost causes no matter how many mistakes we make, is something many of us need to hear. Dealing with family expectations is also a struggle many people can relate to at different stages of life.
Recommend reading the previous books in the series to thoroughly enjoy this one. Hoping there will be another. 4.5 stars

Book #3 in the Skymar series, you really will need to read book 1, Authentically Izzy, and book 2, Positively Penelope, to understand all the subtle and not subtle nuances. I will admit that Loyally Luke is my favorite because, well, Luke.


Basham continues with the same writing style (epistolary) as the first two books, so many emails and texts, however she adds a lot more face to face interaction to this one. And does it so well that the styles meld together easily.


I absolutely love this family of siblings/cousins and was so sorry to see the series end. But what an ending. A true to life princess meets a lumberjack style builder. Sparks fly. Doubts fly. You’ll need to read it to find out what happens because I was gobsmacked.

Just when you think a series could not get any better, along comes Luke’s story. When grumpy standoffish Luke falls head over heels for a real life princess, you can’t help but fall in love with him and this amazing cast of characters along the way.

Poor Luke (who is a Rambo watching, flannel wearing, manly man) feels like he is stuck in a Hallmark movie of the worst kind. Then, just when he thinks it can’t get any worse…well…it does. This books was such a fun read. I would HIGHLY recommend the whole series.

I have been holding my breath for this book. Positively Penelope was my IT book of 2023 and Luke became such a staple character for me in both Authentically Izzy and Positively Penelope...so his book was at the top of my MUST READ list of 2024.

I am not disappointed.

What I love about Luke: his sarcasm (first and foremost-I love anything that will make me laugh out loud and Luke can do this at almost every phrase that comes out of his mouth). I also love his relationship with so many women: sisters, cousin and of course Ellie! I can't even count how many lines of his I highlighted throughout my initial read through. (That's right, this book has already been read more than once this year!)

Ellie is such a fun and complex character. I love her redemption path and her step back into the Royal family. It's relatable (well maybe not the royal part, for all of us commoners.) But that sometimes we take a different path in life and we can always find our way back. I also loved the meet-cute, their second meet-cute, and literally everything that followed. She is perfect for Luke. I loved that she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and be an actual help in everything she was doing.

I loved the setting, I loved the small town charm feel, I loved the off-limits romance and Roman Holiday vibe, I loved the royals...you get the picture, right? I loved it all!

I really didn’t want the book to end. I want more of Ellie and Luke. I love all their scenes together. I loved the orphans girls and how Luke talked to them. This will be a story that will stay with me for a while.

A perfect continuation in the Skymar series. This time we follow Luke and his journey to happily ever after. If this isn’t your first rodeo reading about the Edgewood siblings, then you already know about Luke. It was wonderful finally being in his shoes and seeing how much more there is to his character and how wonderful he truly is. He is in Skymar doing some construction work and trying to avoid hallmark moments at all costs, until a certain blonde-haired, Grace Kelly look-alike enters the picture. I love Ellies' character, how she has grown from her past mistakes and trying to show everyone she is a new person. She brings out such a wonderful side to Luke that we don’t get to see in the other books, and Luke is exactly what Ellie needs. Their moments together will make you swoon, and you might just hear those chimes that Penelope is so sure of.


The wonderful Edgewood siblings make appearances and add so much laughter to the story. You honestly cannot help but smile when they have interactions between them. Pepper has done such a wonderful job at creating a family that shows what love and support looks like.
I promise you will be wishing you belonged to this family.

Pepper Basham is such a master rom-com writer, she always has the perfect recipe of romance and humor. She has created a world and characters that everyone who reads falls in love with. Loyally, Luke was no exception. You will fall in love with all the characters and be rooting for another happily ever after.

Such a delightful way to end the series! Luke is everything I expected from the first two books - and more. Basham doesn't disappoint with this funny, heartwarming, and deep read.

THIS BOOK MUST BE READ!!!! I didn't want this one to end. The chemistry between Luke and Ellie is off the charts.

The text messages between Luke and his sisters are my favorite parts of the book. I love how they tease each other, keep each other in check and encourage one another!

The addition of the kids in the orphanage was so sweet and the reader will fall in love with them and the ways that they are taken care of.

The author needs to continue to write about the people of Skymar!!!

I absolutely loved Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham. I didn’t want the book to end. I have read the entire series, and I have become throughly attached to the Edgewoods. While reading, it is like visiting old friends. This book made me laugh. It made me cry. It had me on the edge of my seat hoping everything worked out for Luke and Ellie. I recommend the entire series.

Ahhhh!!!! What a way to end this series. Swoon worthy for sure. Luke Edgewood is visiting Skymar to work on a few buildings projects for Lewis Gray. Things get off to a rough start right from the beginning in the airport. A coffee mix up followed by a rude lady and a headache that just won't quit doesn't bode well for the way this trip will go. Once at the cabin to do renovations, Luke learns he has a secret project to either accept or deny. I found myself swooning over Luke a time or two or ten. Luke befriends the orphans he comes in contact with and is faced with The rude lady from the airport who turns out to be none other than Princess Elliana St Clare ( only Luke doesn't realize this is who she is). We have front row seats to watch Luke and Ellie's friendship grow. What a ride. I love this family and their closeness. I could keep going but I'm afraid I would give spoilers and I really don't want to do that.

Okay. So where should I start my review? Well, from the beginning! Here’s the deal. You *need* to read Authentically, Izzy first. Then you *need* to read Positively, Penelope. And then and only then will you be prepared for the awesomeness that is Loyally, Luke. Because without the context of the first two books, this story is probably not going to seem nearly as funny or as perfect-for-Luke as it actually is.

For those of you who have already read books 1 & 2 of the Skymar trilogy, I’m
assuming that, like me, Luke is actually your favorite character of the series and you’re super excited for book 3. I know I couldn’t wait to read it! (So thankful I got to read the ebook ARC via NetGalley!)

All I’m going to say about Loyally, Luke is that you’re in for a treat! Luke’s story is, of course, full of hilarious snarkiness as well as moments of sappiness and romance—those things Luke *didn’t* want in his book (and yet, he did, he just didn’t know it.)

Pepper Basham’s characters are beautifully imperfect. Flawed, yet forgiven. Works-in-progress. So very much like real people. Even her royal characters are wonderfully realistic. Forgiveness and trust are a couple of the faith themes I noticed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Christian romcom story! I’d recommend this series to adult readers (maybe even older teens) who enjoy books with clean romance and lots of laugh-out-loud moments.

LUKE. Oh my gosh. I LOVEDDDD this book. I have so many thoughts.

I already loved the first two in the series but Luke has been undeniably my favorite. It's a little meta with all the talk of tropes and Hallmark romance and such but it so worked for me. Luke is AMAZING, of course. Ellie was such a compelling character and I would have loved even a little more from her perspective just because I'm greedy and would want to be immersed in this book for as long as possible.

At only 20% in, I was smiling like crazy with the chemistry and dynamic between Luke and Ellie. The previous books in the series relied much more heavily on email and text communication for quite a bit of the book. This one has much less of that - and for me, that worked very well and kept a quick pace.

This is the fourth Pepper Basham novel I've read and she's quickly becoming a MUST read author. She writes characters so well. They are likeable, relatable, realistic, and multidimensional. I love how the whole princess-trope was written - it worked SO well here and I think it would be pretty hard to write that in a compelling way.

LOVED their meetcute. LOVED the banter. Loved the side characters. Plot pace was great. I stayed up late grinning in the dark reading this on my kindle. Laughed out loud about them talking about their accents together (and also really want to listen to this when I can on audio). (I listened to the audio of Positively, Penelope and the narration is AMAZING so I used those voices in my head while I read this lol).

If anything, I just wanted MORE. I literally want to read about these characters continuously. I need a novella about Josie (is it friends to more? that's what I feel like it would be for her!).

Anyway this is the most disjointed review and I'll have to rewrite it for GR and IG but for here, I just want to say that this was a SOLID 5 star book and I HIGHLY recommend.

Loyally Luke is the 3rd book in a precious series about cousins/siblings. Luke has that gruff feel that reminds me a lot of Luke from Gilmore Girls. Unbeknownst to him, he starts falling for a princess.
Their story is a cure! A little cheesy at times with all of the comments about Hallmarks and tropes but it is what made the story enjoyable! Cheesy isn't always bad. Sometimes it is exactly what is needed. I laughed a lot and look forward to the possible side stories that may come!

I didn't think that this book was going to disappoint-- I'd loved Luke's character in Authentically Izzy and Positively Penelope, so knowing that Luke was going to get his own story had me a tad excited. And this book did not disappoint.

If you like reading a clean, Christian romance, this book is definitely one for you. It's sweet, cute, and downright amazing. Why can't I have a Luke of my own? And why isn't Skymar a real place? I want to go visit it!

ABsolutely charming and beautiful story about a princess. And a backwoods carpenter.
As Luke's sister loves to remind him, it sounds like a movie. (and boy does he hate hearing that!! ;) )
Luke agrees to do a remodel project on the island of Skymar, and befriends the project manager, Ellie.
(oops - maybe I should have mentioned...He had a bad first meeting with her at the very beginning of the book) They manage to overcome their terrible intro and go on to become friends.

It isn't until quite a bit later that Ellie finally tells him that she is actually the princess.
This is unfortunately, after their hearts are already rather invested.
I'm not sure how much I can say here without giving away anything. But, after all, it is a romance, and I think it's safe to say the ending is maybe a teeny bit predictable.
What was unpredictable was the path to arrive there. And this was SO much fun to read about.

Lots of spark and romance, angst, because there seemingly was no way for them to be a part of each other's lives.
Sigh.
Pepper Basham, you've done it again! Written such a lovely story. It makes me very sad to leave these delightful characters behind. I do believe this Skymar series is my new favorite of all your books.

Wow, it was so delightful! I loved all the banter and fun moments with the siblings, but I also loved the wonderful surprises between Luke and Ellie. Oh, the tension and drama!
There were times I wanted to jump on a plane and find this small village and all the wonderful people in this community who protected and honored its royalty. It all sounded so enchanting!
I’ve decided that Luke actually is one of those “Hallmark heroes” and even though he tries to say he’s not a romantic type, he truly is one!
This book is mostly written as an Epistolary novel. If you’re not familiar with what that is, it’s where the story unfolds mostly through texts, emails, and phone calls by the characters. It’s not as much as the first book in this series, but it’s still a significant part and I’ve found that I LOVE it!
The banter and dialogue flow so smoothly and it brings life to each character. I could just hear their wit and relate to many of their struggles and joys.
Pepper Basham presented a charming tale that had depth and humor all wrapped up in the conversations these characters had. There were also bits of wonderful life lessons that deeply touched my soul.
I highly recommend you pick this book up for a delightful read. You just might find yourself dreaming of taking a trip across the ocean.

I just finished an amusing, but touching book by Pepper Basham called Loyally Luke. Luke is a flannel wearing outdoor type who likes working with his hands and has gone to Skymar to help repair some buildings. There he meets a beautiful woman who he compares with Grace Kelly. Now Luke is not looking for romance at all because he will be going back to North Carolina very soon. Also he is nothing like his cousin Penelope in that he has never seen a Hallmark movie that he liked. He fights the attraction that he feels for the "Grace Kelly" look alike. Loved... Loved... Loved it! Absolutely perfect!

Picking up where we left off in Positive, Penelope, Loyally, Luke - as the name suggests - takes us on a romantically swoony journey as Luke's love story unfolds. And oh what a beaut!

“From your lips to the heavens" a phrase I first heard from my one of my ex colleagues. She always used to say "From your lips to God's ears." It has become one of my favourites through all the years.

The "I am just a girl..." quote got me in tears. It was so fitting, along with almost everything else. Loyally, Luke is beautifully written.

Luke is in Skymar for a temporary job and espite his sister's insistence that he will find romance while there, he is firmly set against it. That is until he meets Ellie. Graceful, charming, and down-to-earth, he cannot stay away and falls for her more every time they are together.

Ellie knows she and Luke can never be together, but she enjoys having a genuine relationship with someone who doesn't know who she is. Despite him being off-limits though, she knows she is falling and falling fast. Which could only end in disaster. Because Hallmark movies are only make-believe, right?

Can I just say how absolutely refreshing it was to read a romance between two mature (as in behavior, not age) adults who actually act like adults? I mean, Luke was still unapologetically Luke - kinda grumpy, flannel-wearing, witty sarcastic with a heart of gold - but he is also straightforward. Their story is full of a lot of classic tropes but miscommunication wasn't one of them!

I was completely invested in the characters and could not figure out how they were going to get their happily ever after but Pepper must be a fairy godmother because she made it happen and it was perfect.

This series has my whole heart and I am now a Pepper fan for life!

Oh-My-Gosh, Oh-My-Gosh!!! I have been waiting for Luke's story since Ms. Basham started the Skymarian series, and she did not disappoint in fact it was better than I could've ever imagined!! Luke is so against romance, especially all the princessy-ness but once he meets Princess Ellie all bets are off!! Not only does she knock his socks off, but she also shows that princesses aren't all girly.
I love this book!!! Luke is one of my favorite heroes and I hope Ms. Basham continues this series. Izzy, Penelope, and Luke are such fun siblings and I am hoping this isn't the end of their stories.

Loyally, Luke is the best contemporary romance books I've read this year! I've been waiting for this one to come out and it did not disappoint. If you have read and enjoyed Pepper Basham's other books in this series, "Authentically, Izzy" and "Positively, Penelope" you will love reading Luke's story as well. If you haven't read them, go pick them up then read them in order. They can be standalones but they definitely are best in order.

Luke is a humble man from Appalachia that grew up with 2 sisters and his cousin who is like a sister. They constantly surround him with wonderful romantic movie stories, so when he goes to Skymar (a fictional country made up by the author), he meets a woman that he describes to his family as "Grace Kelly". Little did he know that she was really the Princess Elliana, the youngest daughter of Skymar's king. Luke is not one for the spotlight but but after he has fallen for the girl - he finds out she's the princess.

If you love stories that fit major romantic tropes, check this one out. The author even weaves them into the story through Luke's youngest sister bringing them up, much to Luke's dismay. This book is written with some regular story but much of the dialogue is epistolary style and is in the form of text messages. You will laugh, cringe and jump for joy with this book!

Finally—the grump—Luke gets his own story.

This is a story of opposites. Royalty vs Peasant, Black coffee vs Fancy-schmancy coffee, Rambo vs the Princess Diaries. Honesty vs Lies. And the author leans into these differences with complete awareness to tickle to reader even more.

LOYALLY, LUKE is a feel-good romance. It's the dream of impossible being true with many of romance readers' classic all time references and scenes. His sisters are vested in his happily ever after (supported with many pop culture references), but he doesn't think it's possible. Neither does his love interest.

The fun is watching how this all plays out.

I have nothing to say except ... I LOVED THIS! I was so sad when it was over, and now, I have the biggest book hangover. Pepper Basham has a talent for writing amazing romcoms. She makes all my Hallmark dreams come true without being cheesy, and her characters are always three-dimensional with distinct personalities.

After adoring Positively, Penelope, I wasn't sure any book could beat it, but surprise! Loyally, Luke knocked my socks off. I loved it just as much as Positively, Penelope, and now I can't wait to get my hands on another book written by Pepper Basham.

Luke Edgewood, the third unmarried Edgewood, has made it to Skymar to help with a couple construction projects. Little did he know what he was getting into. There would be royal run-ins, fun with children at the orphanage and many other humorous moments. Will he end up a with his movie script love story?
Pepper Basham is so good at interweaving humor with sweet moments and then also mixing in Faith elements. I enjoyed this book so much and I can’t wait to read/listen to it again when it releases.
I would recommend this book to all those readers of Christian fiction books who love fairy tale type stories. One might even consider it a flipped story. The faith element is more on the light side so if they bothers you this might now be the book for you. I loved it

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read Loyally Luke. It's a fun story, with some 'unlikely' romance,' 'fairy godparents,' and enough humor to get through the awkward situations.

The lessons on forgiveness, both forgiving others and accepting forgiveness/forgiving yourself are beautifully woven into the story. I appreciated the way that was so natural and shown to be hard, simple, and necessary.

Luke is so cool. I would definitely want him as a friend. And I don't say that often about book characters. Even the ones I really like. He's patient and wise and compassionate. And his faith is a driving force in his life. But at the same time as he has those good qualities, he's not perfect. He has his fears and faults.

Ellie had made some poor choices and spent several years recovering from them and trying to restore her trust in herself, as well as earning her family's trust. Stepping out to take on this new, more public role was a truly scary thing. She does it well, stumbles and all. Her healing journey is a great example of overcoming our past and not being controlled or limited by it.

Sigh! I loved, loved, loved Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham! Having read Authentically, Izzy and Positively, Penelope, I couldn’t wait for Luke’s story, yet I didn’t want this series to be over! I think if you read this series and love rom-coms, you’ll feel the same! Disclaimer: Though the book says it is a stand-alone novel, don’t read it without first reading Izzy and Penelope. You won’t understand the dynamics among Luke and his siblings/cousin, and you’ll get major spoilers from the first two novels. The first two are so completely amazing,so you won’t regret reading them first! Really, the only negative reviews I’ve seen are from those who haven’t read the others because they don’t get it! I feel like I wouldn’t get it either if I didn’t know the other characters. So, to sum up this section of my review: read the novels in order!!

Izzy’s and Penelope’s novels are written mainly in the epistolary-style…mostly texts and emails among the siblings/cousins/other characters. Luke’s isn’t. Yes, there are still lots of texts, but it’s a way smaller percentage. It fits Luke’s personality perfectly.

I’ve loved getting to know Luke. Being brought up with girls, he’s been surrounded by girly stuff, so he’s gotta play the tough guy, macho movie watching guy, sort of grumpy guy role. However, if you really know him, you know that underneath it all, he’s really an amazing man. I love Ellie and her story because it paints a wonderful picture of redemption. She’s messed up in the past, but she’s spent time repairing the damage done to her and her family. I also love that her parents are loving and supportive although there are times when her mom plays the “We have to look perfect” card. I think we play that card with ourselves sometimes thinking that we have to look perfect in order for God to be happy with us. Nope. He knows us and loves us anyway.

I’m going to miss Skymar and all of the characters I’ve grown to know and love. As a dramatic bookworm, I’m totally a mix of Izzy and Penelope! And I need a Luke to come along…I’ve got a lot of projects that need to be done around the house. Okay, okay. That’s not why. He’s very swoony! I’ll miss the movie quotes and snarky comments. Most of all, I’ll miss the joy I felt reading this series for the very first time.

Luke is a solid, dependable, guys guy who was raised with a bunch of girls. Ellie is a prodigal princess trying to restore her public image while making a difference in her community. Seeing how these two meet and fall in love was a fun journey.

This was my favorite of the series!

So fun to finally get Luke's story after the previous ones. We know he's down to earth, but also loyal hence the title.
Ellie is a royal intent on reforming her old ways and she's committed to that.

I much liked this book's narrative style instead of the epistolary one of books 1 and 2. Of course, with Luke being a man of few words, it only made sense.

I really loved all the sweet moments between Ellie and Luke at the orphanage during the construction.

I highly recommend reading this one and the other two before.

This was a cute hallmark movie in novel form. A statement that gets reiterated in the book multiple times, so there’s no chance you’ll forget it.
Overall, it was a lighthearted, easy read that kept my attention. The texts and emails between the main character and his siblings were too long for my liking, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I still really enjoyed the plot and have shelved more books by the author.

Pepper saved the best for last!

In the book Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham, Luke Edgewood is the stoic, sometimes grumpy, flannel-wearing brother of the Edgewood siblings. He travels to Skymar, a small European country, for a set of construction jobs and ends up meeting his match in Elliana St. Clare. Ellie is a reformed princess who wants to prove she loves her country and is truly a new person with her royal priorities in line. When she meets Luke, a carpenter from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, she appreciates that he sees the “real” her—not the princess she has to be or used to be.

Pepper Basham’s delightful humor and dynamic characters shine in Loyally, Luke. I love the glimpses of Luke’s spunky sisters and cousin as they offer him unsolicited romantic advice via texts. The village locals and orphanage children of Crieff, the Skymarian village Luke is working in, are lovable and heartwarming secondary characters. Luke and Ellie’s budding romance had me cheering them on the whole way. Thank you, Pepper, for another great story. I have added Loyally, Luke to my list of favorites.

While you can read Loyally, Luke as a stand-alone book, it is most rewarding to read it after reading the first two.

I have been totally captivated by the Edgewood family in the Skymar series. While the fictional island is a place I would love to visit, the Edgewood family is one I would love to claim as my own. Luke is by far my favorite Edgewood, and that is saying a lot. Luke is thoroughly grounded in his faith. His no-nonsense common sense, makes him a steady influence on all he meets. I love his big heart. He is a knight-in-shining-armor in all the best ways. Luke's inner monologue and dry wit will have readers laughing out loud.

A favorite laugh-out-loud quote: ' Luke was teetering very close to the t word from Bambi-he shuddered, almost hearing Penelope say "twitterpated" in his mind...".

Readers will fall in love with Princess Ellie and root for her as she struggles to overcome her past.

While I consider this the perfect romcom, there are many moments that have depth. Another favorite quote : "My granny once said that love is much stronger than any feeling. It's a choice you make over and over again. Choosing her and what's best for her every day. "

Coming from two different worlds, Luke realizes that his romance with Ellie might be doomed from the start. Looking forward to catching another glimpse of Skymar and the Edgewood family in the future.

Loyally Luke is the third book in a series by the author following the jet-setting romances of a set of "siblings" (choosing to use the phrase used by this particular character). This book follows the POV of Luke, who appears to be a gruff guy who actually has a lot of soft spots. He's a cinnamon roll who finally gets his HEA, even after being willing to step aside for the sake of other's happiness (and a personal sense of obligation). What's sets this book apart from the others in the series is that it is mostly focused from the perspective of our main love interests. While we do see it, there is less communication and plot movement from text messages (whereas in the previous books emails were mostly used). While one can argue that this is possibly falling into a stereotype (guys don't write letters or emails), this is actually a character trait that is consistent with our male protagonist (in the previous books he often doesn't answer his messages or gives short responses). I actually really appreciated the fact that there were less text message/email correspondence in this book because it didn't force me to make a mental shift while reading the book. Plus, the transitions were much more seemless in comparison.

Enjoyable book with lovable characters in a fun setting.

Luke is such a delightful character in both his role as a brother and now as a romantic lead. Who wouldn’t love a slightly sarcastic, truly warmhearted, handsome guy in flannel?

Ellie is also an interesting character for the female lead having overcome some really bad past decisions. But this is truly a story of Grace upon Grace and redemption.

The epistolary style has been intriguing and also well used to develop and reveal the sibling relationships. Family and God are the backbone of these characters and, even though there’s some silliness, particularly from Penelope, they were all delightful.

This is a read about family, and throw in some sweet romance.

We are back in Skymar, and we are going to a wedding, and brother Luke is there to work and attend.

Enter Grace Kelly lookalike and barbs flow. You are going to love the text that go on between family and friends, with chuckles and a few tears.

Can you imagine finding out that girl that you now like is really a princess? Wow, and then poor Luke!

Come along and see how two people who won't leave their family and country, but have an intense attraction, say goodbye!

We also get to see the beauty of Skymar, and the people that live there, including the paparazzi!

Did you hear that? If you listen really closely, you'll hear me releasing a very HAPPY SIGH!!! I can't tell you how much I adore Luke Edgewood! And waiting so patiently to read his story after all of his scenes and interactions in the first two Skymar books! He is full of it! He's a broody, sarcastic, flannel wearing, hard-working man who is fiercely loyal to his family and friends.

If you haven't read the first two books, go do so now! You have time before this one releases! You won't be disappointed to come to know Luke's character and all of his quirks and ups and downs and everything! There were plenty of times when reading all three of these books that I couldn't help but think how much fun it would be to know Luke. He would be such a fun friend to have! He might make you watch Rambo to pass that friendship test, and he will make you keep the glitter and sparkle and sunshineyness at a minimum or far away from him. But once you pass those qualifications, you'll never have a better, more trusting and caring friend than Luke.

And oh my heavens, get ready for the funniest meet-cute or meet-sarcastic you've ever read! If I had been drinking something while reading that scene, I 100% guarantee that I would have spit my drink out of my mouth from laughing. Luke and Aliana Roselynn St. Claire definitely get off on the wrong foot. And neither one knows who the other is or any clue about what is coming their way! *Snickers* And let me tell you, you're all going to love it!

This whole book is utterly delightful and heartwarming mixed with a little Rambo (you'll see what I mean)! I loved every scene with Luke and Ally in it. They have some ups and downs of their own but it's all worth seeing how it plays out.

The orphange, the renovations, the cabin, the fishing, the surprises, the Royal family, the dressing up (oh my!!!), the casual flannel dressing down, the orphans, the bodyguards (hee hee), the outdoors, the little moments, the BIG moments, the learning and growth, the vulnerability, the friendships, and of course the sweet, sweet love story!!!!!!!!

You don't want to miss this one! Skip watching a chick-flick or Hallmark movie and dive right into this one. I promise you won't regret it!

OMG, this hero (all the heart eyes!)

Luke Edgewood is in Skymar for three months to help with some renovation work and attend his cousin's wedding. He ends up working with a woman he "met" in the airport where neither of them were too kind. After an apology, they are able to work together on better terms, though each soon finds themselves a little enamored with the other. It's all fun and games until Luke discovers Ellie's been keeping some very important information to herself. Despite their mutual attraction and the way their personalities and likes suit, will their very different dreams and family expectations keep them apart?

A great addition to the Skymar series with a truly swoony hero who champions those he loves.

This was my third Pepper Basham book. I listened Authentically, Izzy via audio and read the physical book of Positively, Penelope. Luke is my favorite character in this book series, so when I saw that Basham was coming out with this one, I immediately added it to my to-be-read list.

I wasn’t too sure about the book at first, as I didn’t get into it until about 30 percent in. But once that timestamp hit, I could not put this one down and finished it quickly!

There’s truly not much about this book that I didn’t like! Here is what I loved:

*The text exchanges between Luke, his sisters, and his cousin. Those were packed with banter, love, and wisdom.

*There were so many quotable quotes that left me saying, “Wow, that’s so good.”

*Readers see a depth to Luke’s character that is only touched on in the first two books. I enjoyed seeing his personality illustrated in this one.

*The book is faith-based but it’s not an “in your face” gospel message or full of cheesiness.

Something I would’ve liked reading more of: a little more about Ellie’s friend. Near the end of the book she was a part of the plot and I found myself thinking, “Wait, did I miss a detail about Maeve’s life because I didn’t see this coming.”

I hope Pepper Basham continues with this series, because I will be one of the first in line to read the next book!

I absolutely love Pepper Basham’s writing. There is enough angst in the world- we need more happy!

When this book came across I went back and read the first 2 of The Skymar Series. What a fun group of books.

If you want deep thoughts with trauma - this isn’t for you. But if you want to let go and jut enjoy I highly recommend.

I like how in this novel she drifted away from the texts/email format. Each chapter starts with texts then the story begins.

Good for her with this feel good series.

This book definitely gives off some Hallmark vibes, but with an extra flare of Luke’s aversion to romance. Luke and Ellie are adorable together! A perfect opposites attract relationship!

I love the family dynamic in this book between Luke, Penelope, and Izzy. Their relationship is relatable and wholesome. I also love the authors style of epistolary writing, but I’m glad this book wasn’t mainly texts/emails, since Luke doesn’t seem to talk much in them. The author did a great job at sticking to his character.

I haven’t read the first two books in the Skymar series, but I can’t wait to read them now after reading Loyally, Luke!

What a light, sweet, happily ever after sort of story! I just love the siblings' text messages sprinkled throughout the book, as a way of tying the stories and characters from each part of this series together.

Sure, it reads like a Hallmark movie, just as Penelope says, but there is a reason we all love Hallmark movies!

I think that Pepper Basham is sprinkling her own brand of fairy dust over the world with her stories. There is a sense of wholesome goodness in this story, and I just really enjoyed it!

Wow! This was the first book of this series I’ve read instead of listened to in audio form. I was a bit concerned that it would be harder to follow reading it, but I was wrong. In some ways reading it made it seem even more ‘real.’ This book had me laughing, swooning, dreaming & thinking. This book illustrates how God can make the impossible possible & how he can use past mistakes or poor decisions for our good in the end even when we don’t understand. I enjoy being able to catch up with characters from the other books & have an ‘inside’ view of what is going on in their lives.

I have been waiting for Luke Edgewood's story since I read the first book in the Skymar series, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Pepper Basham has a talent for writing fun quirky characters and the situations they find themselves in, but Loyally, Luke is my favorite!

Readers can revisit the repeating cast of characters with Izzy and Penelope and all their funny texts and emails with Luke, but his sarcastic and witty responses steal the show.
I love his male point of view. Case in point, "I am not in one of your candy heart-flavored movies. Goodbye Penelope."
And Penelope is as delightful as ever, "Never underestimate the heartbreak of fictional characters."

From Luke and Ally's first meet-cute until the satisfying happy ever after I was smiling, laughing and cheering them on. Luke said it best,

"And maybe that was why all those silly movies ended up sticking with people. Deep down they communicated something everyone wanted. Everyone hoped to find. Being worthy of someone's love just as you were. Being enough."

I highly recommend Loyally, Luke for readers of romantic comedy and romances too. I appreciate Thomas Nelson making a copy of Loyally, Luke available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.

What a delicious conclusion to the Skymar series! Reluctantly romantic Luke finally finds the perfect woman - but she’s socially and geographically on the other side of the ocean. I love seeing him tackle this dilemma in a series of increasingly frank texts with siblings Izzy and Penelope (who are themselves well-acquainted with hurdles of the heart). Bottom line, real love is choosing to do what’s best for someone, no matter the cost. Luke shows his devotion to Ellie by doing exactly that…even though it breaks her heart and his. But wait!…with a bit of royal pixie dust, this may yet have a happy ending! I am obsessed with Pepper’s wonderful country of Skymar and wish I could live there myself. I was privileged to receive an early copy of this gem via NetGalley, and was not required to post a review.

What a great Royal Romance which also had great character development, I loved this book from start to finish.
It started off as a slow burn where you got to see each character deal with their own struggles but through various events and working together they each see ways of helping the other and their friendship blossoms into romance.
it was fun to read the text messages which were exchanged between Luke and his sisters and the relationship they had.
For anyone who loves a Royal Romance with a Hallmark feel then this is the book for you and Scotland was the perfect setting.
Although light on faith content it was still there which only added depth to the story.

Authentically, Izzy was one of my top reads of 2023 and so, when I received the approval email from NetGalley for Loyally, Luke, I was ecstatic!

Luke and Ellie are just the cutest of main characters and I absolutely adored their witty banter and sweet romance, as well as their hearts for God, family, and children—especially orphans.

The story brimmed with small village charm, endearing characters, and heartfelt messages that kept me smiling throughout. And though the story did start off a little slow to me, it picked up around 37% and I found myself not wanting to put it down and at the end sad to say goodbye to Luke and Ellie (Pepper Basham, can we please have one more?!).

5 Stars -- I loved it!

Totally adorable just as I expected. After loving the two previous books in the Skymar series, this one at the top of my TBR and it did not disappoint! It’s completely charming with several laugh out loud moments and scenes that put a smile on my face throughout. A sweet and hilarious read!

I loved every book in the Skymar series, and this last installment is the icing on the cake! Luke and Ellie…a princess and a carpenter…are a truly endearing couple! They are literally from two different worlds, but their hearts were good and true. I loved that he brought the unexpected to her life, and that she added romance to his! All the books in this series feature texts and emails between Luke, his sisters and his cousin, and it’s been so much fun to watch those relationships, as well as their romantic relationships, evolve! I also love Skymar, this picturesque land with its colorful who characters who care about each other and their home. I’m sad to see this series end, to say goodbye to Skymar and its lovely residents! This is an uplifting book, and the whole series is sure to warm your heart.

I am so excited that we finally have a Luke book! The dynamic between Izzy, Penelope, Josephine and Luke is one of my favorite literary sibling relationships.
Luke Edgewood is a flannel-wearing small town American who makes his way to our favorite island, Skymar. After a disastrous not-so-meet-cute when he arrives at the airport, he is ready to get to work on the short-term renovation project he was hired for.
Elliana St. Claire, youngest daughter of the King and Queen of Skymar is doing her best to repair her tattered reputation and show everyone her past is well behind her. She is ready to step up as a working royal and oversee the construction project on the orphanage that is near and dear to her heart.
Getting to know more about Luke filled my heart and Ellie was a great match for him. The chemistry and banter between Luke and Ellie had me laughing and they were adorable together. I love the personal growth we see in the characters as they navigate life and their relationship. They help each other heal from their past trauma, overcome fears and encourage each other to just be who they are.
Another must read from Pepper Basham! I can’t get enough of the movie and book quotes and references in this series.

This was my first experience with this family. An entertaining method of communication via text. Definitely a Hallmark movie style book with a smidgeon more fun. The movie quotes added so much, even those I was not familiar with. Delightful banter. A few heartwarming and heart stopping moments. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. A rebel princess trying to change, a town that hides their royalty so they can live a somewhat normal life. An American carpenter and an orphanage in need of repairs. I've been looking forward to Luke's story, his witty comebacks when texting his sister's, and his light sarcasm. Ellie was an unexpected joy. She so wants to be noticed that she is trying to dig herself out of her rebelish stage. What a fun read.

Y'all, I have loved Pepper's series set on Skymar and I've been begging for Luke's book. Harassing. Needling. Begging shamelessly since August. I got my hands on a copy and inhaled it. I laughed outloud. Multiple times. I may have cried. Seriously! I grinned like a fool. I loved it. Go preorder it now. I enjoyed the prior two books in the series... a lot. But I adored this one. Luke is the perfect hero. Perfect. He may be my first book crush since Gilbert Blythe.

When Luke travels to Skymar to fix up some old buildings, he's definitely not looking for romance. In fact, after two of his siblings found happily ever afters in Skymar, he's a bit leery of the place! But even that fact never prepared him for meeting the woman who could have been his match - if it weren't so impossible. Unfortunately, impossible it is, and it soon becomes clear that getting out with his heart intact will be equally impossible. Can Ellie overcome her scandalous reputation and show her people what she really is now: a mature woman ready to serve others? And when family and duty pull Ellie and Luke in opposite directions, can they find a solution that will let them be together?

If you've read previous books in the series, you'll have a fair idea what to expect, so I need only say that this is just as good and you should definitely read it. For those who haven't, you're really in for a treat. The book is full of heart but also has plenty of humour, great characters (including supporting characters), a beautiful setting, some hilarious text exchanges, and a deeply satisfying ending (oh, and get ready to read the others when you finish, because you won't be able to resist!). I've tried to analyse what I love so much about this series, but I'm having no more luck with this books than previous ones - there's something about them that makes them impossible to put down but also dangerous to read while with others (you'll laugh, guaranteed). Best of all, I think Luke has been my favourite of the siblings overall, so to finally see him get the happy ending he so much deserves is great. All in all, a great read and a great end to the series - though I'm very sorry to see it end. Highly recommended.

That pretty much sums up Luke Edgewood’s views on all things romantic. But when his life begins to look more and more like a RomCom movie plot playing out IRL, what’s a bearded, flannel-wearing carpenter from Appalachia to do?
Loyally, Luke is all the tropes, all the Hallmark moments, all the sighs . . . but will it be all the happily ever after?
Pepper Basham’s third book starring the Edgewoods is packed with laugh-out-loud, make-you-think, and melt-your-heart moments. Though it would be great read alone, readers will find the story so much richer if they first read Authentically, Izzy and Positively, Penelope.
Love, love, love this book!

This third book is the capstone of the trifecta that is the Skymar series! Luke was my favourite sibling from the beginning of book one. Each book was somehow better than the last!

Luke is a manly man that ends up meeting a Skymarian princess (unbeknownst to him initially!) and taking a liking to her after an unimpressive initial meet.

He becomes a safe space for her to be a “regular” person and he is wow’d by her beauty, strength, and care for the kids at the orphanage he’s renovating.

Ellie is a young woman who made some poor choices in her past due to the restrictions of a childhood illness and the demands of her royal position. She wants to be true to herself yet honour her parents and Skymarians by fulfillling her station as a reinstated royal. Suddenly she finds herself discovering love that began out of a beautiful friendship. Will she always have to sacrifice something or can she have it all?

After Luke learns of Ellie’s position and her back story, the two attempt to establish a platonic friendship, believing their two different worlds cannot meet. But will sister Penelope’s Hallmark fairy dust find them?

This novel has a lot of great humour, loveable characters, sweet children, great community, and oodles of sigh-worthy romance. You find yourself wanting to keep turning the pages yet not wanting it to end.

I cannot recommend this series enough because it’s smart, fun, and chock full of romance—without any corn! You can’t help but smile (and maybe squeal a bit) as you visit Skymar! You may also develop an affinity for flannel and fishing as a side effect but it’s all good!

I don’t know what to say. I mean, I have ALL the feels right now. I’m sad, I’m happy, I’m sad again. Izzy, Penelope, and Luke have become like family to me, and I’m genuinely going to miss them. I hate that my time with these characters is up. Isn’t that crazy? Or, rather, a testament to Pepper Basham’s stellar storytelling abilities. Her characters are SO well created I feel like they are a part of me. As much as each character’s romance became a thing I rooted for in book 1, 2 and 3, I found myself more drawn to Josephine’s, Izzy’s, Penelope’s, and Luke’s family dynamics. I love how they do family. They are clearly unique human beings with their own talents, passions, dreams, and foibles. And they each accept that about one another. They not only accept it, they encourage each other to be exactly their true selves. The love and support, no matter what, is my favorite aspect to this family. I love Josephine’s craziness and her matchmaking ways (And I have to say, there is a Josephine revelation at the end of Loyally, Luke that had me laughing so hard tears streamed down my face. Be prepared to laugh hard!). I love Izzy’s literariness and courage to follow her dreams. I love Penelope’s creativeness and zest for life. She is literal walking sunshine. But it has always been Luke who truly captured my heart from book one. And not because he is a hot book-boyfriend. Nope…it’s because he is the single best brother I have ever read in the history of books.

I am drawn to Luke because he is the brother I wish I had. He is so good. Yeah, he’s a boy, so he pokes fun and annoys and is sarcastic, but he is fiercely loyal, the right kind of protective, and genuinely kind, compassionate, and supportive. He sees who people really are and makes it safe to be that person. When you’re around Luke, there is no shame in being who God made you to be, quirks and all. If you made mistakes in your past, Luke doesn’t hold them against you. And when you are around Luke, there’s no room for fear. You see, Luke is a dragon slayer. Whatever the dragon may be — fear, anxiety, uncertainty, a broken door hinge, whatever! — Luke says and does what is necessary in order to help get a person back on track. Making a mistake in front of Luke is OK because he is never going to hate you, leave you, or think badly of you. He may have some manly sage advice to share, and it will probably be inspired by movies like Rambo and Jason Bourne, but he’s still going to love you. Izzy is right when she tells Luke that he is kryptonite to a broken heart. I wish more people were like Luke. The world would be a much better place.

Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham is an exceptional conclusion to what has been one of the best Contemporary Romance series I’ve ever read. I will absolutely miss my time with these characters, but I am super excited to see what Basham has in store for us readers next. I’m positive it will be as amazing as this Skymar series has been.

I fell in love with Pepper Basham’s writing when I read the first in this series, Authentically Izzy, and I’m definitely a fan for life after reading Loyally Luke. This was a lovely ending to this series, and my favorite of the three books!

In Loyally, Luke, we get the POV of the third Edgewood sibling as he visits the fictional island where his sister met her Prince Charming. But when Luke literally collides with the woman who turns out to be the princess of Skymar, there’s no way he could ever be interested, right?!?

The banter between the two is great, and my heart melted over the way Luke cared for the children in the orphanage he met as he was helping with a remodel.

Luke Edgewood is a rare find—a true gem. He embodies the qualities of a noble, godly man, quietly steadfast in his heroism, which happens to be my favorite kind. His interactions with children are heartwarming; the way he mentors young boys and listens patiently to emotionally overwhelmed little girls is simply precious. And his relationship with his sisters is equally endearing. While he may tease them mercilessly, his genuine care and thoughtfulness shine through, providing them with a supportive ear for their troubles. He's not flawless, but he's undeniably one of the good guys. And let's not forget his aversion to anything remotely resembling "romance" or the dreaded "Hallmark" label—those are practically allergic reactions for him! So naturally, it's only fitting that he falls for a princess.

Despite their differing backgrounds, the rocky start, and the complications of Ellie's hidden identity, they complement each other perfectly. I found myself swooning—something that rarely happens—and completely swept away by their chemistry and dynamic.

Loved it!!!! This one was as equally delightful and fun as the first two books. It was also written in a more traditional sense than the first two. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book as well, but as it kept going it just kept getting better and better! The relationship between Luke and Ellie was cute and there was plenty of fun and charming banter between the two of them. Luke’s relationship with his sisters was fantastic and done mostly through texting, which was a great way to carry the story along. It’s an absolute must read if you’ve read the first two books, which do need to be read to fully enjoy this one.

A perfect ending to a delightful series, Loyally Luke is funny, romantic, unpredictable, and inspiring— the best kind of romantic comedy there is! Pepper Basham gives the perfect voice to Luke’s character in this story, capturing and expounding upon his lovable grump persona from the first two books and transforming him into the swooniest of heroes in his own love story! Seasoned with delightful humor and pop culture references, this part-epistolary novel thoroughly entertains readers. I laughed out loud so much when reading this one! And the ROMANCE! There was heat without scorch as Luke and Ellie fell in love, and once Luke gets kissing on the mind it’s hard to stop! Plus, a romance from the man’s point of view? YES PLEASE! Ellie’s character had such depth and emotion, and her story and faith touched my heart. I loved Luke’s strong faith and love for his family, and he was an excellent Godly main character to fall for in this book! This story’s ending in the perfect happily ever after for both hero and heroine, but no spoilers on what that ending is… you just have to read it! And trust me, you do not want to miss it!

I have enjoyed this fun series and Loyally, Luke was a great addition to it. Luke is such a likable, good guy, not to mention swoon-worthy flannel loving carpenter. He is in Skymar to do some remodel work. As the only boy in a family of three sisters, two biological and one a cousin raised by his parents, Luke knows more about girl movies than a fellow should. To compensate, he watches plenty of action flicks, like Rambo, Mission Impossible, and others. This is a lighthearted and humorous story with laugh out loud moments and with many sweet and romantic ones as Luke works on an orphanage with and develops a friendship with Ellie, a real princess. There is an attraction but how can a country boy from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina have more with a real princess? Sweet romance with a foundation of faith. I recommend for those who love romance in an impossible situation.

I waited for months to read this conclusion to the trilogy. Honestly, it was well worth the wait. All the snarky comments from Luke to his sisters and cousin fueled the fire for the reluctant HEA. The country's landscape is its own book character. Envisioning the scenery became a happy place. Pepper Basham sure knows how to write RomComs! Sign me up for them all.

Oh, how I loved Luke! He is just all things lovely. Loyally, Luke is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. It follows Luke who has traveled to Skymar to see his sister and to do some contracted work, and "Grace Kelly" (aka Ellie), a princess of Skymar. They are forced to work together to restore a castle in the countryside of Skymar after an awkward meeting at the airport. Of course, neither Luke nor Ellie is looking for love. Also, their love is somewhat forbidden. I loved all of the movie references in this book! I also loved how it tied in with so many good hallmark movie tropes but not in an overly sweet way. This book is wonderfully written. It is dual POV which is delightful. I especially liked Luke's POV. He is just so swoon-worthy and respectable. Although this story can be read on its own we get cameos from the characters in the previous books in the series.

Loyally Luke. What could be a more perfect title for this book? Seriously, Luke is such a loyal person. Readers got delightful little glimpses of Luke through the two previous books in this series, but never enough Luke to really satisfy curiosity. In Loyally Luke, Pepper Basham has opened the door wide open for readers to get to know Luke - more of his humor, more of his loyalty, more of his good character, and more of his humanness. I loved this book. I felt as though the author was just fleshing out a real person onto the pages of this story. Because, let’s face it, that is what Luke feels like to the reader - a genuine and real person. He has some great wisdom that he sprinkles throughout the story. (Ugh. Do not tell Luke we used the word sprinkles in relation to him!) Yes, this book is a sweet and fun romantic plot line, but the depth of characters and development of those characters throughout this book is simply wonderful. The reader finishes this book feeling refreshed, encouraged, and wishing for a little more of Luke and Ellie’s story. I highly recommend this book. The content from Izzy and Penelope would be the icing on the cake for any reader of this fun story.

What’s IN this story? Oh just…..

I love that the author came up with a completely different plotline from the first two books… a southern fella from the States gifted in construction is needed on an island near Scotland.
This gifted carpenter, Luke Edgewood, has been surrounded by romance, sparkles, and Hallmark movie talk by having three “sisters” in his life.

The witty, southern charm (I'm a little partial as a Southern gal) conversations between Luke, Izzy, and Penelope are a hoot. Luke’s dry sense of humor is the best!

Here’s an example of why I love this series so much:

LUKE: “I don’t want to see her again.”
IZZY: “Perfect!”
LUKE: “Exactly.”
IZZY: “Don’t you know what this means?”
LUKE: “That my headache is returning?”
IZZY: “It’s the inevitable enemies-to-lovers trope and you were wearing flannel! AHH! I can almost hear the Hallmark Christmas chime going off in the background of your life.
LUKE: “It’s not Christmas.”
IZZY: “Lucky for you, the magical Christmas chime extends all year long.”

What’s amazing about it is that it’s not just a cheesy-feeling love story [nothing wrong with that sometimes]. It’s pretty light-hearted and fun until 50% when things get a lot more serious, precious, and challenging — all at once.

Content-> mentions of orphans and sweet scenes with the kids up to this point, but the author expertly brings in [talk of past] drinking, rehab, nightclubs, revealing clothes, cancer, and depression. These things are followed by talk of positive change, bravery, self-worth, forgiveness, friendship, and restoration.

Chapter 11 gave me a big lump in my throat. So sweet. Then again a couple of chapters later when Luke consoles a little orphanage girl.

CAUSE FOR PAUSE? The end felt a little stretched out and scatter-y at times, but ended in a believable, satisfying way. The faith content was a little light but I enjoyed what was included.

I loved this book. Penelope's texts to Luke are hilarious and usually spot on. The meet cute between Ellie and Luke is so fun and sets up what will be a great enemies to more book. Luke is a down to earth, loyal, kind and definitely not a Hallmark guy. Ellie has a past that haunts her. She wants to be seen as the person she has become not the person she used to be.
I loved all the banter and conversations between Luke and Ellie. I loved that the seemingly impossible becomes possible through choice, hard work and dedication. I loved, loved, loved all the texts between Luke and his sisters/cousin, and Ellie's and Maeve's texts to each other. This is a fantastic book and I would highly recommend anyone with a love of a well written sweet romance to read it.

Loyally, Luke is the third book in the Skymar series. While I think you might have some better understanding of the family dynamics in Luke's family if you've read the previous books, I do think this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

I must admit, I didn't expect to love this book nearly as much as I did. While I enjoyed the previous two books in the series enough to keep reading them, they weren't my favorite books by Pepper Basham. Part of that, I think, was the epistolary style that those were written in. I enjoyed them by the end, but it always took me a little longer to get into. While this book does have a lot of fantastic sibling text threads and emails too, it's overall written in a more traditional style. That definitely may have played a part in my enjoyment, but honestly, a lot of that was just Luke himself. This was such a great character. I'd enjoyed him in the previous books, but his own love story was absolute perfection. Growing up the only boy, he knows more than he'd like about Hallmark movies and romcoms... but her certainly never planned to be living one in real life! And yet, that's exactly what happens when he finds himself falling for a real-life princess. I loved the pop culture references and his need to balance out his sisters influence with action flicks... but he's ultimately the biggest sweetheart and it was hard not to be charmed by this fantastic story. There were so many moments that had me laughing out loud and I couldn't get enough.

If you're looking for a great Christian romance that will have you laughing out loud and swooning at the same time, this is absolutely one not to be missed.

As for the audiobook version, it was fantastically done too. The narrators did an amazing job of bringing this story to life!

I really enjoyed this story. I have enjoyed the other books in this series because I think the characters are fun and imperfect but I love seeing them find their true loves. I loved how Luke fell for a princess and the impossibility of their situation. I liked how their romance developed and how the author was able to come up with a believable solution for them being together. I loved how the story is a mix of text messages and narration. I think that makes the story unique and a fun one to read. I would definitely recommend this book and this whole series.

Bravo, author Pepper Basham, on sharing the love story of Luke who is the practical, solid rock of his family. A man who secretly would love to find the right woman, but outwardly is a bit crusty and is adamantly opposed to the mushy Hallmark romance movies. I have enjoyed getting to know him through the other two books in the series and was so happy to read his love story.

There are just so many wonderful things to love about this book. The humor throughout was perfect. This includes the airport (not) meet cute, an incident with a royal guard, and the texting between Luke and his sisters. Ms. Basham portrayed Luke just as I thought he would be, a feat not easily achieved when he was written as a secondary character for the other two books.

Even though it seems Luke and Ellie’s romantic relationship won’t work out, Luke doesn’t let that deter him from being so thoughtful and helping her complete items on her list of simple things to do. I enjoyed how others were part of the equation of helping them with their HEA.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting Luke’s story in this series. He was a man’s man complete with flannel work shirts and strong black coffee. One of his sisters described him as a Tootsie Roll Pop with a hard shell but a soft, sweet center. Luke was very close to his sisters and like-a-sister cousin but he considered it cringeworthy the number of texts and conversations he has had to endure with them that included girlie talk of rom-com movies, dashing heroes, and royal romances. When Luke was called to oversee a construction project in the small European country of Skymar he was thrilled to have an opportunity to use his specialized carpentry skills in the restoration work until he realized that he would have to work alongside the royal princess of Skymar who was the patron of the orphanage. Thankfully Luke was not tempted by how good she looked in her jeans and sweater as she swung her hammer. Nope. Not even a little bit. No matter how excited his sisters were that Luke might actually get to live out his own real Hallmark-like romance, Luke was determined to hold onto his man card and resist with all his might. The author has created such interesting and complex characters who are so unique and yet familiar. I love the way she wove their stories together and used humor and love for family as part of the mix. As a bonus, Basham is a master at writing swoony kisses and this book was so romantic. This book is a heartwarming romance that masterfully combines humor, depth, and a touch of whimsy. Basham has a unique way of writing characters that feel like old friends, and Luke, the protagonist, is no exception. His journey, filled with personal growth and romantic gestures, resonated with me on many levels.

Loyally Luke is a fantastic ending to the Skymar trilogy! In the first two books, we've gotten to know Luke on the surface. He's the steady, calm brother of Penelope and Izzy, and he is most certainly not interested in falling in love, especially with someone that could have walked off of a Hallmark movie set. But that is just what he does. It was so fun to read his thoughts and interactions with his sisters and cousin in the epistolary parts of the novel. It was equally fun to jump into the mind of Ellie. She tries so hard to show her maturity and that she is ready and responsible enough to become a working royal in Skymar. But she didn't count on Luke, and the situations they find themselves in. I appreciated how well they "clicked", and especially their own personal journeys of growth and maturity. I also laughed out loud quite a bit! This book was so fun to read, and I couldn't put it down. I also appreciated the more serious spiritual moments, and felt they were realistic to the characters. This book had more of a half and half ratio of epistolary to "regular" novel writing style, like Penelope's book, and I enjoyed that. If you're looking for a funny, heartwarming romance in a charming setting, this is a book you need to read! Though I would recommend reading books one and two first.

This book was by far the best in the series! The balance between correspondence and "in person" interactions was absolutely perfect. While this story did feel a little long at times but it was still really well done!

The story of Luke and Ellie was all the best parts of a romantic Hallmark Channel Movie! I enjoyed the Penelope and Izzy were still very much present in this book as much as the others. I really hope this is not the last time we will be in Skymar!

I enjoyed reading Loyally Luke, the third book in Pepper Basham’s Skymar series set on a fictional European island in the North Sea. I’ve been looking forward to reading Luke’s romance story and it was worth the wait.

Luke is a down-to-earth American guy who’s a carpenter by trade and likes the simple things in life. He has a dry sense of humor and tolerates the ridiculous nonsense that’s regularly spouted by his younger sister, Penelope. She’d love to see Luke star in a real life Hallmark-style royalty romance with all the tropes. Luke can’t stand sappy romance movies and he has zero interest in moving in high and mighty royal circles.

Ellie is a princess who has been offline for a few years to recover from a bad reputation she gained in the gossip columns. Ellie wants to please her parents, the King and Queen of Skymar, and return to her life as a working royal. Ellie is quietly working on a charity project in a remote part of Skymar and renovating an orphanage where she’s a patron.

Luke is only in Skymar for a few months and he ends up working on the orphanage project with Ellie. Like Ellie, he’s loyal to his family. His home is with his family in a small Blue Ridge Mountains town.

Luke and Ellie’s meet cute is hilarious. Luke has no idea that Ellie is a celebrity and real life princess. A delightful romance develops as Luke and Ellie become more than friends and are challenged to consider if they could have a future together.

This is Luke’s story and it’s fun to read a romance that’s more slanted toward the male viewpoint. The group chats in the epistolary style are amusing and there are fewer epistolary story elements than in the other Skymar books. I read this series out of order – Positively Penelope (book 2) then Authentically Izzy (book 1) before reading Luke’s story (book 3). The stories are standalone romances but I’d recommend reading the books in order, if possible, to gain a fuller appreciation of the banter and humor in the family group chat conversations.

I recommend Loyally Luke to contemporary romance readers who like different worlds and undercover princess royalty romances with epistolary style content and a relevant faith element in the story.

This book was so adorable. Like there was just such a sweetness to it that just left me constantly swooning. I honestly haven’t read many royal romances but I adored this one. Luke Edgewood is *chef’s kiss*. He was honestly just such a top notch stand up guy. He was kind, thoughtful, wise and encouraging. I loved how he made Ellie better and pushed her to believe and see the best in herself. And Ellie was fantastic. She was tough and strong and had been through so much and her story of redemption was beautiful. These two were just such a wonderful example of partners who make each other better and are willing to make sacrifices for each other.

This book is filled with so many nuggets of wisdom and I feel like everyone was so thoughtful and logical and it was just really refreshing. There wasn’t any unnecessary drama and everything about the story felt normal and flowed well. And I loved the ending!

I have absolutely adored this whole Skymar series from Pepper Basham. And though I've always scoffed at the term "book boyfriend", I have to say, Luke Edgewood has defined that term for me. I was hesitant to read this one at first because I had so adored Luke as a side character, I was worried he would not do as well as a main character, but sure enough, he shined through in this story as well. This story takes Luke "across the pond" once again to help Lewis Gray with a construction project, when he's also called in to be the second opinion for a construction issue at the local orphanage because he can be fully un-biased. While this one had less of the epistolary feel than the first 2, it still had several epistolary "scenes", all of which had me either laughing or crying. But for those who are not fans of that style, this one has it only minimally. I enjoy both styles and maybe would have preferred a bit more of the text/email feel to it, but it had enough to satiate me. Overall, this one was a super fun read - full of romance and great banter, character development, a solid faith thread and all the hallmark-y vibes while making fun of the hallmark-y vibes. Though it was fun and hallmark-y, there was definitely still depth in the storyline and in the character development and romance as well, so don't discount this one as solely a fluffy read (even though it has the fun light-hearted feel of a fluffy read). Though reading the first 2 in the series is not essential to the enjoyment of this book, it does deepen the appreciation for the characters and the background story arc. I enjoyed catching up with both Izzy and Penelope in the background as well as getting to know Luke in the front and center. If you enjoy a good rom-com and enjoy some epistolary in the storytelling, this series and this book are ones I would definitely recommend. Beyond being just a wonderfully sweet and swoony romance story, it held some elements that were a bit deeper and thought-provoking than is common: the impact/power the online world can have over past mistakes never being forgotten, the importance of involving other trusted people in big life decisions, and how healthy communication is so important!

Oh wow. After reading all of the Edgewood books, I think I have to say that this one's my favorite. While I could relate to Izzy and her deep love for books, I couldn't relate as well to Penelope and her love for sparkles, princesses, and the like (still a fabulous book, though-you should definitely read it!). But Luke??? Goodness, I think I AM Luke! Well, the female version of him, anyway. A little cynical, blunt, sarcastic, a little gruff, and a background support who hates being in the spotlight. Also, not romantic, though I do like romcom books. Not so much the movies.

But I digress.

I loved this book so much! I was cracking UP, and even in the van, with all the kids around, when I heard a bell on the radio, I thought, 'chime!' And then I had to remind myself that I wasn't actually living in a Hallmark movie OR a book.

Listen. When you hear chimes, when you get a little teary-eyed, and when you end a book with a great big grin on your face, you know it's a good one. But also a little bittersweet, you know? We have to say goodbye to the world of Skymar. It's been simply wonderful.

Eliana is a princess with a past but fun and totally relatable. I loved the witty banter between the characters, the sizzling romance, and the way the story still points to important truths and values. If you’re looking for a book to make you laugh out loud and feel all the feels, be sure to add this one to your tbr line up soon!

This was such a good book! I am such a fan of Pepper Bashams books so I was excited for this one. It didn’t disappoint, I loved the storyline and the characters! Highly recommend!

This has been one of my most anticipated books of the year. Ever since his very first appearance in Authentically, Izzy, I’ve been so eager for Luke’s story. And, oh my goodness! It exceeded all expectations!

This book made me smile and laugh so much, but it also had a lot of depth and emotion too, which I loved.

Luke and Ellie didn’t make the best first impression on each other, which made for a hilarious meet-cute. From then on, it was fun watching them get to know each other. Their banter was great!

I loved that some of the story was told in the form of texts, emails, and news articles. That’s one of the things I’ve loved the most about this series. Well, that and the characters, the setting, and the romances. This has been a top-notch series that I’m sad to see end. I’ve loved it so much. If you’re new to the series, be sure to start with book one. You'll be hooked!

This book was so much fun! I was drawn into the story from the beginning and loved every second of it!
The author created a beautiful setting and a story where I felt as if I was experiencing everything with these characters.

I have been anxiously awaiting Luke’s story and it was perfect! This book is heartwarming and funny. I found myself wanting to read all day to see how it ends. Pepper Basham does a wonderful job making the characters come to life and making you feel like you are actually part of the family. I loved this book and would highly recommend!

The third in a series and the icing on the cake of delightfully funny stories taking place in Skymar.
After Luke lands in Skymar and has a meet cute with Ellie in the airport, he texts cousin Izzy and sister Penelope. As usual, meddling Penelope has a runaway imagination and plots the future love life of Luke through romantic fiction tropes and Hallmark movie scenarios, complete with *chimes*. This is a hilarious but heartfelt story. We see just how likeable, loveable and legendary Luke can be when he is just being himself and befriends Ellie, the secret Princess and the workers and kids at the orphanage he is rehabbing.
The texts from Izzy and Penelope are over the top funny and the signature Pepper Basham closet scene has a clever twist. I loved so much about this book including the movie references from The Princess Bride to Jason Bourne to LOTR to Star Wars. And the amusing witty banter and silly trope references to a Happily Ever After were so much fun!
If you are looking for a feel good rom-com that has an uplifting message and a subtle faith thread you cannot go wrong with Loyally Luke. This one is too good to miss.

Okay! Where to start??? I have been anticipating this book for well, years! I love Luke! I love his honest, strong, light-hearted, true and unwavering character! He did not disappoint! His character was just waiting, most unwillingly for his princess! And she also did not disappoint! I was so involved from the moment they met! I loved it! I loved the setting, the side characters and the joy of this story! Perfect ending!

Ahh Luke! How I’ve waited for his story. This grumpy, curmudgeonly, cinnamon roll of a guy is the perfect dichotomy. He’s a man of few words, often short and sarcastic, but when it comes to a kind, soft, loyal heart, nobody beats Luke. This flannel wearing, hunky carpenter left his comfortable home in North Carolina to travel to the kingdom of Skymar to restore several old buildings including an orphanage. But, he didn’t get any farther than the airport coffee shop before he meets a Grace Kelly lookalike in a meet-cute (though Luke detests that word) that had me laughing. Imagine his surprise when in Hallmark fashion he sees the annoying woman again.

Princess Elliana St. Clare, Duchess of Mara and the North Country is ready to resume her position as a working royal after recovering from a tarnished reputation. When she meets Luke, she’s definitely annoyed by the gruff man, despite his rugged good looks, but she soon changes her opinion when she sees his integrity, kindness to some cute little orphans, and his ability to see others needs and help them. But, Luke’s from America & she has duties in Skymar, could they ever make a relationship work?

I loved this story so much! It has hidden identity, overcoming past mistakes and fears, opposites attract, and a royal twist that makes this so much fun! I loved all the references to action/classic movies and Luke’s funny banter. It was so much fun being in his head and getting to see the kind, caring man behind the gruffness. I also loved hearing from his family members again. It’s less epistolary than previous books mainly because Luke is a man of few words. I loved the balance between story, email, and text.

Ellie was so much fun too! I enjoyed all her fun interactions with Luke. Their funny banter & swoon worthy romance had me grinning from ear to ear.

This book has so much heart! It’s so much better than Hallmark! The charm, inspirational messages, wit, fantastic family dynamics, and sigh-worthy romance were off the charts. I’m hoping the author comes up with more stories in Skymar because I don’t want to let these characters go! Highest of recommendations for this book & the entire series! Epistolary novels were never my thing, but this series has completely changed my mind! The author's writing style is great, and this series unfolds through email and text exchanges among the siblings. It's amazing how much emotion and love can be conveyed in just a few words.

I've been so eager for Luke's story! As the only guy surrounded by sisters, he's a master at navigating the hormonal roller coaster. He can be grumpy one minute and surprisingly sweet the next. Luke meeting a real-life princess? Unbelievable. I applaud him in how he handled the truth though. It wasn’t easy but it showed his true character. Luke and Ellie’s chemistry was amazing. They complement each other well. Despite their different backgrounds, they share the same core values. The Notting Hill scene was absolutely delightful!

Luke’s genuine love for children, his naturally kind personality, and his responsible nature all shone through in this book. His talents were clearly recognized. I enjoyed his tenderness as he connected with Faye and take the initiative to address the needs of the kids at the orphanage. I was truly surprised by the depth of ideas he had for them!

I highly recommend this book and this series. The charming village of Skern provides the perfect backdrop for a heartwarming story filled with humor and genuine emotion. Luke and Ellie's journey had me laughing out loud and reaching for the tissues. It was such a fun read!

There is so much to love about this story! This is the third in the Skymar series where we find our cinnamon roll MMC traveling to Skymar to take on a big project at a castle. His "meet cute" upon arriving in Skymar doesn't go so well, and of course, the object of his initial experience, Ellie St. Claire, is who he is going to be supervising his project for the next two months. But as chemistry ignites and secrets come to light, is what Luke and Ellie have, impossible?

I really loved the undercurrent of God being in control throughout this story. Both of the main characters demonstrated their faith in different ways that made their relationship arc extra special. There was a fabulous amount of romantic tension while maintaining respect...a perfect balance.

I love Luke Edgewood. The long-suffering lone brother. Allergic to anything on the Hallmark channel, practical, and uncannily wise.

The long-awaited third book in the Edgewood siblings series, brings Luke to Skymar to work on saving an orphanage alongside Princess Ellie. Luke has been my favorite since the very first book in the series, in all his flanneled glory and Rambo watching ways. It was so fun to see him begrudgingly stumble into his own fairy tale, his humor is spot on with multitudes of astute quips.

I loved the humor balanced with depth, as well as the amazing bond between the siblings. A delightfully upbeat read, that put a smile on my face repeatedly until my cheeks hurt, but even then I couldn't put it down.

Overall, a wonderfully enjoyable book that I devoured, full of humor, chemistry, and faith. Highly recommend!

Pepper Basham continues the story of the Edgewood family with brother Luke in “Loyally, Luke.”

Luke makes a return visit to the island nation of Skymar, where two of his sisters, Izzy and Penelope, have found love. He has come to use his construction skills to help renovate an orphanage, as well as a few other projects, leading up to Izzy’s wedding.

When he’s paired up with the uppity woman he met in the airport though, he is hesitant — and doesn’t realize what he has gotten himself into, and with whom.

Princess Elliana St. Clare is attempting to repurpose her life after taking some stumbles several years ago. As she redevotes her life to her royal duties and the causes that are important to her, she meets an American contractor that just might work his way into her heart.

Will Luke and Ellie be able to find love while overcoming major obstacles in their lives? Or will they have to face eternal heartbreak?

Written partially in letter form — particularly texts and online news articles — “Loyally, Luke” is filled with funny and romantic moments as well as moments that will allow the reader to pause and evaluate their own dreams and desires, leaving a silly smile on their face.

Basham creates delightfully quirky and adorable characters readers will fall in love with, as well as fills “Loyally, Luke” with some great themes, like bringing light to others; it’s harder to repair than to break things; accepting forgiveness; we all make mistakes but can learn from them (“We all mess up, Ellie. We make stupid decisions that impact us in immediate and long-term ways. But we also have the choice to grow from our mistakes”); having a heart for service; and finding healing from our brokenness.

Fans of epistolary novels like “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” as well as authors like Katherine Reay will love this story.

I loved this book. You can’t read it without wishing Luke was your best friend. He’s smart, funny, tender, and kind. The best sort of man who hides all the goodness behind a crusty exterior. He may very well go down as my favorite book boyfriend, ever!!! The first meeting between Luke and Ellie St. Clare is superbly executed. Ellie comes off as snobbish, which naturally rubs Luke the wrong way. But as the story progresses, Ellie shows her true nature, which is kind, caring, and down-to-earth. There are so many tender moments in this story especially with Luke and a little girl named Faye. You’ll love him because of the way he treats this sad girl. Loyally, Luke has wonderful humor, multiple moments that can’t help but touch the reader, and a beautiful love story. Even more, Basham shows how when someone has a giving heart and unselfish motives that person has the power to change all those around him or her. The world would be a better place if we could all be more like Luke.

“He flinched. But this wasn’t love. Maybe it could turn into love, because his heart veered really close to falling, but right now it was like. A lot. A kissing lot.”

I fell in love with Luke from the very first book in all this grumpy, flannel-wearing glory. This man has three sisters and deals with all the heart eyes and Hallmark tropes every day of his life, but when a job takes him to Skymar for a couple of months, all the meet-cutes and chimes can’t keep him away from his Grace Kelly, aka Ellie.

Pepper Basham brings these characters to life in a way that makes them leap off the pages and I couldn’t get enough of Luke’s story. His disdain of all things romance (give him Rambo and Star Wars) and his stellar self-control, thanks to living with ridiculous sisters, pits him perfectly against this sassy, brave, smart and witty woman. I laughed at every snippet of banter and swooned at every *chime* of chemistry-laden interaction. And the text exchanges between the siblings are the cream on top of a deliciously fruit-filled pie. I think this one is my favorite of the series!

Content: mild religious references; mild romance

I literally could not wait to read this book. You see, I’ve read the other two in the series and the wait time between them is not for the faint of heart. Penelope and Izzy came first in this series. They’re both amazing and I loved their stories. You can find my reviews for them on my blog as well. While I identified with them in some areas I think I identify with Luke more. I’m not comfortable in the spotlight. I don’t want to be famous. Oh, and I prefer my animals to other people most of the time. I’m an introvert you see. And people can be too much sometimes.

Luke accepts a job on Skymar. It’s a construction project. And it’s on an old historical building. These are things Luke enjoys. But he’s not here for romance. Just because his two sisters have found romance involving this island doesn’t mean he has to. He also has no need for a royal family. He’d prefer to steer clear of them for good. Let’s just say Luke doesn’t even know what any of them look like.

Luke is amazing. He’s what you think of when you dream of a wonderful guy I think. He wants to protect his sisters and he wants to solve their problems. But what he doesn’t want is romance.

WELL. HE FINDS IT. IN THE FORM OF A GRACE KELLY LOOK-ALIKE.
As he gets to know Ellie he doesn’t know she’s a princess. So when he finds out he naturally feels a little betrayed and let down. But she was so real and so wonderful. Can he let her go?

Luke knows romance movies like no other man. He won’t admit it of course. He also has seen his share of masculine movies but this mix of movies is what makes Luke Luke. You’re going to love him. And you’ll love the bits of suspense and mystery surrounding the royal family and Luke.

Can Luke overcome himself and his limitations? What about the super sweet orphans? And what about Skymar? But maybe the most important thing, what about Luke’s family? You see, they mean everything to him, and he can’t just leave them.

Read this series in order. Don’t ask. Don’t think about reading out of order. Just don’t. You’ve been warned.

A man in flannel. A princess hiding from the spotlight. Unanticipated connection. Potentially expected results. But the story is still so good.

Luke never planned on ending up in the fictional land of Skymar. But he will do anything for his sisters. He assumes he understands this country and its people. But soon he realizes that he has more to learn. Patterns are rarely predictable when the human heart is involved.

This epistolary novel includes more dialogue and face-to-face interactions than the first two books in the Skymar series. But it still is a book that includes texts and letters. The three books are all connected. I highly recommend reading all of them in order.

Family and faith are key parts to this story. Learning to be true to oneself and to shed stereotypes is also an important element. This is a sweet romance about finding love in the most unlikely of places.

For all those bibliophiles the Skymar series by Pepper Basham is the equivalent to finding a cozy chair on a rainy day by the fire with a cup of tea and finger sandwiches. It is perfection!
After Izzy and Penelope found their happily ever after it was definitely time for Luke. The grumpy, flannel, hallmark eye rolling man that the readers adore! The cherry on top to this novel is that of course his true love is THE Princess of Skymar. And oh my does it get any better than their meet cute?!
It was most definitely worth waiting for!

Basham leaves the best til last! We’ve met Luke Edgewood in the first 2 books of the series. He’s a great foil to his sister Penelope and cousin Izzy. But we get a sense in those first 2 stories of chivalry and his strength as an individual. And now in this final instalment of the series, Basham gives him his own story.

This is my favourite of the three. Luke visits Skymar to work on a renovation project for an orphanage and in the process meets its patron, Ellie St. Clare. Little does Luke know but Ellie is royalty. A real life princess.

There is immediate chemistry on their first meeting and it’s not long before both of our leads are infatuated with the other. But there’s lots of reasons for them both not to pursue anything other than friendship. For much of the story, Ellie and Luke struggle to resist their increasingly strong feelings for the other. Basham writes the struggle brilliantly that makes us love this couple even more.

We see tremendous growth in both Ellie and Luke through the story. Ellie, in particular, has been much maligned in her recent past, resisting her princess title. She has two supportive parents who choose to believe Ellie is able to mature into a willing royal taking on responsibilities that would benefit the people of Skymar. To her credit, Ellie responds well to her parent’s selfless love, whilst trying to establish her own way of assuming the role of Princess.

With some tremendous scenes which could easily feature in a ‘best of’ romantic story scenes, Basham has her readers falling madly in love with Ellie and Luke and their union. With a tremendous supporting cast and two delightful young girls, Faye and Amara, who capture Luke’s heart, the reader happily turns the pages at breakneck speed wanting to see what our resistant couple get up to next.

Will they or won’t they choose their own life without the other or find an alternative option?

A brilliant end to what is a fabulous series.
