What a fantastic children’s book! This is a great book that teaches children they don’t have to be like everyone else. By learning this lesson early, it can help with possible peer pressure issues, depression and stress. It even has a fantastic reveal about what adults can feel like if they end up where they don’t want to be!

The pictures are great too and help aid in helping the children to understand the overall lesson of how it’s because we are different that we belong.

Great for a home collection or a classroom reading corner!

I loved this book! It covers such an important topic and in such a brilliant way. The way the author compares everyone and everything on the planet as pieces of a puzzle, is such a smart way of explaining. I'm pretty sure it will make sense to every child reading this.
I highly recommend this book as part of your at home or at school library, because I think every child (and maybe every adult too) needs to read this book!

Love the message that the book is sharing to young children about every piece being unique. Nice message about self love to the younger generation.

This book is perfect for building self awareness in children, either as part of the curriculum in school or for parents struggling to help their child with confidence. It clearly shows how each person is unique and firs into the world as a giant puzzle. The artwork is colourful and engaging which helps to get across the overall message in a fun way. It could also be used for educators trying to promote inclusivity.

Hats off to Mendoza-Vasconez and Nilson for presenting this important lesson in such a novel and creatively artistic way. Uniqueness and diversity is something to be cherished and an essential lesson to learn early in life. Using the analogy of the world as a puzzle and the individual pieces to demonstrate that it takes every living thing, including ourselves to complete the whole puzzle is a brilliant idea. It takes the concept of a toy most children are familiar with, uses basic language and talks about they types of doubts we may express. It considers the doubts that others may plant in our heads, and it provides an explanation as to why we should ignore those doubts and accept that we haven't found our right place in the puzzle.

I think this book would serve a range of children really well. Whether they are of an ethnic minority, a different faith, possess a disabilty, or have unusual likes and dislikes that set them apart from their day-to-day community, this book highlights that it just means they haven't found their vibe and their tribe yet. Parents that practice positive affirmations with their children will love this book, and it is a great resource for educational settings. I can't fault it. It's really is a wonderful book.

Gathered at the Table by Glenn’s Nellist (Sept. 9) Using poems, it explains Jesus last supper and his time at the table. Such a profound, kid appropriate explanation of the communion.

Rosie’s Wild Ride by Paige Murray (Oct 7) Her completion doesn’t go quite as planned, but what if we keep going and ask “What if I can?” as we follow big dreams! I can’t wait to get this for my daughter. Loved the illustrations.

Night Magic by Leigh Ann Henson (Sept 23) This was SUCH a fun book of information. Why does it take so long for the eye to adjust to night? Lots of great information with this book and at a child’s level.

The Mountain and the Goat by Slamk Taghaddas (Sept 23) I loved the concept of teaching resourcefulness in this one. Loved the storyline.

Sea Dog Boats by Astrid Sheckels (Jan 14) To learn all about boats, let the dogs lead the way. All about the ABCs and nautical adventures this is a really cute story!

Twelve Days of Summer by Sherri Meret (July 1) “On the first day of summer…” The animals take you on a summer adventure as you sing along! My kids LOVED this adorable book.

Franklin’s Trees by AJ Skenkman (July 1) A story about young President Franklin. A history major myself, this was a really cute informative book.

Outdoor Skills for Kids by Buck Tilton (June 3) My son thought this book was the bees knees. He learned so much from it and kept talking about “when you approach an animal this is what to do..” He was so excited to share all he learned.

A Very Dinosaur Christmas by Adam Wallace (Sept 2) The giggles with this one! Dinosaurs at Christmas is silly.

This is a super tender book about being true to yourself and finding your place in the world. The artwork is super cute and well done. I appreciate the resources at the back of the book for parents. I think this book is great and will definitely be purchasing for my nieces and nephews.

All the stars for this special book and the important message it imparts to young readers. I found the use of puzzles and their pieces an excellent way to teach children how unique and necessary each of us is. It takes every single puzzle piece to complete a picture and our family, classroom, town and/or world needs each and every one of us to be whole. A very important lesson. This book is a must add to any school or personal library.

The puzzle piece is a children’s story about authenticity and self-love. This story portrays the world as a giant puzzle and being pieces in that puzzle. This would be the perfect addition for a young reader’s library and they can definitely learn so much out of this.

I absolutely loved the meaning behind this book and could definitely see why this should be a book all children should read. There are some life-changing messages and I just loved the way this author tackled this meaning.

I would highly recommend this story for all young readers!
