I am absolutely captivated by this book! If you're a fan of Emily Henry, One Day, or Normal People, I strongly urge you to dive into this captivating read. While it falls within the romance genre, it delves into profound themes, exploring the struggles of characters grappling with genuine traumas and complex issues.

The characters are beautifully flawed and intricate, making them incredibly endearing. Witnessing the evolution of their relationship over the course of several summers was a highlight for me. The narrative seamlessly weaves between present-day and the previous six summers, creating an anticipation that keeps you on the edge of your seat, eagerly awaiting the revelation of pivotal events.

Liv, with her artistic soul and vulnerability, carries the weight of the world on her shoulders following a tragic incident that derails her life plan. Finn, characterized by his adorableness, guarded demeanor, and restlessness, adds a layer of depth to the slow-burning romance. The tension between them is palpable, and despite the obstacles, you can't help but root for their connection.

Initially easy to dismiss, Tom grows on you, and his relationship with Liv becomes increasingly intricate, leaving the reader as torn as Liv herself. The emotional roller coaster of this narrative is enthralling, and even with the anticipation of potential heartbreak, I found it impossible to put the book down.

I eagerly anticipate the official release of this book! It's a solid 5/5 for me – a truly enjoyable and emotionally charged experience.

Paige Toon always knows how to tug on your heart strings and this was no different. Told over the course of seven summers and what happens in between. I flew through this book because I couldn’t get enough of it!!

I had to sit in silence staring at a wall after finishing this one, it was such an emotional roller coaster. Liv’s journey through grief while still growing up and figuring out who she was and what she wanted was so brilliantly portrayed. Adding a love that felt immense but only lasted a few weeks every summer was gut wrenching. And then there was Tom. Love triangles often annoy me but this one broke my heart over and over again. A lovely book even after emotionally destroying me.

Thanks for the copy Netgalley. This is my first by Paige Toon. I was very intrigued in the beginning, then the story just kind of dwindled out for me. The first 50% was so slow I kept getting distracted and side tracked.

The love triangle was just mediocre for me. I really felt the beginning of this one just killed it.

The characters were likable, but boring. The dialog was just ok for me.

I seem to be in the minority on this one. Perhaps it was my mood, reflection of the last book I read. I will give this author another go.

Guess ypu can't love them all.

Multiple love interests, alternating time lines, secrets that you uncover as you keep reading and Paige Toons gut wrenching style make this gem a must read. When I read only love can hurt like this I fell in love with this author and this one just solidified Paige Toons must buy status on my list.

Absolutely amazing!

What would you do if your love came back to you every summer and only in the summer? But you also knew it couldn’t work because you lived miles and miles apart and you only spent the summer together if you were both single. This is the story of Liv and Finn. But now, Liv has a chance at a new story, with Tom.

I struggled with the first 25% of this book. I skipped a lot that didn’t focus on Liv and Finn. However, I finally did settle in and was quickly hooked. I am not sure where I land on Finn as a character, but I am fond of the character of Tom. I feel as though without Tom, Liv would never have moved past where she was in her life with anything. He was a catalyst for change and while she fought her demons, she helped him with his.
There were so many emotions in this book and Toon takes you on a ride as you experience them and fall in love with these characters and the beautiful setting.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I don't know how to review this without giving spoilers, but I'm going to try. I love how this book wasn't JUST a clean and simple love story, and didn't exactly follow the formula of every other rom-com. I love how there were deeper themes explored as well but there were certain aspects of the romance(s) and decisions that the characters made that left me rolling my eyes and/or screaming at my kindle. Overall, I'm glad I read this one but I'm not sure I'll seek out others by the same author. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the eARC!

Toon is a phenomenal romance writer. She has a talent of writing all the nuances of blossoming love- from the instant connection, to the building tensions, subtle glances and accidental touches, and then to the moment when the main characters finally kiss- It’s all just absolute perfection.

I’ve only read one other book by this author and that one was an emotional punch to the heart. This experience was very similar. I was definitely attached to the characters so by the time the big moments (both sad and happy) happened, I cried and laughed along with them.

A controversial ending for sure but one that I felt was a full circle moment and that a lot of people will appreciate.

4/5 ⭐️

This was my first read for this and I enjoyed this book.
Tropes include:
💗Illness
🩶second love
💗 grief
🩶loss
💗love triangle
I had a bit mix experience with this book. The first about 1/2 of the book was hard for me. It was slow and had multiple timelines. Now the second 1/2 of the book was really good. The Fmc, Liv is an artist, aspiring sculptor.
She returns to her hometown where she first meets Finn.
Finn, is a new musician, who's had his own past to deal with. Finn's career takes him to the states, LA and Liv has no intention of leaving her beach. They continue there back and forth for 6 summers.
The seventh summer Liv meets Tom. I absolutely adored Tom. When Liv meets Tom she had to learn to trust and to love. and thus is in a triangle., who will she choose?!
All the characters struggled to get over loss and how to move forward. If you like second chance romances that deal with love, loss and learning how to move forward then definitely give then definitely give this a read. Thank you to NetGalley and to Penguin Group Putnam for allowing me to read in advance.

I read this book in a day and I never looked back! The twist and the plot were pretty easy to identify but the different POV's kept me intrigued to see how everything was going to unfold. A couple of the characters were so unlikable that it made it hard to feel bad or connect with them in any way. I do wish that the ending would've given a little more, I wanted to know how the characters dealt with the aftermath.

The moment I finished that first chapter I felt like I could taste the sea salt and I was on the beach just below Seaglass in Cornwall.
This book took me on a emotional rollercoaster I don't think I was prepared for and ended a place I never expected. I have a friend who says her stomach hurts when she reads an incredible, impactful book and lets just say I had the tums out.
Paige Toon is an architect of imagery and an expert in emotional carnage. The rollercoaster that went from summer to summer with Finn and then to the present with Tom had me wondering if Liv really would find happiness, but Paige delivered as always - in the most unexpected way.
This book was a beautiful story of how love is something that. never leaves us and life is something we can never control. I HIGHLY recommend!

I’ve only read one book by Paige Toon before this one and I have to say she has a similar style. I feel like she throws in a super sad plot twist at the end that leaves your heart shattered.

In the beginning we are introduced to Olivia (Liv) who works at a bar but also rents out an apartment space in her house to summer guests. This is where we meet Tom. Oh Tom, how I loved him. We also get 6-years worth of summer flashbacks to her romance with Finn. He was quite the catch too. This book follows along through both romances, until Liv has to decide where her heart ultimately lies.

I really liked Olivia. She is a sculptor and has a unique way of looking at people. She is brave, a great friend, and a supportive sister. I was rooting for her the whole time.

Tom is probably my favorite. I liked how he was brooding and kind of anti-social in the beginning, but Liv quickly tore down his walls. He had my heart from the beginning, so of course I was rooting for this couple!

Finn was a decent character. I liked how he was a rocker but wasn’t a player or let the semi-fame go to his head. He was still the down to earth art nerd Liv knew in high school. He did kind of irritate me when he would show up with no notice in the summer, or when he would tell Olivia that he could never move back home because he hated the place and wanted to stay in LA. I felt Olivia’s sadness and irritation here, and it was deserved.

This book was a 5-star read until the Epilogue, believe it or not. I loved all 51 chapters, but the very ending just tore my heart out and left me a sobbing mess and not in a good way. I get why the author did this, but I am just not feeling it. That is why I rated this book the way I did. Maybe someday I will reanalyze this and change my rating, but for now this is what I feel.

Liv and Finn meet every summer and her heart breaks every autumn when he leaves. At the 7th summer, she meets Tom.... A love triangle with lots of heartbreaks and drama. The ending is a bit quick but otherwise a terrific book.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Paige Toon is one of my favorite authors, someone I can count on for an engaging storyline, well-developed characters, romance, and emotional ups and downs. In Seven Summers, she delivers on all fronts.

I liked that the chapters alternated between present day and summers past. I also liked the reasoning given for why the relationship between Liv and Finn couldn’t be more than it was (even though it was frustrating).

The introduction of Tom broke my heart in good and bad ways. The ending was what I hoped for, even if the route to get there wasn’t what I expected.

My only complaint was that the epilogue was almost 10% of the book. A lot it should have been part of the main story. I felt like it defeated the purpose of an epilogue.

4 1/2 ⭐️ rounded up. Would definitely recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and Putnam Books/Penguin Group for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Seven Summers by Paige Toon is a beautifully crafted love story that unfolds over the course of six summers, each filled with the promise of a future together. Liv and Finn's connection, forged on the rugged Cornish coastline, is both passionate and heartbreaking, tying their fates together in an unbreakable bond. The author weaves a tale of love, longing, and the enduring power of promises. This book is a poignant exploration of the choices we make and the impact they have on our lives. It's a compelling narrative that keeps you guessing until the very end, as secrets are revealed, and Liv faces an impossible decision that will test the depths of her heart.

Seven summer is story about an epic romance between two young people that have an off/on relationship every summer throughout their young adult life. I like how we get to see how they continue to grow and work on their personnel career goals while their relationship is put in stasis. The story is heartbreaking several times through loss and hard decisions. Liv's relationship with Tom was the most emotional part of the book. Once I got into this book, I could not put it down, I had to see what would happen next. The setting of the story pulls you in just as much as the relationships.

Thank you Putnam Books and Netgalley for the chance to review this ARC.

5⭐️- A romance full of love, loss, trauma, grief, and heartbreak. This book was truly breathtaking to read and I cannot recommend it enough.

Synopsis: This story is an emotional love triangle between a woman and the man she just met and another man she spent the past 6 summers with. I really don’t want to give away much more!
Pros: Paige Toon writes the most beautiful, lovely romances! They aren’t spicy, smutty romcoms, they’re not cheesy Hallmark stories. They are epic romances filled with emotion and characters you root for. This story has so much heart and had me misty eyed at the end.
Cons: The only con is that this doesn’t come out until May so it’s going to have to sit on your TBR for awhile. I’m sorry!
But thank you to Putnam Group Putnam and Netgalley for the advanced copy. I absolutely loved it and hope you’ll read next year!!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Seven Summers by Paige Toon.
This is the story of Liv & Finn, Cornwall and Tom. Other characters aren't as memorable.
Every summer rock singer Finn leaves LA and visits his brothers and grandparents in Cornwall.
Every summer Liv & Finn circle each other hoping for more. Then the book gets repetitious.
It's like the movie "Same Time Next Year". They hang out, they love and Finn leaves.
After 7 (get it?) summers Liv meets Tom, falls in love and a plot twist is thrown in.
A long epilogue catches the reader up on the next 7 years. A hurried ending.
