This book was hard to put down! I am a sucker for the fake dating trope, and this was a unique twist on the genre.

A MILLION DANG STARS. WOW.

“You haven’t been asking too much. You’ve just been asking the wrong people.” 😭

Y’all I literally have no words. This book was absolutely perfect. I love a golden retriever book boyfriend and Justin has completely stolen my heart!

Dare I say this is Abby’s best book yet! The Easter eggs were so much fun and I loved the cameos of past characters. I won’t ruin it, but there’s one in particular that I was super excited about!

This book had the most adorable online meet cute and plenty of swoon-worthy moments! I also love how Abby does such an amazing job with the mental health representation in her books. It’s easy to see the effort she puts in to her research!

If you need the perfect summer read, add this one to your TBR asap! Thank you Abby Jimenez and Forever for my gifted e-arc.

Amazing.... Absolutely amazing! The depth of these two characters, their love for each other, and the strength they showed overcoming some of the hardest life circumstances made me love this book the most, out of every one of Abby's books I've read.
Each of her last 3 books are connected, yet stand alone- and I loved them all. This truly came full circle and I just, it's squeezed my heart and I loved every minute of it!

Abby Jimenez you will always be famous! For every novel after The Friend Zone that is. Sorry that one just wasn’t for me BUT Just for the Summer was! Filled with flirty dialogue, actual lol moments, AND emotional depth, you’ll love this book much longer than just for the summer.

Also highly recommend the audio version, the narration is excellent!!

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million gazillion times… Abby Jimenez is a GENIUS and I adore her work. This was a phenomenal end to the Royaume medical women who SLAYYYY series (or Part of Your World… if you wanna get TECHNICAL)

Justin and Emma have a curse, every person they date goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When they connect online they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But what if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

Now, let me just say… Jacob my boy has my whole entire heart and soul. Justin however… comes in a close second. JFTS wraps you up in a warm blanket, talks you through your childhood trauma, hushes you with a soothing voice and gives you allll the forehead kisses. This one didn’t absolutely gut me like some others but damn if I didn’t love every minute of it…

I really enjoyed this one. I had tried a while ago to read the ebook, but I just was struggling with it. It turns out it was mostly the timing, because once I picked it up later on audio, I was eager to keep reading.

The narrators were wonderful; I loved their performances. I was listening while on a walk one evening, and I caught myself laughing out loud several times regardless of the onlookers. Abby's writing plus the stellar narrators made this book so compulsively readable – just as I have found all of Abby's books to be.

Knowing how I have cried reading some of her other books, I shouldn't be surprised that this one got me too – I choked up several times and definitely had tears in my eyes. I wasn't expecting so many of her other characters to be weaved into this story, either – so that caught me by surprise! Especially the biggest thing towards the end.

The one little thing that tripped me up was that at times the writing felt stiff or green – one reason I originally struggled to get into it. Thankfully it was only here or there, so in the end, it didn't negatively impact my enjoyment.

Overall, a great read and, as always, I'm eager to see what Abby does next!

As usual, I really loved this Abby Jimenez book. She's so good at writing complex characters with supporting casts, which always makes the romance feel more grounded. I loved how she brought back some of the characters from Part of Your World and we got to see even more of them and how they grew (or didn't). The meet-cute is SO stinking fun, and the way the tension built throughout the book was so, so tasty. I did think a few parts dragged a little bit, but overall, I had a great time with this one.

5🌟 - I loved it!

Say hello to one of my top romance reads of the year and my new favorite Abby Jimenez book! This book had EVERYTHING! The family drama/tension, mental health rep, chosen family, swoony romance, and the banter!! It had me kicking and squealing because I LOVED it so much.

The communication, the emotion, and tender-hearted characters truly SHINED throughout this book. She so delicately wove layered and complex characters and created a beautiful, funny, and memorable love story.

I could not get enough of it, and especially loved the audiobook for it!

Add this one to your summer TBR, you won’t regret it!

The DRAMA! The HILARITY! The WHOLESOMENESS!

This was the absolute best. A classic Abby Jimenez story, I laughed and cried all the way through. I had a visceral reaction to certain characters (ahem.. Amber.. ahem) and LOVED the way Justin and Emma showed up for each other.

The way Abby describes their love was so unique and yet relatable, from Justin as the “docking station”, to Emma letting someone on the island, to true love being those quiet mundane moments. This was a masterclass in rom coms and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hilarious, heartwarming story that’s equal parts fun and touching.

I generally love anything Abby Jimenez puts out. The theme of Just for the Summer was cute and catchy. I just didn't love it, and I tried. The characters were a little ill-developed for the depth/intensity of the storylines.

I am a new fan of Abby Jimenez! I was about to start this book, but heard on a podcast that Abby highly recommended reading "Part of Your World" and "Yours Truly" first, so of course I did. I devoured this series, and read all 3 in less than 2 weeks. What an incredible series, and I just loved how all of the past characters show up and weaved into "Just For the Summer." Masterfully done. The romance is beautiful and I love that the issues the characters faced in this book were so real and relatable. Abby Jimenez has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and I can't wait to read more from her!

Abby Jimenez does it again! I don't know how anyone would possibly NOT like this book. I loved the characters, the way their stories developed throughout the book, and it was a very satisfying ending. Abby is in her hayday for sure!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Justin and Emma are cursed: they both inspire their exes to find their soulmates after a break up. After connecting through a Reddit thread, the unlucky pair hatches a plan to date and break up to end their curses once and for all, but their summer fling on a charming little private island on Lake Minnetonka takes a turn when unexpected family drama throws them together and real feelings emerge.

Abby Jimenez slays once again. With the third book in the Part of Your World series she cements her place as one of the best contemporary romance authors that we’ve seen in the last couple of years. Her ability to address heavy topics within not-so-heavy dialogue makes for an enjoyable yet relatable read. I don’t often laugh while reading books (even the ones that the internet collectively deem “hilarious” - honestly such a red flag), but I always enjoy Jimenez’s banter, sometimes to the point of audible laughter which is a delight. I am not proud to admit that I hated Emma for a hot second near the end, but in the end I think her actions were a powerful reminder that we cannot show up for others until we show up for ourselves.

Oh gosh, i didn't realize that i hadn't reviewed this. DEFINITELY in my top three favorites of her books. Abby Jimenez has such a good way squeezing hard hitting topic into a contemporary romance novel.

Emma and Justin live across the country from one another, but they have one really big thing in common--They're both cursed.
When they date someone, they always break up and the ex goes on to find the love of their life. If Justin and Emma date, will the curse cancel each others out?

I loved all of the nods to her previous books...this one actually made me want to reread Part of Your World because i know i missed some of the references. EASY 5 Star.

My introduction to Abby Jimenez and I loved every second of it. I understand the Abby Jimenez hype now!

Abby Jimenez became an auto buy author since I read Part of Your World. Her stories have never disappointed me. There is something about how she writes a romance and the mmc that satisfies me in a way few other authors do. Just for the Summer is no different. The charachter;s back stories was pulling at my heart strings from the beginning. Both Emma and Justin have things that they need to navigate in their lives that throws a wrench in their plans to break each other's dating curse. Their relationship progress was sweet and had me kicking my feet giggling. (come on, he sent her surveys for before and after the date?!) This story was familiar to Jimenez's other work however different and fresh as there were many topics covered that haven't been present in her other work. For me, a romance needs to have more than the characters falling in love, I like to get to know the world and the relationships they have outside of their romance. This book has more to explore and makes me hope that other character's get their own love story one day. Jimenez hit it out the park yet again. Looking forward to reading more of her work in the future.

☀️Just For the Summer☀️

Abby Jimenez is an auto-buy author for me (I ended up with three copies of this one!) I know to expect an adorably cute but heartbreaking story. And, of course, Abby didn’t disappoint.

In JFTS, we have a headstrong FMC in Emma, but she’s got two suitcases full of issues. And as we’ve come to expect, our MMC, Justin, is your next book boyfriend- witty, tender hearted, and the ultimate golden retriever.

Their meet-cute is hilarious and Justin’s situation is so inventive. The premise was so interesting. And the way we always love the side characters… Maddy is the best friend we all want in life. There are Easter eggs everywhere, so I strongly suggest reading the POYW series in order, but it’s not necessary.

Now the wait begins for the next book… 😬

Thank you Forever, especially Estelle and Dana for wading through all the arc apps!, and Abby Jimenez for the review copy. These thoughts are my own.
