TA Williams has a gift for descriptive writing and in this novel, this ability brought the setting of Tuscany alive to this reader with a skill that could easily be utilised as a teaching aid in writing.
What is a novel though without a story and here, we have an early contender for 'Summer Read of the Year'. The lead characters act realistically together and when apart, even the way the 'diva actress' is portrayed goes against the norm and proves to be a delight.
This is a wonderful book full of surprises and life-lessons at every turn. It never lets up, at no point did I feel like things needed to be sped up, it perfectly matches the tone of the laid-back Tuscany setting and made me want to go and book a holiday there myself.
If you wish to read story spoilers, then there are plenty of other reviews who'll happily give those details away, I only review my thoughts on the writing style itself.
My thanks to Netgalley for the review copy.
