This is book 3 in the Devlin and Falcon series by Debra Webb.
Can't go back is a slow mystery with secrets being kept by everyone Devlin. Falcon has a darker past he isn't read to share with Delvin. With the romance new and the murder investigation pointing towards Falcon past the story blends mystery romance and a lot of scary people.
Debra Webb series is a must read for Police/ Mystery readers.
