Honoria Hartley has no desire to marry. Constantly reminding people that she's betrothed to the long-lost Viscount Vandemere is her way of avoiding it, even if it means that she has to make him up. Until she meets Oscar Flint, a dashing rogue in need of a place to hide, who is more than happy to pretend to be the lost heir to a viscountcy whom no one has ever met. The line between truth and lies begins to blur when Oscar's refusal to play by the rules clashes with Honoria's aversion to gambling with her heart.

Enemies to lovers at its best. There's banter and clashes from beginning to end. The moment Oscar meets Honoria, it's more of a fascinated but clashing interests than an actual enemies dynamic, and it grows into love before either of them is willing to accept it. Reading about them butting heads and trying to one-up each other is adorable because you can feel the emotions behind it growing.

My one complaint is that things get confusing and a little crazy towards the end. I had to reread the last few chapters to make sure that I hadn't skipped pages because a couple of things and people are set up as important elements only to seemingly disappear in order to give Honoria and Oscar their much-deserved HEA. I loved how things ended, but it annoyed me that some threads were ignored to get there.
