Jumping right into this review, I really liked the light choose-your-own-adventure style of this book. I think that it really enhances learning and helps readers absorb the message of the book in a different and more engaging way. Additionally, the author did a fantastic job of creating a clear and stark difference between Slug's thinking and Bubble's thinking. This choice was so smart because it eliminates confusion, as it gives the book an obvious "do" and "don't" format.
As for the illustrations, the artist did an awesome job of conveying characters' emotions on each and every page, and it allows readers to relate to this book in some way. Readers can easily see when readers are frustrated or anxious, but also calm and relaxed.
Lastly, it was a very smart idea to wrap up all of the coping skills in one place at the back of the book, as it gives readers the opportunity to use this book as a reference.
Bravo!
