Five babies were adopted by the illustrious billionaire Leontes Button to be brutally trained into being prodigies. Now in their teens, the lives of child geniuses leave much to be desired, but they must still show up to the annual Prodigy Ball. It's during this ball that Leontes Button is murdered, and everyone who attended is now a suspect. With every single Heir having something to hide and Mr. Button being an expert at making enemies, the police will have their work cut out for them.

It starts out feeling super predictable and familiar, but give the author time to fully immerse you into the story, and you will find yourself unable to walk away. While the Button heirs initially feel like caricatures with rich kid problems, it quickly turns out that they're children traumatized by a pressure-pot upbringing at the hands of a man who cared more about results and appearances than anything else. They're all much more than just the titles that were foisted on them, but their upbringing doesn't allow them to believe that. And that's just talking about the characters; the plot is a complex web of misdirection and revelations that kept me guessing from beginning to end.
It's a perfectly twisty page-turner that digs its fingers in you and doesn't let go even after the last perfect twist.
