Who is the greatest golfer of all time? For most fans, that debate ultimately comes down to two names: Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. In Tiger V. Jack, Bob Harig takes a deep dive into both of their legendary careers in an effort to reach a definitive answer. Along the way, he also examines other great figures in golf history, including Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen, to help place Nicklaus and Woods in proper historical context. Harig eventually arrives at his conclusion on who deserves the title of greatest golfer ever. Who did he choose? You will have to pick up Tiger V. Jack to find out.

Overall, I felt this was a solid and well researched attempt to compare the careers of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Harig brings a great deal of experience to the discussion and supports his arguments with plenty of facts and statistics. I especially enjoyed his side explorations into other all time greats, which added depth and perspective to the debate. One aspect of the book I did not care for was its tendency to jump around in time rather than exploring each career in a strictly linear fashion. Even so, the book offers a strong and engaging look at two of the greatest golfers the game has ever seen.
