too much internet, not enough death :)
but seriously, i thought this would be more philosophical, whereas it was more 'a history of the internet'. spoiler: it's not a series of tubes. or is it?
the AI discussion reminded me of a song i heard recently - a friend, who's a decent singer, wrote lyrics and a melody for a song about ambiguous grief, mourning her relationship with her father, before he died, and after - and she did mention she used "AI music generator Suno" to create a high-quality demo, but what i expected that to mean was like, inserting a drum machine instead of playing drums live. instead, when i pressed play, i didn't hear my friend's voice, but a weird atonal high-pitched female "singer". it was jarring to say the least, and not healing or empathizing. i'll take real imperfect PERSONAL voices anytime over computer software.
