Sandra Orchard lives in rural Ontario with her real-life hero husband, two of their three children and a menagerie of pets. An arts and science graduate with a major in math, Sandra never gave up her childhood dream of becoming a writer. Yet, for many years, needlecrafts, painting and renovating their century-old home
satisfi ed her creative appetite. Then she discovered the world of inspirational fi ction. After shelf upon shelf fi lled with books, her husband challenged her to write her own. And so the journey began.

For several years, she wrote while homeschooling their children. Then on her graduation day (her youngest daughter’s fi rst day of college), Sandra received the call that one of her novels had sold, and the publisher wanted more. What a blessed launch to this new phase of her life.

Rick took her face in his hands.
“I only care about keeping you safe.”

His soft words turned Ginny inside out. His intense drive to protect her was one of the things she’d loved most about him, because all her life she’d been the one doing the protecting.

It had felt good to lean on someone else.

Then he’d left, and the dove hanging from her rearview mirror became her reminder that she needed to lean on God alone. Except, Rick had come back and wanted to be her protector.

Unspoken regrets shadowed his eyes. “I honestly don’t know whether some psychotic protestor or one
of your uncle’s enemies or one of mine has targeted you. But I promise you I’ll figure it out and put a stop
to him.”

“I? Uh-uh. Whether you like it or not, we’re in this together. No more secrets.”

He hesitated, then with assurance in his eyes, said, “I like the sound of that.”
