Peace of Mind (Paz de Espìrito) – A Whisper of Sexual Exploration: Cortez DeAndreàs Santiago Pursuit for Serenity and Intimacy – Volume 2

It’s the early morning of Tuesday, August 22, 2000, the day after Cortez DeAndreàs Santiago moved out of the studio apartment at The Woodner, the apartment that he had shared with his now-ex-husband Damien. Subsequently, after years of conceding and surrendering his heart, his physical body, and his mind, for the third time to another male, and with the ending of his marriage to Damien, Cortez is now on a journey of self-discovery and self-evaluation.

He’s discovering that the effects of not having parental love in his life, are the end results of him pursuing emotional fulfillment and/or sexual intimacy from other men. His insatiable craving for a Happy Ending had seemingly pushed him toward the path of an inexorable fate.

More than just a pretentious novel or love story about being a straight, bisexual or gay individual and or human sexuality; it’s a tale of homoerotic desires and attention-grabbing trysts, an open relationship, monogamy and required emotional intimacy. An alluring visual art of seduction, pleasure and pain, and the penetration of the mind, body and soul. It chronicles the tales of love lost, gained, epiphany of true desires, and falling in love again with another male for the second time. In due course, Cortez’s feelings or desires to taste, touch or feel the warmth of another male gradually diminishes from thought.

Cortez, secondary focus is family. He’s optimistic that the garden-fresh pathway of progression, closeness and or the “refurbished branches of his family tree”, with majority of the members in my immediate family, will continue to evolve with a less dysfunctional state.

Unfortunately, life’s disappointments and frustrations, including betrayals, illnesses, death and tragedies, leaves him with feelings of worthlessness and despair as it relates to family and friends.
