Observant and analytical, Benny is also a fighter, constantly getting himself into trouble he generally settles with his fists. Not overtly criminal, he’s nonetheless recruited by his neighbor Craig to join the local motorcycle club.

Known to friends and enemies alike as the Magician, Craig is both perplexed and amused by Ben’s constant battle with his intellect and foolish impulses. The two are soon hanging out, sneaking into bars that will serve them, and recklessly careening down exurban back roads in stolen vehicles. Ben always provides the muscle and Craig the easy escape route.

Is Ben destined to life as a petty criminal, or is there some other, hidden purpose inhis initiation to the dark corners of suburbia?
