Description
It’s Ash Wednesday in 2007, and the first bullet has ripped through the first victim’s skull in what is officially an unsolved quadruple homicide. Hard-charging rookie cop Brandon Rose races off his footpost and into the American consciousness, ushering in the police era, in shocking, bold colors. The naked striver has answered ambition’s call, befriending sixteen-year-old Giselle, a sexually precocious lookout for a pack of monstrous drug dealers. Rose enters into a controversial exchange system with the whip-smart stunner that he believes holds the key to opening up all of the streets’ secrets to him. The overzealous climber manipulates his taboo relationship with the minor in hopes that she will reveal the identities of the Ash Wednesday killers. If Giselle falls in love with Rose, she may risk her life—and his career—so that he can realize his obsessed-after police dreams, the gold NYPD detective shield.

About the Author:
Jordan Castro is an active NYPD sergeant who began assembling his “literary painting” on the pages of his police memorandum pad and restaurant napkins while on patrol in the Bronx and Harlem. Born in Washington Heights, to Cuban parents, his dreams were supported and nurtured by a mother and father who enrolled him in arts programs where he cultivated the bold strokes of his vivid writing style. Inspired by English teachers who awakened him to the universes of Shakespeare, Jane Austen and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jordan believed it was his destiny to contribute memorably to the literary landscape, while honoring his predecessors. He graduated from Manhattan College in Riverdale where he was a member of the English honor society, Sigma Tau Delta, and won the Paul Cortissoz Award for English Literature. An NYPD officer since 2006, Jordan was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2013 and currently trains police officers in the South Bronx.
