Description

Three stories. Three women. Three very different lives.

Liz is a career woman who is desperately trying to break through the glass ceiling in the world of finance, Betsy is the motherly figure with more than enough on her plate, while Ellie is a wild party girl, hooked on having a good time.

As the lives of the three become increasingly interwoven, the sudden financial crisis creates a different set of problems for each one, as they battle to maintain their individual lifestyles.

And as it deepens they find that the pressure of life becomes almost unbearable, as Liz loses her job, Betsy’s mother dies and Ellie is assaulted while out one night.

As lives begin to unravel, Liz suffers a crisis as her increasingly bizarre behaviour spirals out of control and she suddenly finds herself shunned by the people she knows.

Rescued by friends, life begins to look a little brighter and there is yet one last surprise for her. The question is, will Liz be able to regain control, or is it already too late for her?

About the Author:

Jenni Regan grew up in rural Dorset, moved to London when she was 19 and decided she liked it there. She has now been living in the city for the past 20 years, most recently on the ‘Essex borders’ with her husband and their daughter.

In her working life, Jenni has been a mental health support worker, a Senior Broadcast Journalist for the BBC and now works as a Senior Media Advisor for a mental health charity, advising scriptwriters on how to write characters with mental health problems.

Jenni loves the idea that women can be so many things and don’t fit into one role without being others. With this as part of her motivation she has written a book called The Girl Who Just Wanted to Have Fun. It is a story with a twist, of three women who are each successful in their own way, but who each harbour a problem they are struggling to hide from the outside world.

When she has free time, Jenni likes to keep fit by running and practicing Yoga. She also sings in a choir and is a member of a community theatre group, enjoys travel, all things cultural and reads voraciously anything that crosses her path. And when she really wants to relax she does it with friends and a glass or two of wine.

In the future Jenni hopes to continue to travel and see as much of the world as possible, while still enjoying as much time with her family as she can.
