Rob started writing for fun around that time and grew up to become a professional writer, selling the first of many published essays to the Christian Science Monitor in 1994. He went on to write numerous screenplays and has seen five of his movies make it to the small screen. His TV movie credits include Three Days, Secret Santa, Hidden Places, Farewell Mr. Kringle, and Christmas Cookies, and he also wrote the novels Secret Santa (Atria) and Forever Christmas (Thomas Nelson).

Rob graduated from East Henderson High School and attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a BA in journalism/mass communications. He has also worked as a studio cameraman, a game show producer, a TV promotions writer/producer, a teacher, a college student house manager, and an editor, as well as in media relations.
