She can’t take her eyes of the Jack Russell in a tattered pet carrier dumped at the feet of a rough, twitchy man. Is the dog even alive? And where are the pups she's clearly recently had? Seeking those answers leads the rookie reporter, through her alter ego Viola Vincent, to the grim world of puppy farming

With the help of Megan, Mac’s owner and the local paper Caitlin sets out to save little Sissy and draw public attention to a global industry in designer dogs.
