Description

Armistice wraps up the Keepers saga, providing all that fans could hope for and rarely get from the conclusion of similar trilogies. Friar provides a clear ending, which cleanly fits with the entirety of the plot and is rational within the universe of The Keepers, yet has all the twists and mind-bending flare that has become characteristic of this author. As in the first two parts of the trilogy, Armistice provides details and facts that display the potential reality of the story, allowing the reader to easily buy in to the plotline. As he did before, Friar shows in Armistice that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. The Keepers Trilogy is a near-future saga that charts the rise and fall of the Apex Empire and it's supremely charismatic dictator, Geiseric. The story is seen through the eyes of Logan, a young man who is at first imprisoned in the imperial underclass, where all those who were not Apex citizens were sent after the war. Having risen through the ranks through courage, skill and luck, Logan finds himself being instructed in the elite Formula training system by top imperial leaders, including the emperor himself. Armistice focuses in on Geiseric's and Field Marshal Von Edeco's sessions with Logan, which help the student grow into the hero the readers have anticipated. During this time, Logan is communicating with the Allies, via an old friend who makes a shocking reappearance. The times are tense as Logan attempts to bridge the gap and avert disaster. Expect new, wildly amazing yet well-explained technology and adventuresome subplots, including yet another journey to a third celestial body, the war being brought to all corners of the Solar System.
