The Perfect Stone

Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a boy who loved stones.

As the boy makes his way through the world, he considers every stone and rock and pebble and boulder that crosses his path, always in search of the perfect stone. Then one day, under the shade of a giant oak at the edge of a wide meadow, the boy finds a pile of stones of every shape and size. He spends years exploring this pile, growing into a man along the way. But when he finally reaches the last stone, he looks around and makes an important discovery about himself. While there is beauty in every step we take, if we spend all our time seeking perfection, we may miss the beauty of the path itself.

This children's fable tells the tale of a boy who spends so much time focused on his pursuit of the perfect stone that he misses the journey he is on.
