Description
Follow the journey of José and Ana, a Mexican couple that migrates to America in search of a better life for their children. Along the way you will meet Iranian refugees, an all-American family with dark secrets, and a presidential candidate campaigning on fear and hate. Their lives collide and intertwine, building to a tragic conclusion in the aftermath of America’s most disastrous election cycle yet.
In reality-TV-obsessed American society, politicians deny being politicians and elections hinge on lies and manipulation. If a government can choose its own facts, even though they contradict science, people must find their truths in fiction.
This debut novel by Brazilian immigrant Eduardo Cordeiro shows that the stories we choose to tell — and believe — are more important than ever.

"I felt like I was on a journey with these vivid characters, seeing America, Mexico, and Iran through their eyes. Their stories were illuminating and the captivating imagery kept me glued to my seat." -- Alisha A., Writer & Artist
"While not a ‘feel good’ story, human solidarity comes into play throughout the story, even among characters with diverse backgrounds. To me, that's the core of the story: human beings coming together in the face of evil." -- Mark S., Writer & Editor
