Climate Change and the Oceans

Environmental fiction

With a doctorate in literature from Stanford in 1974, I have taught English in the United States, the Caribbean, Norway, and Russia. Teaching in Norway was a dream; teaching in Russia was the mountaintop of my career. Beyond our borders, the global generation is motivated, ready, vibrant; they are my great hope.

I have written a book which is unique in America, unique in the world. Climate Change and the Oceans weaves ten years of intensive research-in the twin fields of climate change and clean energy-into seven stories, set in seven locations around the world, today, and in twenty years. Most of the characters are young people; the stories dramatize the probable changes coming to their worlds in the near future.

The book fits into the category "environmental fiction", a category which does not exist in the American publishing industry.

The ebook version, available for $0.99 on the three major ebook readers, as well as any laptop, enables me to offer this book to students and other young people around the world. The ebook contains a companion book of photography, Blessed is Life, with pictures of children from many countries.

Clean energy will be the economic engine of the 21st century. Clean energy will bring a weaving of universities, a weaving of research, a weaving of grids; clean energy will thus truly launch the first global generation in human history. Clean energy can bring us, if we are willing, a growing foundation of peace.

Climate Change and the Oceans, from Woodgate International, www.woodgateintl.com, is the book that can give our global grandchildren a healthy and prosperous world.
