With a doctorate in literature from Stanford in 1974, I have taught English in the United States, the Caribbean, Norway, and Russia. Teaching in Norway was a dream; teaching in Russia was the mountaintop of my career. Beyond our borders, the global generation is motivated, ready, vibrant; they are my great hope.

Most of the characters are young people; the stories dramatize the probable changes coming to their worlds in the near future.
