Sailors from the Elvin kingdom of Essawylor seek to cross the Austral Ocean in search of a lost archipelago, the legendary ultimate refuge of the Elves. Their arrival on the shores of Nyn Llyvary triggers a devastating series of events. The drums of history resound anew; life across the Lost Islands will never be the same again.
Oliver is my new favorite author. He brings back the art of excellent narration. I could not put this spell-binding novel down. Every detail turns out to be culminating and significant. You can read and reread this novel, picking up new things each time that finally make sense later on. I like the fact that you cannot rush through reading the novel, and that makes the joy of reading last far longer than dialogue-based novels that only last me a day. It was so spellbinding that I'd slow down, read only several pages a night, and lie in bed pondering the outcomes while falling asleep. I really did not want the novel to end. I feel more compassionate toward the characters as a result of having spent more time with them. Can't wait for this to become an HBO series and for me to say that I had read all the books and was a fan from the very beginning! Love, love love it! What I like best is the mysticism and spirituality; however, the plot in itself is entirely worthwhile and spectacular. —Acoustic Crazy (Amazon Review)
“Fantasy lovers in need of something new to read would do well to pick up a copy of ‘Songs of the Lost Islands’, the twelve-part series written by C.A. Oliver. The author, who splits his time between Rio and Paris, channels his inner J.R.R. Tolkien in his fantastic novel that has shades of the fantasy writing greats. It’s a breath of fresh air.” —Viral Pirate
