Every 45 seconds someone is stricken with stroke in this country, about 15 million around the world, and a 1/2 million die. About the Author

Richard (Dick) Burns is a retired television and advertising executive (yes, a real-life Mad Man) the one who put the smile on the PSA airplane and helped engineer a cultural icon - the Fruit of the Loom guys. He is recognized nationally as an authority on retail advertising through broadcast/telecast and developed the first successful systen for local broadcast/telecast advertising and sales for national advertisers. He taught retail companies nationally how to advertise measurably and accountably, was a consultant for management, finance and personnel, organized and developed fund-raising activities for foundations and non-profits, conceived and implemented a successful international television series and is reponsible for the rescue of animals in national disaster operations. He is the author of newspaper articles and columns and is the recipient of numerous proferssional , philanthropic and service awards..
