Doggone Dead

Retirement: It's something everyone dreams about. Gwen Franklin, newly retired high school teacher, has reached that time in her life, and she couldn’t be happier! Now she’s got time to read the mysteries she loves, sleep in as long as she wants, and visit her best friend, multi-divorcee Nora Goldstein. Nora, however, has other plans for Gwen, and they don’t involve lying around with a good book.

With a handful of new clients and the help of Brent Mayfair, one of Gwen’s ex-students, the gals begin Two Sisters Pet Valet Services, something that’s perfect for the Portland, Oregon pet owners who’d prefer to stay inside while Fido and Spot get their business done. Unfortunately, someone’s got other ideas in mind for the two friends, and finding a very dead body in her kitchen sends Nora straight to a police interrogation room and Gwen into full-fledged detective mode.

Clearing Nora’s name is job number one for Gwen, and finding the killer before they strike again bring out the Miss Marple in her. Whoever did it had better watch out. Gwen Franklin has read every mystery by the grand dame of cozies, and she knows a thing or two about trapping a killer…
