Description

In a classic tale of good versus evil, Noelle Andrews details her marriage to and subsequent divorce from a man she believes to be a sociopath. "Adrian," a handsome and charismatic rock star impersonator, sweeps her off her feet in a few short months. Blissfully happy on her wedding day, the increasingly frequent disturbing glimpses into his disordered mind leave Noelle feeling trapped and helpless. Sixteen months later, Adrian's arrest in the foyer of her home is the final nail in the marriage coffin. Much like Dorothy's dismay when finally meeting the man behind the curtain, Noelle too was shocked to see the dark and twisted mind of the psychopath, disguised as her soul-mate. From allegations of wife-swapping, false accusations of narcotics abuse to a dog-napping veterinarian, Noelle's formerly average life becomes an odd parody of a reality TV show. "Aftermath" is a cautionary tale, with a summary of the research available on a pervasive societal problem. Psychopathy is far more common than one would imagine, with the conscience-deficient estimated to comprise up to 4% of the population. In an era where predators can pretend to be anyone on the internet, Dr. Andrews' story illustrates how an educated and intelligent woman can be manipulated and conned. "The Aftermath of Rock ‘n Roll" is a must read for anyone contemplating internet dating, and for those who have ever been in a pathological relationship, a number likely in the tens of millions. Who among us have not had a co-worker, lover or family member whose unthinkable actions leave us shaking our head in disbelief? Forewarned is forearmed.

This could happen to you--beware! June 20, 2012 By Linda the lady lawyer

The author was lonely and this con man swept her off her feet. She trusted him and this scumbag abused her financially and emotionally. When she filed for divorce, her first set of lawyers let her down. Despite all of the horrible events of this short marriage, the author pulled through because of her innate strength, intelligence and ability to see beyond the immediate predicament. The author provides many research references for those interested in learning more about the machinations of the psychopathic or sociopathic individual. A must read for anyone entering the on-line dating world, or any new relationship, for that matter.

Just goes to show you why dogs sleep with one eye open. This is an eye opening book.
