Democracy Undone

Scheduled for publication two weeks before the 2012 presidential election, "Democracy Undone" tells us what we need to do to combat election fraud. Written by long-time Democratic Underground blogger and former analyst for the Election Defense Alliance Dale Tavris , the book gives an insider's look into the ways an election can be manipulated, from electronic vote-counting machines to purging of voter rolls.

Tavris is a professional epidemiologist who presents the cold, hard data on election manipulation. Our votes are registered, counted and reported largely by electronic machines produced and owned by private corporations. These machines generate vote counts that are unverifiable by any means. When citizens' groups, election integrity organizations, or public officials ask to examine the machines for evidence of election fraud, the machines’ owners say the machines are “proprietary."

Along with dissecting the voting machines in detail, the author describes other ways in which our election system has been corrupted: from the buying of politicians by billionaires, to the spread of self-serving propaganda, to the disenfranchisement of qualified voters.
