Description

Unholy Grail connects all the dots.

Beginning with the stories of Judas Iscariot and Mary Magdalene, the Unholy Grail story culminates in their contemporary heir, who becomes the Anti-Christ of the Apocalypse.

The plan for the end of days is crystallized in the life of Judas Iscariot; his identity as the "son of perdition" and the true motives for his betrayal of Christ are fully revealed. Two of the individuals closest to Jesus are then used to establish a satanically-inspired bloodline starting with the Merovingian Kings of France, continuing down through the ages, and culminating in a couterfeit Messiah.

Book One, the current volume of this two-book series, follows Judas from his ancestry, through his life and brief relationship with Mary Magdalene, to his ultimate demise. In Book Two, the modern-day descendent of Judas and Mary rises from obsurity to become the most powerful man in world politics.

"Unholy Grail combines the historical intrigue of The Da Vinci Code with the prophetic excitement of Left Behind to deliver a thrilling story of the history of mankind." -Sam O'Neal, Christianity Today International

Well-researched historical fiction October 22, 2007 By Rebecca Miller Format:Hardcover I read this compelling book in only two sittings. It opens a bit slowly, so I put it down after a chapter or so, but when I picked it up again a couple days later, I got so engrossed in the story that I read straight through to the end. "Unholy Grail" gives an alternate theory to the DaVinci code. This author has the antichrist coming from Mary and Judas, not Mary and Jesus. The book follows the young life of the boy who would grow up to become Judas Iscariot. It offers convincing inner motivations for many of Judas's puzzling actions in the gospel accounts, such as decrying Mary's use of perfume to bathe Jesus' feet, betraying Jesus, and hanging himself.

The author has clearly done extensive research into the time period as well as earlier periods, and he weaves into the narrative interesting facts from earlier mythologies from Babylon, Egypt, etc. that all tie into the story. There's extra historical information in appendices to the book as well as on the website for the book. The storytelling does bog down at a few points with too much exposition, but overall the narrative flows well.

This book would be of interest to anyone who enjoys reading about the Roman era, the gospel period of Jewish history, early Eastern cosmology and mythology, and even end-times theories.

I was asked to revue this book by the author and, since we both live in the same state, he kindly delivered Unholy Grail to my door. Thank you Mr. Sorenson! This historical novel allows readers to enter the world of Jesus's time of ministry and treats us to excerpts straight from the Bible. Mr. Sorenson centers on Mary of Magdala and Simon Iscariot. The text is rich with vivid desriptions that really bring his words to life. As we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, the book progresses with the reasons why Mary and Judas became the persons they were. The struggle between God and Satan is also a strong thread marking each chapter with new insights into Christian heritage. This first in a series ends with the culmination of the birth of the Anti-Christ. Mr. Sorenson leaves his readers waiting anxiously for the next book.

Unholy Grail May 4, 2012 By Frank D Format:Paperback This book Unholy Grail written by Richard B Sorensen is just simply fantastic. As I was reading the other reviews I must agree with all of them this is a must read. It was hard to put the book down and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
