 After barely avoiding killing a drunken man in a car accident, Holly is eager to learn how to control her newly discovered powers. However, the gods aren’t on her side.

When her parents get kidnapped by the power-hungry goddess Pasiphae, she recruits her best friend Sephyra and a secretive boy named Arys to get them back. But with her magic working against her and her emotions rebelling, she becomes ensnared in plans, years in motion, the world set on breaking her.

Voices in Holly’s head encourage her to kill and maim, and Sephyra is growing farther and farther away, her connections to other worlds dragging her away. Stranded in a new world driven by power, Holly is constantly being seduced by promises of more.

As Sephyra fights to free Holly and her parents from the grip of dark powers, it’s all too easy for Holly to wonder if she even wants to leave.
