Description

Enter the magical world of a little boy with a big imagination in Prince A. Sanders’s delightful debut, Which Fork’s First? From the very first page of this unique children’s book, kids will learn proper table manners while embarking on a whimsical romp through the Big Apple! The first in the Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of Prince series, Which Fork’s First? introduces six-year-old Prince, a smart and curious little boy who lives with his mother, father, and brother in New York City. Along with his hamster and constant companion, Popcorn, Prince embarks on a series of adventures that ultimately teaches him some of life’s more puzzling lessons. It is Prince’s birthday weekend, and his family has surprised him with the best gift of all: tickets to a Broadway show and a fancy, grown-up dinner at the New York Hotel. Prince is over the moon, but quickly learns that there is a catch. In order to dine at such an upscale eatery, Prince must learn proper table etiquette—and fast!

Accompanied by engaging illustrations that will simultaneously spark children’s imaginations while sending them into fits of giggles, Which Fork’s First? follows Prince’s often hilarious road toward politeness. As difficult as it may seem to Prince while he tries to keep the forks, glasses, and napkins straight, he learns that anything is possible with the help of his family and trusty sidekick.

Which Fork’s First? is the perfect book for parents, grandparents, or teachers who would like to teach kids proper table etiquette in a fun and interactive way. Written for children up to age twelve, this imaginative debut showcases an inventive blend of learning and laughter.

About the Author

A former professional ballet dancer with Albano Ballet and Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Prince fell into a career in hospitality. After an injury decommissioned him as a dancer in New York City, he had to restructure his life goals. As fate would have it Prince was offered and accepted a position with The W Hotel brand. After successfully working in a variety of positions within hotel operations, Prince became a trainer for W Hotels. He was later recruited as a member of the opening task force team for four new W Hotels opening across the country. After seven years at W, Prince A. Sanders was recruited to The Ritz Carlton. At The Ritz Carlton, Prince took his training to the next level. In less than a year with the Hotel, he was asked to undergo training to be certified as a speaker with The Ritz Carlton Leadership Center, which upon certification he immediately went into training staff on property and in non-hospitality industries such as finance, and medical. Because of his hospitality success, Prince assisted in creating training manuals for the EDITION Hotel brand, Marriott’s lifestyle brand in partnership with Ian Schrager. Prince later opened the first three EDITION hotels in Hawaii, Istanbul, and London. From there, Prince moved into the role of Hotel Manager at Trump International Hotel & Tower, which would eventually lead him to a position as the General Manager, earning him the title of “Prince of the City” in a recent article by Forbes. In his current position as Managing Director at the Park Lane Hotel, Prince and the team will embark on a multi-million dollar renovation. They intend to reinstate the hotel as one of the most unique and iconic properties in NYC. It’s enough that the success story of a former professional dancer turned into a business success story. But Prince A. Sanders, wasn’t quite satisfied with the legacy he would leave behind. He created a book based on a childhood experiences and The Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of Prince was born. His first book, “Which Fork’s First?” helps teach children about table etiquette. His second book, The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of Prince: Everybody’s Good at Something, will be released in September.
