Two estranged brothers—an ultramarathon runner and a biotechnology rep—reunite and push past the limits of their endurance in a race to save a baby’s life.
Caleb and Shane Oberest began running together as boys. The brothers took divergent paths—Caleb abandoned a successful consulting career and severed all ties to his family to devote his life to ultramarathoning; Shane was drawn, on the verge of becoming a new father, to biotechnology and its seemingly limitless role in curing the diseases of our time. But when Caleb breaks a major rule of his running club and falls in love with one of its members and her infant daughter, Lily, he reaches out to his brother for help with Lily’s fatal genetic condition.

Each finds himself in a race for survival—Caleb for dominance at the dangerous Yosemite Slam ultramarathon; Shane to produce in secret a cure for Lily, in hope of reconnecting with the brother he idolizes.
