Description

Standing at the altar moments before the “I dos” is not the time to have second thoughts, but Maggie, the bridesmaid, does. After all, Bucky and Melinda wouldn’t be getting married if she hadn’t intervened. Maybe she played the wrong card. She loves them both, but maybe she should have been the bride.

A Kiss for Maggie Moore by Micki R. Pettit is an endearing and humorous tale of first experiences, with quirky and absorbing characters who gracefully capture the atmosphere of rural Wyoming during the 1960s era of social change.

Smart-mouthed Maggie Moore is smitten with Bucky, an easy-going, sometimes infuriating, heartthrob. All the while, their mutual friend Melinda—feminine, intelligent, lonely—is clearly the object of Bucky’s affection. As children, Maggie’s romantic feelings are often eclipsed by the free-spirited adventures she and Bucky share with Melinda. In their teens, adventure takes on a whole new meaning as Melinda slips into a downward spiral and Maggie finds the courage to seduce Bucky. But their moment is interrupted by tragic news that only reinforces his feelings for Melinda, causing Maggie to grapple with an agonizing choice.
