This was another great entry in the Deviant Magic series, this had what I enjoyed from the previous entries. It had what I enjoyed from the four entries, the world felt like the same and I had a good time reading this. The magic elements worked really well and it worked with the characters in this. The characters were great and added to my enjoyment. I look forward to more from this universe and look forward to more from Scott Colby.
"Ren scanned the bottles lined up along the wall to the bartender’s left. His usual was nowhere to be found. He felt surprisingly fine with that. “Shot o’ well whiskey and a light beer chaser,” he said as he lowered himself onto the stool closest to the wall. Fake brown leather crackled under his weight."
