We had the author on a visit to our school after the first in the series - First Aid for Fairies and other mythical beasts - came out. All the junior classes read it (or had it read to them) and loved it. My own two boys read it avidly, over and over again, and lapped up the next two in the series - Wolf Notes and Storm Singing. They assure me that Maze Running is the best of the four - which is high praise! Lari Don is a gifted story teller but with these novels she skilfully weaves a wealth of magic and myth into a modern setting. Brilliant.

Maze Running is a fabulous end to a fantastic series. Lari Don inflicts some serious injuries on her fabled beasts requiring more than just first aid this time. All the best characters are back for a final bow. My girls love the book and I suspect the summer holidays will involve investigating some of the locations around Scotland.
