A fast moving and page turning story about an average Midwest individual who devises a unique plan to gain vast riches quickly by making simple changes to conventional jewelry thefts. The unorthodox plan that anyone can follow succeeds in netting half a million dollars in a few short months. Then, a simple mistake brings on the wrath of a ruthless Michigan Russian mafia boss sending people fleeing in all directions.

The police have had no success when Andrea Roccio, a private investigator with a police background, pursues the thefts but somehow gets entangled in the mafia herself. Her persistence to find the thieves backfires and ignites a gang war between the Russian Mafia and the Philadelphia Italian Mafia, having her fear for her own life.

With many twists, turns, and surprises, the players quickly become scattered up into Canada and down the east coast into Florida and Mexico. The ongoing changes and destruction continue to confuse everyone, as each gang wonders who is doing what to whom.

Thru all this, two romances grow from casual meetings into serious and passionate relationships. Finally, when Andrea seems to have everything under control and solved, a surprise ending sets her back and restarts the need to continue her pursuit.
