Description

Becoming an author has always been a personal goal for Michelle Percell since she first learned to read. Watching the failing marriages of friends and family members due to their inability to understand themselves as individuals was the “back story” that inspired Percell to pen her debut novel, Gracious Redemption.

Uniquely written from each character’s perspective, Gracious Redemption takes readers into the lives of two fictional married couples whose attempts to deal with common marital issues, including infidelity, apathy and the very precarious nature of the institution of marriage brings their lives to an irreparable conclusion.

Mara and Justin: she is a wife fighting depression in the midst of trying to raise the ‘perfect’ family; frustrated to be the household caterer, gofer and everyone’s everything except to herself. Justin, a busy doctor married to both Mara and his career, needs to find a better way for them to co-exist if his marriage and sanity are to survive.

Robin and Timothy: Married, they live separate, childless lives in the same house. Robin is a nurse who works the night shift and who has forgotten why they even decided to get married. She feels more like Tim’s unisex roommate. Timothy, a car salesman, wonders where his life has gone and reminds Robin daily about their current sexless state.

When a fifth person enters the picture the lives of everyone involved become tragically intertwined and permanently altered. Only grace can redeem them from the wreckage their lives eventually become.

Gracious Redemption is written on a very personal level with the characters taking on a compelling and gritty life of their own. Percell brings readers into the storyline with an ease that breeds familiarity.
