A Note From the Publisher

Ber Carroll was born in Blarney, Co. Cork and is one of six children. Ber moved to Sydney in 1995 with her boyfriend, Rob, who is now her husband of twenty years. She spent her early career working in finance but resigned when she realised that she couldn't hold down a demanding job, be mum to two young children, and write books to contractual deadlines. Ber is the author of eleven novels. Her last four novels have been written under B.M. Carroll to reflect that her writing has become darker and more suspenseful (which is also a reflection of her state of mind!). You Had It Coming was shortlisted for the 2022 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction and the 2022 Davitt Award for Best Adult Novel.

Advance Praise

'The Other Side of Her is B.M. Carroll at her unputdownable best. I zoomed through the pages, tuning out the world around me and lying to myself over and over – just one more chapter – until its magnificent conclusion. At once compulsive and poignant, Carroll's latest offering illustrates her talent for page turners with depth. With The Other Side of Her, Carroll solidifies her place among Australia's top authors (and my absolute favourites).' – Sally Hepworth

'Wholly absorbing and masterfully plotted, The Other Side of Her cements B.M. Carroll as the undeniable queen of dark, devious thrillers filled with fascinating, manipulative characters and riveting, original twists and turns.' – Nicola Moriarty

'B.M. Carroll takes us on a tense, twisty ride exposing the depths of parental fear and abusive relationships. This gripping story looks at human nature and asks: how far would you go to protect your family? As the twists kept coming, I was utterly hooked.' – Petronella McGovern
