This series has definitely taken a top spot in my all-time favorite books list. Though science fiction is a prevailing theme throughout, it has so many more elements to engage any reader. There's romance, adventure, and political intrigue in addition to the all too plausible post-apocalyptic picture the author paints. This series is definitely a must-read!
This is second book in series, and it gets better. This book really gets at its best when these two families blend together during a rough time. Tragedies strikes when two of them die and the dynamics in the family change and all do not handle it well. Things then get a little disturbing , we have this evil that comes through when One of them gets involved with the wrong people. Then we have others who seek comfort in Echo. Echo is a very strange being he comes to the aide of these humans but at what price. This book will have you so engrossed from beginning to end and have you wanting more.
