Description

On Friday, May 27, 2011 a young African man, Roland Deah, walked into the offices of Christian Companion Senior Care, Tucson, AZ, and told a most amazing story of his adventurous and life-threatening journey to America.

Knocked down hard and often in his young life, he always bounced back to the balls of his feet. At eight years old, he was clobbered by blows that would have landed larger and older men in hospitals or morgues. His loved ones were shot and blown to pieces. As a small boy, he saw men hacked to death by machetes, women savagely raped, and endless rivers of refugees carrying nothing and walking toward the unknown.

Every one knows the terrible and crushing blows that can knock you down. Perhaps the real message here is: you have a choice. Like a boxer on the canvas, you can lie there or you can get back up. Yes, it is that simple. Bottom line: God has a race for each of us to run. As soon as we accept Him into our lives and maintain a daily relationship with Him, God will reveal that race! Each of us needs to recognize and complete that race no matter what obstacles confront us.
