Jack Dillon was looking forward to retiring from his long and eventful career as a private detective and living out the rest of his days in an idyllic setting, enjoying and producing fine wines with his lovely gal pal, Jenny, by his side. When Jack is presented with the opportunity to make his dream a reality during an international investigation involving the fraudulent sale of rare wines, he can scarcely believe his good fortune. Not only will he finally be the proud owner of his very own vineyard—but he would do it at a fraction of the cost he was planning on.

However, when the current owner of the vineyard is gruesomely and inexplicably murdered, Jack is reluctantly drawn into the case and begins his own investigation into who may have had a motive to commit such a heinous act on a defenseless man who seemed to be loved by everyone who knew him.

When Jack uncovers stolen plans for a top-secret wine opener design and an adulterous affair between the murder victim’s wife and friend, the motives for the homicide seem obvious—but as Jack delves further into the sordid details of the duplicitous schemes and plans of those whom the victim trusted most, he soon learns that finding the true perpetrator of the crime will be a daunting challenge . . . even for a seasoned private detective like himself.
